  1. Would Gary Ayres put his hand up or will he go for Essendon job
  2. B Whelan Bizzel Wheatley HB Frawley Rivers Bell C Johnstone MacDonald Jones HF Bartram Sylvia Green F Robertson Neitz Yze R White Bruce McClean I Davey Moloney Bate Miller Robertson Neitz Yze (old) Keep them close to goals and are freaks in front of goal Push Younger players with more Legs to Half Forward Have quick legs on bench for rotation of midfield and wings. Use Miller up forward or back, Ruck? where needed
  3. I believe we need a coach that will inspire our younger players. If i was drafted to MFC I would want to be coached by Voss. He's done everything that could be done, just having someone in the club that can talk about winning a Brownlow and winning three prems would stir up alot of emotion and get that hunger we need. He is a natural born leader, has a midfielders brain where the games are won, and could bring people like Al Lynch to the club as forward coach. He wouldn't be as expensive as past coaches and has been coached by the greatest footballer of the century. There is a pattern here, Matthews had great success at Hawthorn and Brisbane Coaching. Voss had great success at Brisbane and could bring that success to MFC as a coach. You wanna be the champions you gotta have them
  4. I think he's been criticised to much ,i think he led the club in kicks last season. Plus playing while injured is probably why he has been a bit off. He would be very dangerous around the goalsquare, always able to kick a few when he's down there
  5. Yes we could, run and kick long the way we used to play. Good young sides though just having a fair dinkum crack
  6. He will play better when the rest of the team does. Melbourne need to slow down the speed at which it is entering there defense. More pressure on opponents and more work from the mid field pushing back could help. I don't think it would matter who the opponent is the way the ball is getting delivered. I liked Melbournes game style when they moved quickly and kicked long, we seem to over possess causing turnovers or silly mistakes. We have the credentials to be a great side maybe our game plan needs looking at. Kicking goals has been a big problem, poor delivery into the forward line?
  7. How would a new coach get the best out of him? After ten years you'd think he would be at his peak?
  8. I think it was a bad decision. And you cant say we benefited from losing a Brownlow Medalist out of your Midfield when we are clearly lacking leadership in that area. Thats why they got Moloney to try put some tough grit back in our midfield which we lost when woewodin was traded. They are trying to get back what they got rid of. It should have been TJ traded not Woey. Our next best move is to trade TJ for a more consistent midfielder. I think hes had enough time to prove himself don't you think.
  9. He averaged around twenty possessions a game while at collingwood, not too bad considering you think he didn't perform. Woewodin was always on the bottom of the packs getting the hardball, Travis Johnstone is a cream puff compared too shane. When Travis's career is over he will be remembered as the Number One draft pick that showed glimpses of being a champion footballer. He has good skills i'll give him that. You want midfielders that can get a hardball and consistently get twenty too thirty poss a game, Consistency something Travis is lacking. You cant have key midfielders up and down everyweek. When you play against players like Judd,Kerr, West ,Hodge etc you gotta be firing on all cylinders cause thats where the games are won in the midfield.
  10. A great move? Melbourne was still paying for him when he was at Collingwood. Woewodin would have been more value staying. Now hes going to waste. He is a put your head down get the football type player which Melbourne are missing. I'd rather have Woewodin over Travis Johnstone any day. I know he would give 110% and wouldn't side step. Daniel Bell is no way near the calibre of Woey. I can't see Daniel Bell being a Brownlow Medallist. You don't trade players that perform. You trade players that are underperforming or want to leave or are near the end of there career. Thinking of trading Bruce is stupidity
  11. Can't trade Bruce it would be like Woewodin all over again. Stupidest thing the club has ever done.
  12. Holland is good up forward in a pocket, creates a mis match when two big strong blokes (Neitz) are up forward, i don't know why they haven't done it this year. It takes out a key defensive player. Yze is a freak in front of goals he would be great in the other pocket position. Still a couple years left Pickett must go Trade Johnno to inconsistent as a midfielder. If kept should have more of a role on a wing Miller needs to be played in one position to establish himself at CHF Brown must go Bizzel should play another year, just getting back into it
  13. Voss would be a great coach for Melbourne, Has great leadership skills and has the playing credentials to back it up. A person of this calibre knows how to play the modern football game and knows how to win. He is well respected, and would bring a bit of toughness and grit the team has always lacked. Bringing Lynch with him too would be good for a Forward Coach. Melbournes lack of goalkicking has let them down this year. If Bruce, Yze, Green dont kick a few goals we seem to lose and these fellas aren't being pushed forward enough to where they are dangerous. Going back to an older generation coach would be the worst thing for the club, we need a modern day coach with a modern day football brain. We need a coach that means business. Neale done great things for the club but seemed a bit to soft to me and it has showed on the football field. If things aren't going right for the team they seem to lack the ability to dig down deep and make something happen. A new coach, A new captain in Judd would inspire his fellow team mates how to play football with such intensity.
