  1. Supporting the Melbourne Football Club is like being married forever to a totally unfaithful woman - you love her dearly, however she keeps playing up on you, making you more and more miserable whilst your friends laugh at you

  2. Wasn't Peter Jackson appointed interim CEO on the morning of this media release on the 7.30 report

The AFL have known without doubt that Melbourne had dealings with Dank at least 2 weeks ag,o they had no issue with us sacking Scwab as they wanted Jackson in at Melbourne to be seemingly cleaning up the mess.

The AFL is brilliant at creating smoke screens and to be seen as an elite governing body.

They deliberately leak information into the media and are aware every club is involved with sports medicine science and that players have been injecting themselves.

The Brisbane lions during their premeirship years were topping themselves up with intravenous drip lines at half time in matches

The AFL is a giant PR company

  3. Sue Dunne mother of Lynden made a late night call to SEN after the essendon loss and said something along the lines of the coaches at Melbourne should be shot for what they are doing to the boys

Was she referring to a drug supplement program?

  4. To start off - Get over yourself mate - How often do you read Demonland?? - a lot of opinion on here is based on emotions with very little fact. There are some good debats but you don't have to look too far to see a lot of emotion based opinon which is why I made my comment

    Back to your points

I agree with what you are saying - The Dees this seasons have showed very little in terms of progress..... They lack a lot of basic fundementals in their game (tackling, ability to win 1 v 1 contests and decision making have all been very disturbing)

What you've haven't read of my prior posts is I am asking how much can be put simply down to Neeld's fault - and how much can be put back on to the players with lack of leadership, experience and work rate to match it with quality teams

Can you say with zero doubt that experienced and highly rated men in Craig and Mission have no idea what they are doing (Development coaches and assistants). It's hard to implement a game plane when the cattle isn't up to the task.

People on here argue Neeld threw out our leaders - give me a list of leaders who left the club??? I can only think of James McDonald and Rivers (and Rivers choose to leave the club)

What you fail to acknowledge in your argument is that you don't go to training, you don't know what the club/Neeld are focusing on, you don't know who is putting in and who isn't. You don't know what the instructions are, you don't know anything about the inner working

It's easy to just simply blame the coach for all the wrongs, replace him and expect all the problems to disappear. What you lack in your argument is a lot of facts. Your fact are based on obesrvations from the outside.

I sure know from reading training reports that combative 1 v 1 training and tacking was a focus - why is it failing on field now??

There are no easy answeres here - Neeld or whoever is in charge will not have an easy task. How long will it take to clean up this mess? Surely longer then 18 months - what if the new coach fails to produce in a year - does he get fired too???

You have a nice theory - but a lot of theories don't work in practice - maybe you should have that converstion with Neeld

    Unleash Hell

You are upset however you want facts, pure facts about the current Melbourne Coach Mark Neeld which you or nobody can dispute.

Mark Neeld was the coach when we lost against Essendon at the MCG our home ground for 150 years by the biggest ever margin.

Is our team talent wise the worst in 150 years no way.

The teams Robert Flower played in were extremely ordinary throughout much of his career

    Sack Neeld ASAP

  5. Last year I was savaged by posters on this site for pointing out the bleeding obvious. I will state it again.

Neeld is missing a major skill required to have success as a senior coach. This is the skill to be able to get the most out of your players. Neeld has no ability to create the confidence and self belief required to be an AFL coach. The number of players who play as a shadow of the players they were prior to last season in staggering. Virtually all players have gone backwards despite them being mostly low draft picks, young and up coming. I watch as our x players who were moved on suddenly find there lost ability at new clubs and point to this as further evidence. At the same time our recruits from other clubs suddenly struggle to get a kick, struggle to play.

I said it last year and I will say it again now. Neeld is not our man. He may be tough and smart, he may have a good footy brain but he is missing the skill of installing self belief and confidence while still being tough. He must be sacked ASAP. The perfomances since he became coach have been beyond appauling. Come season end we will see another wave of our better players asking to be traded or leaving through free agency if we don't get someone in who can install the most important thing in football........ self belief. Further we will be unable to trade for any quality recruit as the MFC will continue to seen as poison for any players career. We must get rid of Neeld before more damage is done.

Absolutely spot on best most accurate post I have read in a long time

To those worried about finding a new coach there are plenty of quality coaches which we could try and get: Williams, Sheedy, Roos, Ayres, Matthews, Thompson or Ratten

  6. The only players who should definately stay in the team against GWS are: Jones, Matt Jones, Terlich, Slyvia, Clark, Evans, Grimes, Howe, Viney, Trengrove, Davey & Bail as they have showed at least something in the games thus far.

Players who have showed nothing are : Watts, Frawley, Garland, Jamar, Sellar, Pederson, Rodan, Byrnes, Gillies, Dunn

Very common theme, senior players are not playing with effort or conviction, reason why - not playing for coach they hate him and his coaching style and game plan

  7. DFW, I won't respond as rudely as you, but I'm happy to debate your comment.

There are a core group of players at the club who want to succeed, are happy to be challenged and realise the urgency of what it takes to be an AFL footballer.

They have been CHALLENGED by the coach (es), fitness staff, their peers and they have an altruistic desire to succeed.

The AFL environ is tough and most of our players need a wake up call.

Neeld is measured, articulate and has a burning desire to succeed with everyone around him.

FWIW, Port's list is very good and they recruited very well over the pre-season. Their better players have come back after injury.

Neale Daniher's list was ready to go.....

