  1. I would have thought it would be a good learning exercise for Brock to see things from the other side. As someone put it....as part of his foot education & development. Nothing more.
  2. Lloyd is a shrewd thug. Got a bit of cunning about him that boy. Sprung this time and hung out to dry .He's an idiot. Wallis played like a thug but he was just not as subtle. Why compare?...Both have same spots. Same jumper. & play for the same scumbag class suburban outfit. But I digress......................... Ash, I couldn't give a toss what you think about my comments , other Demon posters comments, the Mfc or that bogan club that is Essendon. No one on this site needs your approval. Don't kid yourself. Whatever gets you through the day Ash is your business. Just try keeping it to yourself. And WTF haven't you moved on like you intended?
  3. But precious little as a human being.
  4. I recall Daniher making the remark that if the club were going to consider drafting Aker, the decision process would involve the playing and leadership group. We can only speculate as to the weight of their input, or can we?
  5. Agree WD. History tells the tale. Just ask Alan Joyce. You've probably noticed that the power of insight can be maligned.
  6. Great memories too WD. Got given my 1st ever Demons my jumper (long sleeves) from my dad who recieved it from the club in '1980. Had the original players VFL logo with the Mayne Nickless sponsors logo and the number '2' (& signed) on the back just to ice it all off. The logos were almost larger than the jumper! And it was the royal blue. I also recieved a letter from the club and all the sigs from the players and a comment of gratitude for my support from one 'big Carl' & Dick Seddon. It was one of my proudest moments. Despite the clubs poor form, I never copped S#!t from my mates at school because I was the only one who had an authentic VFL players jumper. They looked on in awe. Some of them even asked me if they could wear it at lunchtime or borrow it for the weekend! I wore it with pride. I Still have it. I still go to as many games as I possibly can. and I am still loyal! That colour is part of our heritage. Suit yourself Alpha. And close the bedroom door behind you! For me its not about the jumper or any crap like that. For me, and for every true & loyal supporter, its all about the club.
  7. Well, heres another rant. Totally agree Jerry. Lloyd is typically Lloyd, got caught out and deserves what he got. The tribunal has to draw a line somewhere. In the past he has got away with a far lot more & some I can't believe. Hence his record to date. As far as trash goes, he's up there with Wallis. Boo Hoo. So he'll miss Hirdy's 250. Like does anyone reckon the Melbourne FAITHFUL give a toss. The tribunal have made sure this little side show moves on outa here . Hasta La Vista Baby!.
  8. Agreed. Our season gone and the club is in a state of transition.
  9. Shoot me Bobby and others, but he is right. Our ticker is questionable. The sooner we accept this the soon we will act with purpose. I believe we are making baby steps, but our goal to be a powerful & feared club is still far from a reality. And NO to Mark Williams.
  10. I share your grief Alpha..but the real reason we failed as a club then had nothing to do with the jumper mate; moreso how the club was managed & those who were wearing it. If I could be there I would. Let go.
  11. Didn't you just say U were movin on. BTW I'm not surprised by what DMagikkk said . Yesterday, I saw him & Lloyd having coffee together on Commercial Road in Prahran.
  12. Looks like the peanut supporter is along for the ride. Time to move on.
  13. The contrast in opinions from within the club on Daniher's future and football issues has been unashamedly laundered through the press. Haven't you heard Maurie. Better switch on the ol' earin aid. And BTW, the club went to them. Its been regrettable. I hope that if the club had its time again it would have the sense to conduct themselves more appropiately & professionally. A commitment to an agreement and an internal process was what was reqiuired. And Maurie, loose lips sink ships. Heard that one? The club should go into lockdown to prevent any further unnecessary damage & Gardner should be thankful for the way Daniher has handled himself. And Maurie, Thomas & Butters was a classic case of non- football 3rd rate opera. Did you enjoy it? They might as well have asked the dogs for a years worth of page 3 exclusivity with 'The Truth'. In case you hadn't heard this gem either, it been whispered it had nothing to do with Sherrins, pies, 4 points and ladder positions. Turn the bloody thing up Maurie!
  14. Try this Rogue..... http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E19769,00.html
  15. Bollocks. Never give a mug an even break but love him or hate him Ed McGuire has a proven track record of success at the filth. He has the creds in the bank. Gardner has for the most part of his tenure been flying under the radar and quietly going through off field re-buiding matters. Being on the basement level, the only way for him has been up. He now faces very public & challenging times ahead. There has never been a better time for him to show his worth to the club & build credibility. Like it or not, he has gone public & has everyones critical gaze. Members & supporters will watch with great interest.
  16. I love your emotive optimism and positivity on this site Jaded, but Neita can still win a premiership?
  17. Correct. But someone forgot to tell goose Gardner. Agree WD & BJs. A gulf now exists within the club and the media is again all over this one. Unfortunately, the club is to blame.
  18. I'll keep it brief but you're quite right. Gardner said that he would conduct an end of season review. Problem is Redleg, we know he's no footy head but absoultely no one at the time would have imagined he was referring to Round 12. Would love you to tell me right now its the end of the season. But before you do, last time I looked its was only Round 13.
  19. Last night, one feature of his game I was very impressed with was his decision making and disposal in heavy traffic. It was something I hadn't seen a lot of and I am pleased to see his confidence growing with every game. I am thrilled for him. I hope he plays 200+ games for us. A gem.
  20. I would be lying if I could ever recall or even accuse the club of being aggressive in their pursuit of playing talent, although the recuritment landscape has changed somewhat now. However, our track record in the commitment to make the hard call with list management & 'pressure' other clubs in our pursuit of on field excellence has either been sporadic, misguided or non-existent. Gardner spoke about ticking boxes and how well the club has done off the field to get itself back on course. The one box he didn't tick and if anything, distanced himself from in the media, had been the football Dept. This year is over. As you say WD, any decision he makes now will not impact our drafting activity at seasons end. I'm interested to see what unfolds, what decisions he makes and subsequently what evolves, if anything, of the footy dept. As he has demonstrated over the past 2 weeks, the buck stops with him.
  21. Spculate is about it. The current sponsors would have been way onto this before round 1. FWIW the sponsor issues had arrived well before the clubs current moment. An announcement should be made before season's end. As I understand it, right atm there is no premiership coach available.
  22. Lets not be contradictory. The playing group are just as accountable for the performance of the club, as is the coach, president & boot studder. Neitz is a part of all of this. You are right Jaded, at the end of the day, excuses are simply that. Gardner did bring forward his agenda. Whether it it is right or wrong will always be open for debate. As a member I'm all for that. But the fact that as club leaders, both Neitz & Gardner going to the press to express their views demonstrates another example of a lack of discipline when under pressure. For years, this has been the one constant in the clubs performance.
