  1. Good to see the ace bring swung but not instilled with faith in some of the replacements. I think if we lose this , Goody definitely won't be coaching the MFC much longer for sure. But I think we actually have this one.
  2. In the words one famous MFC supporter......... whoo hoo
  3. I was going on last year's effort I couldn't bring myself to watch last week's game. So on that I'll give you the green light since I'm not up to speed. Mind you as mentioned in another thread, a garden gnome could do a better job than some of these blokes. Keep up the great support DJ, it's fans like you that keep this club going and will ultimately see us through these current dark ages. Your a better supporter than me.
  4. It's staggering to think that 15 of them are premiership players. And your right many of them are still in their prime or close to prime age. Especially Tracca and Oliver and Salo. Max and May are getting on in years and it's starting to show. But to be five and zip is mind numbing. Wth? And despite the pain of loosing out in straight sets twice how great was footy each week, with the expectation of winning? And as much as I'd love it to return, I'd be content just not to have the expectation of losing.
  5. Might possibly worth a try with Jvr in defence. But Petty fwd hasn't worked at all. And he was there for a while last year averaging less than a goal a game and getting moved too easily out of position. Could we try Tmac there again?
  6. He's so down on confidence it's a worry. Hes clearly better than this but what does one do to help him?
  7. leave it to deever posted a post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought perhaps the this thread was about someone stealing him/ her. In which case , I was going to ask the question everyone else would......WHY? And then add it won't be long before they return it. Hopefully with a couple of larger size ones that we could place in our our forward line as more effective decoys than the present bunch. Cheers. And can I suggest to all Dlanders, that there are some other great sports to watch, books to read, movies to see, hobbies to take up and countries to visit. It's a wonderful world outside of football. A rich tapestry of trinkets to collect, a cornucopia of fish to catch, a mountain gastronomical delights to eat, acres and acres of land to grow things in and millions of interesting people to meet. In fact, Im just about to publish my memoir. " The incredible misery except for a few years of over forty years of being a MFC follower." Wherever bad books are sold. And then I'll write some more screenplays on game days until things pick up. Life is too short to watch the type of footy our team has been serving up this year. Maybe your gnome just simple shrivelled up, died of shame and turned to dust. Don't do likewise. Do something else on game days. Follow a second team even or find anything. You deserve to live life to its fullest. Ps if your interested in investigating the church of Scientology please message me. Na.Only joshing. I'd rather watch us go down 20 zip. Well close maybe. 🤔
  8. What has happened to him? I thought last year would be a breakout year. It wasn't so I thought maybe this year. Sadly he has gone so far backwards, so quickly, it's hard to comprehend. And here's me thinking not long ago, he's our next DS or DN. Silly me.
  9. I'm not saying your wrong JB. It's a difficult job to rate with only 3 words. And I do appreciate and enjoy your work. But according to your assessment, 17 players were below par. Some a fair way below( no pun intended). I'm not saying your wrong either. A pretty damning summation. MFC.....where's the pride? ......where's the passion? ...where's the enthusiasm? ...where is Waldo? At this stage anyone's a good substitute.
  10. Shouldn't Tracca, Oliver and Sparrow been in their prime? Again no forward line means for five games in a row we can't kick more than 12 goals. And our backline seems to have followed our midfield and imploded making it even worse. Well at least Fritta kicked two...and improvement for him and Kozzie did the same but that only makes four. We have had to wheel out Melksham whose purple patch in late 23 was just that. Was great to see but he's well passed it. Prior to that purple patch he was always hot and cold. And along side him we have Jvr who i just don't know what's happened to the poor bloke. Disco and Petty fwd are not the answer either. So we are done. But sadly the fwd line issue was raised three years ago . That's how slow this club is to fix things. Scrap that because it still ain't fixed. I don't believe that the boys are playing with pride. Well some of them are. But way too many seem to be just turning up. And maybe if it was me, at times I'd be tempted to do the same . It's just a job. I get paid either way. But why are we watching then,? Why pay memberships? Why go to games? And a huge thank you to those of you still going. It's a twelve hour drive one way for me, so I don't get to many. I know you have to support in the bad times too and take the good times with the bad but do we really have to take this? But it has to go both ways. And I'm convinced this isn't our best. That's all. Just leave it all out there and if we lose, so be it. But this isn't the best of quite a few. Surely. I'm sure there are at least half a dozen out there who could have played harder and better than they did. As for Goody, it's far better to leave now than get sacked or retire at ten and zero. You will always have a cup and we are grateful but things are getting worse. Hopefully he can stem these losses but I can't see it happening. And it may not change much given the attitude/ performances of some of the players but at least allow him to save some face and like most clubs we get one win after a coach change. One thing to win just one flag with the list we had. And it was a great list. We could have had three cups. But this is something shocking to go from just missing out in 23( mostly due to losing Gus) to this. There must be something going on we are not privy too. Surely?
