Leadership group to be announced tonight.
I'm betting Viney will be in it this year.

I have it on good authority that the club haven't open discussions yet with Jack as he's been smiling too much at training.....

Surely there are not any on here anymore who seriously think we cannot beat essendrug?
I think we could almost find a way to lose.
Sorry, but I'm still numb from all the shock loses of the past to be as confident as many posters on here.
I don't care about us flogging them, I'd be happy just to win it.

Was Jack Trengove sighted WJ? If so, how did he look?
I went along for around an hour. I only saw a couple of drills, by they did warms ups etc.
Grimes, JKH in rehab. At a later stage Tyson and Trac pulled out of the main group. Tyson did monitored laps and Trac did other drills away from group.
Trenners was out there and looked fine. Lumumba also, looked pretty quick.
Standouts for me - Hoges, Hulett for pure body size (I was shocked), Trac (love everything about him and reckon the Saints are going to be kicking themselves).
Sorry but others might be able to provide more info, if I remember anything else I'll post.

From what I saw at training today he seemed both match fit and in touch. Expect him a smokey for this Sunday, the following Sunday, Round One of the VFL and then the opening Round of the AFL.
Did you see the tackling drill Trac and Crossy were doing? Trac was a man mountain against poor Crossy, just wrapped him up every time.

I watched him a bit at training today, and without trying to jinx the kid....but he is good.
Pinpoint kicks, strong frame, appears quick, good leap and can take a grab - watched him take speccies over Crossy who was wearing the mat thing.
Can't wait to see him out there.

Wormburner - I haven't had the chance to see him.
Where would you see him playing at this stage? Flank? Forward? Back?
Hopefully eventually KPP forward or back?
To me he looks like he'd be a third tall up forward, from the limited amount I've seen of him I don't think he's ready to be KPP forward yet. He'll worry a few opposition players with his height and size though....bring it on!

Went along to training this morning. First time I've seen Hulett, he is one big boy. Very similar body shape to Vanders.
i hope he gets a run this weekend. Excited to see him crash a few packs too.

Understand your sentiment and I don't make short term judgements on players - they play for our club after all - but DT has had plenty of chances. I don't doubt his endeavour and commend him for working hard in the off season but his inability to hit targets kills us coming out of the backline.
Frawley changed his kicking style and was much more reliable in his later years at hitting targets, so it can be done. I will watch with interest and hope that he can eliminate that bad habit.
I agree, he has had a lot of chances. Although I think that playing well in the VFL and not being able to get a senior game would have hurt .
Anyways, it'll be a great step forward for our club when we don't have to cringe or worry about some of our players disposals every time they get it.

Would surprise me.
If he didn't turn it over at least 3 times....
Give him a chance. From what everyone's saying he's doing everything right, he knows it's make or break.....lets get behind him.

SEN is reporting that Hawthorn are looking for Fitzy to replace Roughead. He is another guy who will be better for being in a high quality team.
He can enjoy some wins, heaven knows any player who battled away with the Dees during the hard times then let go, deserves everything the game can give him.
I fully understand and support why we let him go but he has always been one of my faves and would love for him to get a long run in the seniors with the Hawks.
Agree, battled hard IMO. Just as long as he doesn't kick a goal against us, I'll be happy.

Dawes is in the rehab group. No taping that I could see. Moved pretty well, kicked and marked with Lumumba.
Pedo was part of the main sessions, covered the ground decently, looks in as good a nick as I've seen him at the club, did still go in to his lumbering gait when approaching a couple of contests which cost him time. But he also laid a couple of really strong tackles. He appears like he needs match fitness to get used to game specific efforts, but that's true of a lot of big guys.
Frost has a brilliant turn of speed, but flies for his marks without a hope in hell of holding them, the ball bursts off his hands and if he doesn't settle before he kicks it can go anywhere. He's a stronger, possibly faster version of Fitzy but with similar skills.
Mitch King jogged laps.
I suggest we forget all the hypothetical [censored] and see what happens.
Just remember Frost hasn't played in almost 12 months. You'd expect him to be a bit untidy, esp in match sim and under pressure. Give him time.

Shockingly most people open up a thread to read about the subject topic and don't check threads 18 times a day to monitor every slight movement away from the topic at hand.
Agree. I'm still asking myself why did I have to scim over all that dribble and waste an hour of my life. I certainly don't feel any better for it.
If the posters in question think it is a topic worth discussing or debating, then start a thread for it and DON'T derail another one.

Had a break from this place
Welcome back. Saw you at training prior to Xmas. What was the go with the orange hair and blue beard? Someone suggested you lost a bet?

Enjoy guys!

Training Pics Wednesday 9/3/16

I drove past Gosch's just before midday and saw what looked to be the rehab group consisting of Trac, Trenners, JKH and Smith (I think). They were doing 200m run thoughs and there was no mucking about, there was literally around 5 seconds rest before having to turn around and go again, JKH led every time but all moved very well and pushed themselves. I returned past 20 min later and Trenners and Trac were running the boundary at pace.
I really can't decide on who I'm more excited to see on the park. But going from the way they're moving, I don't think we'll have to wait long to see either.
