Because I tell the truth whereas the others on here can't face the truth.

I don't see why you are being unpleasant. I'm a doctor and I'm concerned that he has been given the wrong advice. I will contact the club directly.
-
This is not trolling. Nobody should be stretching their back like that.
-
I was appalled to see Jesse Hogan hyperextending his back on a video clip shown on TV Channel 9 last night. That is the worst possible thing to do for anyone's back let alone someone with an injury. Who on earth has told him to stretch that way??

you don't have to tip them to show loyalty. That's just silly.Yep
Its almost the same too many comments to agree with
I have lived through it and will continue. Agree with most of whats on here re changes. The game and Me.
I still pick Melb in the pub footy tipping to the amused derision and sympathy of others. I Too dont watch all other games with the same intensity but get great enjoyment from by local club.
I cant even get to all their games any more but after a flag they finished bottom and have started this year with a win . A new sense of passion and a desire to improve that I wish Melbourne would display. We had Sam Kekovich up here a couple of weeks ago and he said that the bond that was forged as a bottom side was even better than the bond of victory. But he didnt discount what the victory set up for him and his teammates. Some of the old values are being lost and I hope that Melbourne can rediscover its winning abilities. I have faith in the players abilities and even greater faith in Roos to expose the ability and use it to achieve victories. I just dont know when thats going to happen but will continue to support the Dees.

He would presumably invest his payout gradually as superannuation rather than using it to live off. Most likely he would get another job doing something else and use the income to live now.

Hes under contract so he'll be looking for the best exit strategy (monetary payout).Pressure to do what?
Dosen't he either retire, quits or it's steady as she goes and nothing happens. Seems out of MFC's hands just at the minute.
-
He is letting his team mates down. If his contract was not front loaded and he is still on 700,000 per year that's 13,461 per week to do nothing. Time to do the decent thing and resign from the club. We then need to look forward and recruit 2-3 tall forwards. Perhaps some at GWS might want to come back from Western Sydney? I hear it's a s---hole.

the trouble is how can they learn and improve when very week they are smashed and psychologically down? By the way I turned the page on my Dees calendar this morning to April and guess whose picture is on it? M Clark!GWS beat Sydney. We had no rucks and a forward line that was so good we needed to play our best backs there. Sure the skills need more polish than a million tonnes of Mr Sheen, and we have half a dozen players that aren't up to the mark, but it is really wrist slitting time?
When you play every bounce from CHB and, have zero forwards and a bunch of guys learning (yet another) way to play what are you really expecting?
Don't get me wrong, I don't think any of this is something to take heart from but the half a team we had on the park over the last couple of weeks showed more than the full teams we had under Neeld.
There is a hell of a lot of work to do - a hell of a lot - but there is less to do than this time last year. We need some tall talent and we need this group to trust each other. That won't happen in a week or two and it was never going to happen in a week or two.

agreeYou're getting grumpy D31.Time for bed

you beat me by 5 years but at least you would remember more of the glory years!!Feel your pain DoF....
-
because he's useless and injury prone and a joke. Why the hell would we delist Gawn after re-signing him last year? Young ruckman with promise
-
we also miss Barassi and NeitzI think we have missed Garland big time. Very creative off the backline
-
Gawn, Fitz and Spencer delist!!
-
We need 3 key position forwards, 2 rucks, and multiple big, strong fast keen footballers.

At least Clark is no longer on the banner above.

I've supported this club for 55 years. This is the lowest point ever. The players are an utter disgrace. Nathan Jones, Daniel Cross were the only ones who put in a proper effort today. Poor Jobes was smashed in the face early and did not gave his best day. The rest showed nothing.

It's worse than crap. It's dog vomit.

Our team needs to be forced to watch the replays of this week's real games- hawthorn, Geelong and essendon are streets ahead.

Agreed you make some good points. The difference (and Fitzroy supporters have every right to be dark about this) is that the AFL couldn't wait to get rid of Fitzroy. As much as we crap on Demetriou, he has been one of our biggest supporters. Some will say then why did we get raked over the coals with tanking/ He probably didn't want the tanking stuff to come to the fore and was severely embarassed when it did. I think it permanently stuffed his relationship with Cameron Schwab. I got the feeling that after Don's phone call after round 2 last year that part of any rescue package was contingent on Schwab losing his brief immediately.

more like fitzroy.I say it's time to give up on a lot of the class of 2008-2010.
Trengove, Grimes, Tapscott, Blease, Strauss, Nicholson, Spencer and Watts will never be the players we want them or need them to be.
Keep experience that is worth keeping: Nate Jones, Bernie Vince, Daniel Cross (the question is for how much longer can we keep him?), Col Garland and see if we can get a few more in over the next little bit.
However, the rebuild of 2008-2010 is now officially a failure and hanging onto the back wash of that era (I wish I could find a nicer word) is going to set us back further. We need to accept this and start again. We are at GWS 2012/Brisbane Bears 1991/Sydney Swans 1993 levels here and we need to look at things as such.
However, we are further behind than we were in 2008 as we got rid of anyone who could protect the kids in those developing years. However, we need to grit our teeth, call a spade a spade and start this rebuild thing again. I understand why people are pizzed off but we need to be realistic about this.
Also, the club needs to remind itself there are 19 games to go in this season. We drop our heads now and write the season off, then it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy i.e. we can't improve because we are crap and we are crap because we can't improve. There's a lot of footy left to be played.
-
Absolutely agree with you. Get some of those Greatest WAste of Space players back to Melbourne. The reason we have had so many years being down is because we well and truly fooked up the rebuild, 2010 we had the right blend and from there we decided to off load older players when the younger players weren't ready to carry us through. CS & CC created drama amongst the playing group and we have been found wanting in leadership. The way I see it we started the rebuild again last season and are 1 year into it.
I see us as being comparable with Richmond 2010 but we really have to get the rebuild right, I don't think we can afford any longer to draft the player who will be a gun in 3/4 years, we need to draft the ready now or trade early picks for 2 ready to go players because we need to be competitive and start showing improvement. I have actually given up on ever seeing us win a flag, I actually just want to see a season where we don't get belted regularly and go into 6-10 games with a chance of winning

CS was a poor CEO but the player group is terrible.