  11. I don't think we really need Clarrie. But we will get little for him. Hopefully he improves . But a big aak ATM.
  12. Sadly, this game day thread isn't as big as itc.used to be. I might change my name to the poster that helps manage the anger of Jack Viney's Anger Management.
  13. Lot of positivity here. Now for some doom. 2012 all over again. Although we do play well there. Surely the lads have some pride? Ok we've got this. I hope
  14. I'm sure this will inspire him. Them nappies and all things baby, cost a royal fortune. And let's all chip in and buy him a cot with very large posts on each end😀.
  15. Finally some bloody good news
  16. Is there anything at all we can do to fix our forward line? In the four games this year, the most goals kicked was only 11. In three games we couldn't even manage 10 goals. I mean some clubs have individuals that could manage that many by themselves. Have we left every stone unturned and tried every possible option? Now that our backline is struggling, we need at least 7 or 8 goals more to win a game. And yes I know we have injuries and some players are badly out of form, but surely there must be something we can do? Yes, No or maybe..... I mean there's not much more we have to lose by trying something different again. And to Goody' s credit, he has tried a couple of things. Staring down the barrel of five and zip requires drastic changes. The brainpower of the Demonland podcasters must have something up their collective craniums. Or at least, I hope so. Thanks guys for the effort and time you give with these. I look forward to another interesting and informative call. And hopefully some fruitful solutions.
  17. Most of your posts suggest you drink too much. Have you been over doing again Bing? The reason I ask is because I never said he could. Your reading things that aren't actually said. Perhaps you could use a hiccup emoji ,😀
  18. Maybe there's more money if he sticks around then gets shown the door. In these tough times, it's hard to blame him but there are people here I'm sure doing it tougher that pay their membership so there's that. Or maybe he still thinks he's the best man for the job. He's either to be applauded for staying on a sinking ship or condemned for selfishly taking a cheque each month for this tripe. He's got a flag under his belt so he can be reasonably forgiven for hanging on. It's not necessarily selfish but please turn things around next week. Failure to do so will see most people see him rightly or wrongly in the selfish camp. And it's then a slippery slope until he's shown the exit regardless of his motives. It's a tough gig this coaching game. A lifespan not too dissimilar to a liberal party leader for a while there. Best of luck to you Simon. We at least owe you that much.
  19. Big game tomorrow. Let's hope the giants eat the eagles and we are not cellar dwellers for a while.
  20. I'd say they have already been wasted. Not all but the perfect combo of experience and age has gone by. Max used to beat the cats all by himself. He looked a shadow yesterday Tracca and Oliver and Viney have gone from the best midfield to meh to average the way they fumble. Our backline was a shambles yesterday and most of the year. Our fwd line ...well we all know about that. So to use the present term in wasting is fairly generous JJJ. At least the club has done well collecting some youngsters. As long as they are not infected by some of the poor senior players
  21. Looked to be a chance in the third until the umps stepped in to change the momentum. But lacking key fwds and now apparently defenders. Our lack of recruiting feds is really coming to bight us back. More pain ahead. Goody should jump now before he is pushed. Won't make much difference but it might at least get us a couple of wins as coach changes usually do. It's just hard to fathom why we handballed so much , so quickly ( like the ball was ticking) and often to the opposition. Our kicking was just as bad. And poor Max seemed a shadow of the guy that used to give Geelong players nightmares.
  22. Shadow of his shadow. Combine our other two fwds in Jvr and disco and all three once again give another massive three goal return Same old same old. Bye Simon. I appreciate the flag but not fixing our glaring fwd line for three years now is negligence. Thanks for the memories. Not like you can be trusted to do anything different next week. The umps too didn't helped. Destroying our third quarter momentum. Goody should say something because he's. finished.
  23. Once again a non existent fwd line fielded with the hope of it kicking ten goals. Fat chance. Bye Simon.
  24. For months. Makes Max look like a sharp shooter
  25. Yep
