then why are we paying a person so much to do this. I'll do it for free, pick a bunch of players based on others opinions, have no responsibility and hang round the club for a year, sounds like a good deal... He needs to be a part of their support team and nuture them into league players... He has the ultimate say on which player to pick up, so if they turn into duds, it has to be partly his fault.

Some of the blame must fall on CAC's shoulders though... CAC cant just say here are 7 new players, they are your problem now, i have done my job. I think CAC has been very good for us, but he has made mistakes and people need to stop making excuses for him. Just like if the coach, a player or a board member makes a mistake, they own up to it.

On CAC, i guess only time will tell if he really has built a good list. He has a very good reputation with picking up smokies late in the draft and in rookie drafts but Molan at 9 was iffy, and Sylvia and 3 is proving to be iffy so far.

the only problem with that is geelong's talent is about 100 times better than ours... look down the spine. N Ablett - Neitz........ the only win for us here, not enough to make up for all the other losses Mooney - Miller........ well enough said really G Ablett - McLean..... i love brock but he is no Ablett Egan - Frawley?........ Chip will be good but not next year, development for him Scarlett - Carroll....... we all know how chop struggles as a stand alone FB Ottens - White........... one is in the prime, the other on the decline and thats not mentioning Bartell, Johnson, Corey, Milburn, Harley etc. finals will be a good effort for us next year... i would love to see the sylvia's, moloney's etc. really come on next year and form our core midfield group for the next 7-8 years. Along with Newton and Frawley improving we will see some exciting footy in 08

i fail to see why any club would let go a 'future gun' and struggle even more to see how carlton and richmond will pass him up if he is going to be a 'future gun'.

correct! people have to realise that the club is bigger than the individual. Travis has been payed top dollar for the past 10 seasons and he has done not much, and as much as i have loved watching him tear it up twice a year it is not enough! These are the hardest decisions to make but are the decisions that need to be made. They hurt at the time but it hurts a hell of a lot more to have sat through 20 years with no premiership! I know first hand the effect he has had on some of the younger players at the club and the club has seen this and is acting upon it, good decision if you ask me.

i remember one queens b'day we were down by 5 goals at half time then shaw did his knee and we came back to win easily... 2003 maybe??? he was in AA form before that knee, maybe a change of club will do him good...

If your an up and coming superstar of the game, do all the drugs you want, we wont tell anyone because we can make all the money we want off you...

what can be done to ensure that everyone turns up? i remember last time that we had numbers overflowing on the site and then were 10 short. i know its hard to get people to commit but i think people should try and be as honest as possible... i know none of the guys signing up would purposfully do it but it happened last time so yeah... try and rock up if you say you will, its a great day!! wish i was there.... good luck to all
