  1. This is a very strange season so far... if we manage to win this one, we are essentially just one win and percentage out of the 8 (and no, I'm not daring to dream we could make the finals...just making an observation). With this week's fixture, there is every chance that from 9th position down to 13th position will all be on 16 points and one game out of the 8 (positions 6, 7 & 8 all on 20 points).

And we've had a tougher draw so far than some of those around us.

  7. Your spot on about Boags. I was fortunate enough to experience that back in October this year. Was very enjoyable. Loved their Wizard Smith Ale which sadly isn't for purchase outside Tassie.

That sucks big one's re the names. And sadly your right, the cost of court proceeding sup front are very steep and then if you loose become life shattering.....

I hope you blokes sober up by the start of the season.

  8. Surely it would be in the players interests to be able to cross examine Charter and Alavi, for I have no doubt that ASADA will be introducing evidence they have garnered from them. The evidence will have less value than if they attended but the players will not be able to cross examine, so for mine I think the players are the big losers and ADADA can say we did our best to get them here but they declined.

Yes, Charter and Alavi declined to appear and the players, although represented at the Supreme Court don't appear to have made a big fuss about them attending.

How can they turn around and complain later on that they don't have the opportunity to cross examine them on their evidence.

If you're going to draw inferences, they are that that the players didn't particularly want them to give evidence because they felt that such evidence would not help their prospects of proving that they weren't given tb4.

  9. Actually, the performance of the midfield depends on a number of factors and not simply the personnel playing there. You need to take into account the tactics the coaches apply to midfield contents and the performance of the rucks as well. Even this year, our mids performed at their best when Jamar did well in the ruck. When he ran out of steam late in the season because of a lack of preseason training and we lost Cross, the midfield performance slipped.

  10. Post-season medical room

The Demons are confident they will have the majority of their list up and running ahead of the start of pre-season training. Melbourne had four players in for post-season surgery – Dom Tyson (finger), Bernie Vince (shoulder), Max Gawn (knee) and Dean Terlich (ankle). Tyson spent a short time in a sling, but has come through without any obvious afflictions. In further positive news for the Demons, Jack Trengove (foot) and Jake Spencer (ankle) have started their running programs and the belief is they will both be close to full training when the club resumes after the break. Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney told AFL.com.au the club was happy with how it was positioned from an injury standpoint, "The low number of injuries puts us in a really good position to hit the ground running at the start of pre-season with the vast majority of players training." - Ben Guthrie
