We're not in a position to do this so I very much doubt it... Sides in years gone by such as Geelong during their dominate years did this but they had the luxury of a top 4 even a top 2 spot sewn up and could afford to do this... A young side battling for a spot in the 8 is unlikely & foolish if the conditioning staff have done so

Everyone needs to chill out... I think are we lose sight of where we are at, we are in unique situation where we have had a succession plan which is only the 2nd one in the league recent memory (the other been Sydney who still had the core of a premiership side). Goodwin is in his first season will full reins and we are building from a lower base then just about any club, expansion sides exempt but they had the draft concessions to build off... I am as frustrated as anyone but I'm looking at the bigger picture, we after 10 years in the wilderness are on track... Goodwin has us playing a style of football that will take us to the top & will stand up in finals football. It's frustrating because we have had glimpses & tatses throughout the year and we just want more and more of it but we are trending the right way.. You look at the players listed below and you realise we are that season or 2 away from really consistent football week in, week out they say players don't find their feet and stamp themsleves on the comp until the 70-80 game mark.. Brayshaw - 33 games Frost - 56 games Hannan - 17 games Harmes - 31 games Hogan - 49 games Hunt - 38 games McDonald - 34 games Neal Bullen - 31 games Oliver - 32 games Petracca - 36 games Salem - 45 games Stretch - 35 games Weidemen - 9 games Add to that the coach has has 19 games in the seat.. It takes time & because we have been so bad for so long we are impatient, we'll get there people dont stress. I'll also throw in the injuries we have had this year.. You take anysides co-captains out, all australian ruckmen, full forward, 3rd key forward, half back flanker for extended periods, see how they go.. GWS have had a horrible run but when your depth runs as deep as theirs it's easier to cover

No idea who we would rather win today out of St.Kilda & West Coast... WC win sort of ends St.Kildas hopes but they gain a game on us & a St.Kilda win gives them some momentum and hope... Not sure why I give a flying [censored] really

I do think we are way back in terms of the broadcast & the use of technology... In the NFL they can see if a ball is caught or hit the ground down to the last millimeter (as much as I don't want to relive it but that catch by Edelman in the SB) yet over here the score review system is pathetic, a pixelated shot from miles away to see if it hit the post or was touched of the boot, I'm sure with the billion dollar TV rights they could come up with something better than what we have now. When I first started watching I was staggered to find out there is up to a 4 year gap between playing sides but the more I've watched and learnt from more I understand & obviously with a 32 team comp it's the only way around it. I still do find it strange how the 2 best teams could be in the same conference so the 2 best sides don't always make the SB but guess you get the conference championship game for that.. I do like the divison set up though, as I've stated before it gives supporters & teams hope each year that they can make a run at the playloffs and unless a side is a run away in the divison the games late in the season have meaning as you are always thereabouts in the divison

Funny thing is apart from the 10 minute mark of the 1st quarter to quarter time we seemed to have more of the play & more ball inside 50.... We just need to learn when sides get a run on to shut the game down like Gws did in the 2nd quarter.. Goodwins built a style of footy which will hold up in finals, just not the #hitty wind swept tassie & canberra!

FFS... Can't believe I drove 7 hours to see this sh*t, genuinely thought we'd get the win today & after the first 3 goals was up and about.... Have to win the last 3 to make the finals & I have no confidence in that!

I was absolutely seething yesterday afternoon... After a few beers pondering by myself around the fire pit outside I came to peace with it all. This year is just not ment to be our year, it never was but when you add in all the injuries, suspensions, health problems we have faced it seriously wasn't going to be our year. Yeah people will throw up "but it's an open year anyone can win it" truth is we aren't good enough yet, we are still young & in year ONE of Goodwin with the full reins... You look at the Dogs of 2015, we are probably about the same at this stage we make an elimination final & maybe we win, maybe we don't but this side is going places and if people can't see that I feel sorry for them. We've gone from an absolute basket case for 10 years, it just doesn't turn at the flick of a switch. This side is still learning and you gotta learn to walk before you run. Let's all just enjoy the fact that we are in with a more than good chance of playing in September, lets enjoy the ride for the last month of the season. It's the least we all deserve after the last decade.

We are kicking against a hurricane and after it looked like North were going to get a hold of us we shut the game down and go in a goal down with a huge wind at our backs having said that I've seen numerous games where the wind doesnt get sides home so we'll have to play this quarter smart, if we lose than the criticism seen on here so far will be warranted

Training camp started today & I'd thought that would close the chapter on that horrible day. It's funny in our game it's always "you got to lose one to win one" yet in the NFL the losing SB side is always bound for a "hangover" and history backs it up. In some ways it's easier to win one in the NFL, be the best of 4 sides & make the playoffs and anything can happen yet it's so hard in different ways. In AFL sides until last year had to finish top 4 for a genuine shot but get a double chance..

We'll lose this week but beat GWS next... I've finally worked this side out, my gut feeling has been right about this side most times this year
