A guernsey is not a factor in what team you choose to play for, so I assume this is a joke.
They're a premiership contender - we're a bottom four contender.
They have newer, better, more accessible training facilities than us.
The only positive we can potentially offer is more money, and even that is an unknown.
I love my club, but there are very few actual reasons to want to play for MFC over most other clubs in 2026 and the near future sadly.
I can’t handle the truth.

The general connection is their first names are all Australian-region cyclone names.
The specific connection is that these names for cyclones have all been 'retired' due to the high human and/or economic impact of the cyclones so named.

2 hours ago, John Crow Batty said: I was at the game and we certainly had home ground advantage after acclimatising for several weeks in Perth and playing the prelim there. The crowd I estimate was 65-70% supporting us. This was the only big game in my life with a packed house that I remember crowd support was clearly in our favour. Never experienced that the MCG. I love Optus Stadium.
Also ,that was the year when we usually played in front of empty stadia.
So for a change we weren’t in “cauldrons of hatred” for the whole season.
Even in our home games at the MCG our supporters are usually out numbered .
This affects the players, and the umpires.
Not in 2021.

I continue to worry this has been done, perhaps early-ish in @Demonstone's career?
Anyways; I find it hard to assess whether clues are 'You call that a clue?!', 'Yeah, I can work with that', or 'C'mon, you're giving it away'.
Headline, though: this puzzle is not football related.
I guess that's a clarifier, not a clue. So, how's this work for you: Consider the title...
What title?

I know I’m hopelessly biased, but I cant believe the diabolical run our girls get with the umpires every week.
When there’s a scrimmage in our backline near the goals , it’s inevitable that a dubious 50:50 free will be awarded to the opposition. Breathe on them, and it’s 50 metres.
Questionable frees are given against us all over the ground, when identical incidents aren’t penalised for the opposition.
Is it because our girls tackle harder, or more often? Do they backchat the umps and put them off side?
It’s not just the 2 finals( presumably with the better umps), but the whole season.

22 hours ago, The heart beats true said: It’s a joke when the league claims the umpires don’t look at stats at half time.
Many umpire apologists claim the umpires can’t affect the result of a game.
They were clearly influenced by crowd noise in the first half. They must have been informed of it at half time, and came out with 5 straight frees to Bris.
If the umpires had kept up with the same errors of the first half, Geelong would have stayed in the game much longer.
The “noise of affirmation “is most obvious at Kardinia Park. With the odd shaped oval, training on their home deck, and travel for the opposition, Geelong should win the premiership every year. No wonder they’ve been up for so long.
They’re experts at sweeping misdemeanours under the carpet. I’m hoping this disappointing result will cause some disquiet in their administration.

If Kozzie did that, he’d get a life suspension.
