Trust me, you may be the fittest bloke on the list who has completed the whole pre season without missing a session, an intra club match in between, and it still doesn't stop you from blowing up completely in the first 5 minutes of a practice match b

Top post @dino rover. There is a significant body of research supporting the Dunning-Kruger effect, which describes how individuals with low ability in a particular domain often overestimate their competence. Recent studies delve deeper into this phenomenon, suggesting that the most dangerous person in any organisation may be the one who is both incompetent and unaware of their incompetence. This combination can lead to overconfidence, poor decision-making, and an inability to recognize or correct errors, potentially causing significant harm to the organisation and its stakeholders.
I found it interestingÂ
apparently Branson explains his success as not be being the smartest guy in the room but consulting and convening the smartest
i thought in the context of our President and her ability as a media performer it was relevant to consider her role and need to steer not row
also to reflect on some posts and posters

âThe Dunning-Kruger (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effect) effect is a well-known psychological phenomenon that describes the tendency for individuals to overestimate their level of intelligence, knowledge, or competence in a particular area. They may also simultaneously misjudge the intelligence, expertise, or competence of others. In other words, they are ignorant of their own ignorance.â
Is there wide application to this discussion?
how many posters have any experience in a governance role or a senior executive role?
how many know the difference between a board/ director role and an executive role?
A boardâs role is to steer not row.
the President doesnât have to be the primary spokesperson for the organisation or negotiate with an employee as suggested here
mostly the judgement here has been on the media skills or lack thereof of roffey as if that is the one determining factor in judging a presidentÂ
and at the end of the day CP having courted alternatives stays put!

This is why heâs pivoted away from football. Â
The devil works hard, but his management works harder.Â
ÂPeople are severely underestimating how much money Trac is making outside of football for everyone in his inner circle.Â
Some of his current brand deals would be worth in the hundreds of thousands. Heâs not working with some chicken shop down the road. Heâs working with big brands. Global brands.ÂCash converters?

For a deal to get done both sides need to win
we donât have a surplus of elite mids so the deal would have to fix another problem like a forward who can ruck and backfill for Trac - that is a major challengeÂ
A team with a weak midfield but still some tradeable assets for Trac? Which club fits that script?

This is such an important point.
One of the (many) things that really frustrates me about how footy is covered by the media is the thread of blatant hyprocicy that runs through it.
Take the way clarry's situation has been coveredÂ
Media people love to bang on how great footy clubs are in terms of 'wrapping their arms around' players who are experiencing personal issues.Â
But then all season they get stuck into clarry and the club because it's great for clicks.
And give the club very little, if any, kudos for how they have wrapped their arms around claz and support him through what is probably the most difficult period of his young life.
And, similarly don't give claz kudos for his commitment and the work he is doing.
It's particularly galling when it's ex players who are being hypocritical given every one of them would understand how challenging the whole thing us.
Even more galling is the completely disingenuous coverage about all things players struggling with mental health issues.
Actually, disingenuous is being kind. The media is a huge part of the problem and rarely a meaningful part of the solution.
If it bleeds it leads

The larger game is a 36 year old with 1000 injuries collecting a pay cheque like Ben Brown was this year.
Itâs ok to just be patient with veterans and sign them when required.
If the club needed a sugar hit of a Gawn extension we are in big trouble.
We donât know the specifics of the contractÂ
why couldnât the club contract so that if Gawn isnât available a lesser payment is made?
the assumption that we pay the same salary if players play or donât play - can we assume that?
