  1. i emailed. But I actually wanna hear Ox dress the turd down. He will not hold back. Will be good times. He will call a turd a turd
  2. Can anyone post the full version of 'Dublin Jim' (from the VHS of same name) and the Greg Champion song 'Stynes Stynes Everywhere Stynes' ?
  3. i just thought there were more important things going on this week and this tired old topic could be given a rest. Chill out.
  4. Cant believe people are still on about this bloke. Let it go. What is sad is that this thread has more posts than the Jimmy thread. FK Me!
  5. SEN have reported that funeral will be on Tuesday 27th at St Paul's with broadcast in Fed Square. St Paul's seems odd. Jim was a Catholic (not that he cared much) but would have thought his family would have. St Pat's seems more appropriate.
  6. i am presuming this wasn't all the players that were there yesterday..does anyone know how many players gathered there?
  7. Couldn't agree more..that's what I was trying to gett at Old Dee.Honour Jim by pledging allegiance to the MFC... now is the time!
  8. I know that it is far too early, but club must sell Jimmy's message. Its what he would have wanted. Its his dream to see us strong. I will ring every non member and/or members who have not renewed after Tuesday next week for free. After work. I wanna see us achieve the 40k.
  9. Mmemberships listed at 27,868 as of today. A slight jump. Does anyone believe that the events of yesterday will help membership numbers?
  10. 'Whatever It Takes' should be the quote abouve the players race as they run out. Each player should slap that sign and remmeber what it means and how to apply it.
  11. 100% o'dwyer
  12. Strangely, I think Jimmy has left us with one left parting gift. A gift that we will only come to realise in the years to come. Club unity and identity. He has made the jumper and the red and blue the most famous in the land at this hour. The story of his feats will be told forever more and the MFC is a huge part of that. Hearing the story of Chris Connolly on AFL last night that many many past players had gathered in St Kilda last night shows his power and influence to bring people back together. He started the mission to bring this club back together and achieve it he has. Thank you Jimma, we will miss you but never ever forget you...You have put the MFC on the map again. If the players on the current list dont follow the 'whatever it takes' approach they dont' deserve to pull on the jumper.
  13. I still cant think of words to describe how sad I am today. I had one shot it... However, IF any poster here still needs an excuse to get a membership this year, here it is. It was Jimmy's dream to see the MFC with 40,000 members. Let's seriously help him achieve it. We know he will be looking down on us !! Thank you Jimma, thoughts are with your family today.
  14. I guess we all knew that at some stage this was going to happen, but nothing could prepare me for the way i feel right now. Jim - You had a massive impact on me, I grew up inspired by you and have continued to be inspired in my adult life. Your story is a bloody amazing one. We will never forget you and the legacy you have given our club.
  15. Does anyone know if we are doing a membership campaign on TV or on radio. Heard heaps of other clubs have days on SEN. Nothing from us though. Pretty poor marketing
  16. Maybe we had one in the mix and since Eddie and Cam blew up at eachother, Eddie has stolen our sponsor's, just as he promised he would. Just a theory!
  17. so who knows when Liam's contract is up? Someone must. If its beyond this season I will be less paranoid, if not, I reckon there is more to it. I really appreciate and like Rudeboy's posts here but something is not sitting well with me right now
  18. With the greatest deal of respect to Rudeboy here, I smell something fishy. I did not like Eddie's tone about reminding us how the Pies brought Liam to the AFL and 'let's not forget he was at Collingwood before Melbourne'. It seems like payback for all that has been going on between the two clubs for the last 8 months (you may even look further). I don't know why Eddie feels the need to have to mention Colllingwood and I got the feeling he was implying that Liam has no support at the MFC. Would not even surprise me if he was whispering "next year we will get you to the Pies, we are the biggest footy club, just like the Magpies back home" **wink wink** Shoot me down if you like ... but the way this whole thing was set up by 3 Collingwood people is very very very suss!
  19. Eddie is copping a pasting from Patrick Smith and K.B. on SEN. He is caught lying and dodging questions. You know when he gets angry that he has been caught. He reckons the CEO Schwabb allowed him the interview. This will be rebutted by CS no doubt! He will not answer the Question about whether he has a conflict ogf intetrest and would have gone bonkers had anyone interviewed a collingwood player.
  20. Reported on SEN. They had a guy from NT on the phone who is a news reporter up there and had just sat in on the court hearing. I think the MFC should let him play. Innocent at this stage. Best thing for him is to get back to footy.
  21. You can all slag MM off as much as you like, but as far as I am concerned, the bloke is 100% spot-on. Watts is your typical private school APS footballer. Had it all come very easy when he was young and now he has to mix it with men he is not up to the task. I played football in the APS myself and can tell you that you were lucky not to be sent off for a sound hip and shoulder. I will come out and say it, the bloke is SCARED! You can see it when he plays. He does not5 have the killer instinct to pounce on the loose footy. I am sorry to say, but we have picked a guy who will take another 3 years before he is up to the grade. Why? Becayuse until Jack has the body shape of a Reiwoldt or even a Matty Richardson (who he reminds me of at times) he will have no confidence to mix it against bigger bodies. We can bang on about his age, but as MM points out, blokes like Hurley and Darling are of similar age and dont have the same problems. Sorry to be the light ice in the esky fellas, but we need to accept the reality.
  22. Hi Demonlanders, I didnt go to the family day this year but just watched the grab here - http://www.melbourne...36/default.aspx - and noted that Aaron Davey mentioned that Liam Jurrah was a no show this year. I realise he has prob just finished surgery, but do we know why he did not attend? I am hoping somone from the club gave an explanation. I only get worried because we all understand the challenges for Liam living down here in Melbourne and away from his community. We also all know that these challenges sometimes cause players to walk away from the game. I am always fearful of this with LJ. Hope someone can shed a little light...
  23. TBH WYL, I tried to do it all myself on the net but couldnt figure out the option. There was a form you had to fill out and send it. I just wanted to do it all online. Eventually just called the club and a bloke sorted it in 2 mins for me. They had my details already, I guess from when I was last a member. Very easy.
  24. I just signed up as a member. I lapsed last year due to being overseas and just forgetting about it. In order to prevent it happening again i just signed up to the 'Demon for Life' option so my membership is just automatically deducted. I can't really afford to buy a full membership at this stage, but as an MCC member i am happy to donate $60.00. I have been a member since 1983. If there are people on here that are MCC members and haven't signed up, please sign up. I think we can really shake the 40k barrier this year. We can get back to being a big club in this town. The challenge is there!!