Jumbo sorry for being rude but your post was ordinary

Neeld has not made one improvement to our on field performance we have gone backwards his time is finished.

Now on a more positive thought pattern what do you think of Mark Williams as our next coach as he is gettable

  8. I'd have sheedy or Williams, both plenty of experience, I hear Williams is good with the young talent and sheedy wouldn't take any crap

I like your thoughts Williams won a premeirship at Port Adelaide with plenty of critism of his actions yet still suceeeded

He also has plenty of passion

  9. A question to fellow Demons if we could have one of the following premiership coaches to replace Neeld would you want it

    Sheedy

    Mark Williams

    Paul Roos

    Leigh Matthews

Our Board must pursue a new coach otherwise they are derelict in their duties.

It doesn't matter if we beat GWS or not it's time our club got fair dinkum

  10. Bing if the team doesn't have the skills, fitness or experience to employ the game plan devised by Neeld you have score blowouts which loses sponsors, junior supporters and time allocated on free to air TV.

If we continue with Neeld their is a really strong case we could lose Frawley, Watts and Sylvia at years end without seeing what a new experienced coach could get out of them

Its about time we employed an experienced coach who has won a premiership to give our supporters some hope

  11. Nutbean a good coach devises a game plan that suits his particular group of players best which includes fitness levels, skill of players etc

An inexperienced coach puts a game plan in place which doesn't suit the players he has at his disposal and hence you get huge score blowouts in Neeld's case the worst result by a demon side in 150 years of footy

  12. Nutbean finally you are making some sense

Now please demonstrate some points of improvement we have made under Neelds coaching regime.

Fitness - not able to be seen

Game Plan - What game plan

Defense - What defense (160 point loss coupled with 84 margin in a half of footy

Hope - Neeld doesn't have the answers

  13. Nutbean your right about one thing it is easier to sack a coach than a team never most likely been done in 150 years of footy.

Neeld goes pure and simple and with a new coach hope rises at the moment we are trapped in a losing cycle and after suffering our largest ever loss at the MCG in 150 years we have a [censored] coach

  14. Please allow me to elaborate on something that won't change from coach to coach.

    Fitness

    Accountability

    Professionalism

    Pride

    Values

    Respect

    Competing

    Contesting

    Team work

Only half a dozen players on our list have these core characteristics.

The rest are not up to AFL standard.

Jumbo what a load of crap you stated - every point you put down can be improved by a new coach who the players respect and want to play for.

From your opinions it seems you know very llittle about how a change of coach can quickly change things around current example Port Adelaide Past Example Daniher at Melbourne

  15. I'm not a school teacher. I just prefer to spell things correctly.

And his boxing sessions were about emasculating the younger players, just as it was for Brock McLean.

Moloney made his own call. If he hadn't been lazy and egotistical, he'd have played a role for the team. It's not about any one individual.

I agree a good coach gets the best out of his players, but what Bailey got out of him was not the best and if it was it's not worth it. Moloney was endemic of the Bailey era. If we were playing an interstate team at the 'G he'd turn up. He rarely got it down against good opposition.

Adam withot being rude please tell me of a midfielder over the past 6 years other than James Macdonald who regularily won centre clearances out of the middle

  16. Moloney, spell it correctly, was a down hill skier who was not a leader. Neeld was trying to teach him some semblance of discipline. Moloney wouldn't cop it. Off he goes. It's the way Neeld has treated the rest of the players and generally the place, rubbishing it in the media etc. that has left a lot to be desired.

I agree that it will be tough to retain Watts and Frawley if Neeld remains at the helm come season's end.

Adam are you a school teacher correcting me on spelling

Who the bloody hell do you think took the young players down to warrnambool every year and organized a boxing session over a couple of days.

Neeld got rid of a heart and soul player for the Dees because he couldn't get the best out of him.

A good coach gets the best out of his players and doesn't destroy young talent and [censored] off all the core senior players because of his autoractic leadership style

  17. Mark neeld is not a motivator of players he is a person who is must have total control in an autocratic manner

Got rid of Maloney, Rivers & Pettard all good melbourne senior players and replaced them with Rodan, Byrnes & the dud from the roos.

Slapped every senior demon player in the face by appointing 2 super young captains and got rid of every senior player who had an opinion

Where did neeld come from a power house team full of stars with bucket loads of money

We run the risk of losing Watts, Sylvia & Frawley at seasons end because this idiot cant build culture at a club he destroys mateship.

He wants to be kind and warm to the players after pathetic losses

We need a coach who players respect not a manipulative school teacher who treats men like boys and humilitates them.

To make Maloney tag Wells and Dal Santo last year was a farce when he is a clearance player not a gut runner

  18. Thanks Nasher at least I understand your thoughts and totally agree Neeld has to go.

I dont buy into how a team can be competitive for half a game because they feel like it and then after listening to their coach at half time come out and basically give up.

The players either hate his guts or he is ineffectual as a motivator.

94 points is a smacking in a match however they piled on a 84 margin in a half.

Bite the bullet and sack him otherwise if this continues for a the remainder of the season kids (future members) that still currently barrack for the Demons will be lost along with sponsors because we wont be seen on free to air TV

  19. I first read that as "fart stick" - I was about to award you with the prize of "best new insult".

As for what happens if we lose to GWS? Nothing. We're a worse side than they are, so it would simply just be meeting my expectations.

Nasher from what your saying you agree we are a worse side than GWS but do you feel we should do nothing with Neeld or should we replace him.

We seem to have a really bad track record of developing our draft picks into top line players and I am worried of the decisions being made
