Hey Guys. I might trial today SMS talk-back at the Coburg v Sandy broadcast. We hope to speak to Brett Lovett (coach) sometime during the pre-game show between 1pm and 2pm. The SMS Talk-Back number will be 0419 098 477. Also you can stream the broadcast now via your mobile phone! Go to vradio.org and search for 1611 AM Melbourne, under the "Oldies, 80's & 90's" group. Have a good day at the footy... Peter (1611 AM www.doublex.com.au)

An Important Game for Sandringham this SUNDAY in the VFL. Currently one win outside the Top 8, The Zebras host Geelong who are two wins outside the 8 with this being the 4th last round of the year. Interesting to note that 7th and 8th (who are one win above Sandy) play each other on Saturday! Opponent: Geelong (10th) When: Sunday - Bounce at 2pm Where: Trevor Barker Beach Oval Radio Coverage: 3XX 1611 AM Melbourne (from 1PM) Internet Stream: www.doublex.com.au

G'day Everyone. An Important game for the Zebras is this weekend. Currently in 7th place, they play the 9th placed Northern Bullants. Both sides are on 7 wins for the year, but the Bullants have a weak percentage. A loss for the Zebras could see Sandy drop out of the 8. This game will be played at MC Labour Park - start time is 2.00pm, Sunday 3 August 2008. Radio Coverage is on 3XX 1611 AM from 1pm and is also streamed live at www.radio1611.com.au Have a good Sunday at the Footy Peter (from 1611 AM)

They are on 1611 AM Melbourne this week - or if you aren't in Melbourne on www.radio1611.com.au Coverage starts at 1pm and the bounce is at 2pm I HOPE there are no technical problems for the Sunday team this week (I'm told the problem has been fixed - but I've heard that one before too many times in this industry!!!)

Hi Everyone. Though I am not a part of our station's Sunday team (I run the Saturday team) I'd like to apologise on behalf of the station for yesterday's non coverage. First of all I thank the demonland board for allowing us to post for whenever we do cover Sandringham games. From what I gather (I have heard this 2nd hand) there seemed to be a technical malfunction at Williamstown on Sunday. To explain how we broadcast - unlike other stations we don't use delay-free CODECS (as we don't have the $14,000 for them), we stream via wireless broadband back to our studios which puts us on a 30-45 second delay. (On saturdays with set up an 87.9 FM Local Transmitter for delay free coverage). On Saturdays we use a 3G Modem, while the Sunday team and their techo use a Telstra Modem. From what I can gather, it seems they couldn't get a signal or the computer that day didn't like the modem and we could not establish a link between the ground and the studio. I believe that Sunday techo is going to get a 3G mobile modem thing to use as a back up next time. Again on behalf of the station I apologise for the non-broadcast - it's the first time we've failed to put nothing of a scheduled game to air and we hope it never happens again. I thank you for your support so far, not just of our station 1611 AM, but of the other community stations that cover VFL including Casey radio and 3WBC. Also guys this game will be on the Radio at 1611 AM in Mebourne and on the internet at www.radio1611.com.au The VFL have also UPDATED their website - so in the broadcast section you'll see what radio station is covering what game right up until round 12 - for what the ABC TV are covering, you'll need to download the fixture. Cheers... Peter. P.S. If you CAN go to the game on Sunday GO!!!! It's free, it'd be fantastic to have at least 3 or 4 thousand there.

G'day Everyone. Sandringham v Bendigo will be the only VFL game on this Saturday, so all coverage will be on that. TV - ABC1 will have the game live in Victoria from 1pm (unsure if on in Tassie) Radio & Internet - 3XX 1611 AM in Melbourne from 1pm and on the internet at www.radio1611.com.au Radio - 3SER 97.7 FM in Melbourne's South-East I hope that helps, especially those outside the Melbourne Metro area, so you can catch up with your Zebras. Pete.

Hi - I'm one of the other guys from 1611 AM - Peter Holden, who calls on the Saturdays. If things go well and we can arrange a chat with Andy Lovell before each game we do, I might bring back again the "Ask the Coach" segment. That was last year we did with Leigh Tudor of Geelong and Andy Collins of Coburg a segment where we would get fans to ask the questions. It wasn't quite talk-back, but what we did was the week leading up to the game we set up a thread on fan fourms (like this) to allow fans to post questions to the coach. Then on pre-game we would ask your questions. So watch this space, if things go well with Andy this week, we'll ask if he is up for "ask the coach" at some stage during the season. By the way, if you are looking at going to the game, it's at Northport (TEAC Oval). Just taake any train to the city and get off at Southern Cross Station. Then Catch the Port Melbourne tram from Collins Street (or out the front of Crown/Exhibition Centre) and get off at Northport. Have a good day at the footy. Peter. (P.S. Later in the week we put the interview and highlights in our website, so you can listen back then if you miss it live)

It's state v state footy this weekend Six Sandringham players are in the Big V Side... Summers, Sautner, Biddlecombe, Valenti, Poyas, Crowe The State Game kicks off at 1.10pm, but there is a game on before hand from 10.30am between the VFL U/23's North v South (I don't happen to have on me the list of who is playing in that game) Now here is the guide on... How to get there Teac Oval is located on Williamstown Road in Port Melbounre. I would suggest you don't drive as parking can be a bugger near that ground. Public Transport is your best bet. Just take any train to Southern Cross (Spencer Street) Station and walk to Collins Street. You want to hop on the 109 Tram going to Port Melbourne. Get off at the Northport Ligh Rail stop and walk back to the crossing that you have just passed - that is Raglan Street. Turn Left (heading in the direction of the Bolte Bridge) and walk a few blocks to Williamstown Road - you should then be at the ground. Remember it's only a gold coin donation to get into the game Footy records sell at the ground for $3. How/When to watch The game will be shown in the following states on ABC TV... Victoria - Live from 1PM Tasmania - On delay from 3PM WA - On delay from 2PM (Local Time) How/Where to Listen Radio 1611 AM 3XX - All Over Melbourne from 12 Noon ALSO streaming live on the net at www.radio1611.com.au (Click "Listen Live") 97.7 FM Casey Radio - South East Melbourne from 9am 990 AM Information Radio - Perth, Western Australia from 10.30am (Local Time) I hope that keeps you informed, and I hope to see ya all at the game GO BIG V Peter Holden Radio 1611 AM - 3XX http://www.radio1611.com.au
