  1. wow... he was well and truly retired when I was born, I missed a lot it would seem... Jesus H Christ he was fast. Great compilation from mfcnow, not sure if he/she posts here but congrats if so... keep up the good work.
  2. He really won't need that much fitness you'd think, if DB has any sense he'll put Jurrah in the goal square one-out and tell him to take hangers. Not a heap of running involved. He's no midfielder, let's keep that in mind. Get in the team Liam!!
  3. Harsh all round here... Jetta, Scully and Trengove didn't have mountains of the ball, but when they did get it were good IMO. Your judgement of Watts has been clouded by one massive brain-fade, apart from that he was fairly good I thought. Bate was very good early, did drop off a bit but defs had more than cameos.
  4. Really? C'mon, get over it guys, it's not a big deal at all. Yes, the Coodas bring out the same songs every year, but they are classics, and always funny... I have a laugh at it. But really, they are just about the only ones who actually mention that stereotype these days (now that we're actually decent), it's mostly died out. You'll live.
  5. Except that would leave us with a forward line like this: Watts Bate Jetta Green Miller Dunn Too tall, not feasible. Unfortunately it means that JW will most likely be dropped.
  6. The last thing we need is a clearance-expert midfielder. We have Jones, Moloney and Junior currently (not the best at clearance disposal, but they get it out of there). In the pipes we have Scully, Trengove, McKenzie, Gysberts, Grimes, possibly Tapscott as well. That area of the list is the strongest. What we do need is some precise kicking around the ground. Davey is one; Morton, Strauss, Tapscott and others are in works in progress. Hence, development needed.
  7. I disagree, let's not completely sacrifice goals and success for development. Let the lads get up some confidence by any means necessary - results will follow, as will the creativity and the skilful delivery. No point having a hard learning curve if the forwards are getting frustrated at the mids and vice versa. We need an outlet, our skills aren't yet good enough to play the waiting game around the centre/HF.
  8. Bailey, pleeeeeease put Dunn in the square this week and leave him there. His confidence will be sky-high this week after kicking 8 for Casey, can we please at least try some form of long target. Even if we bomb it long and it comes straight back, better than turning it over on the flank/wing while pissing around with it. Or Green, or maybe Watts - but only if the delivery is good. Putting it on his head = death by Presti.
  9. Jurrah 3 weeks is exciting... Bail broken cheekbone is not. Is that new, or did it happen last week?
  10. Indeed... the books give off quite the odour when they're being cooked.
  11. Huuuuuuuuuuuuge win, i lol'd. Well played Sir.
  12. Everyone please cool your jets. Did anyone else read down to the bottom of the article? I was worried when I saw the article this morning, but I read through to the end and saw that. Sounds like nothing more than speculation to me, and a slow news day for The Age. I'm confident he'll stay based on that, and his twitter posts. Let's not forget, either, that Jurrah was allowed to go home for a while after he did his shoulder. It's only natural.
  13. And Gysberts seems Hird-esque in build and game style (not necessarily as good as him, but we can hope).
  14. Scully = Judd... almost - same explosive pace, slightly different style. I reckon Scully's 'style' will become as distinctive as Judd's (you know, the way he holds himself etc). As in, when you see Judd bursting through a pack, holding the ball like he does, you think 'vintage Judd'. Trengove = ? His balance and awareness bring no-one immediately to mind... i.e. the way he holds his feet in the contest. A thing of beauty. Jizz.
  15. Saw that, and was disgusted by the sheer arrogance of it... and the whole team.
  16. SJ marks one near the point post and kicks a goal... but it's at the top of the goal square according to Kelli.
  17. TV coverage has started- "First kick for Gibset"... Kelli you f-wit
  18. so a modern twist on the MCC logo then? I recall Schwabby saying in WW it would be different to what most other clubs have these days - i.e. not like the new Crow, Lion, Bomber, Eagle, Roo, but possibly more like Carlton's logo... (that's my reading of it anyway)
  19. Ferk Eddie annoys me, go have a cry you whining sook. "woe is us, we have to travel four times a year!!! whatever shall we do?" gggrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  20. Listen live on the radio - by 3pm it's likely you will have heard enough and won't want or need to watch the carnage all over again. Hence Kelli is avoided.
  21. But how was he playing in the Rep game if he's on an AFL list? confused.
  22. Edited for accuracy. Apologies to the female or gender-neutral posters on the board Chose Scully, but only because there was a poll there... it's too hard (TWSS).
  23. True, that is a great video... the anguish on his face during that "I'm Melbourne" line is haunting, the man loved the Club.
  24. Ummmmm I think you'll find he is on Essendon's rookie list this year... and by all reports will be getting a game as soon as someone moves onto the LTI at the Dons. Missed the boat, sorry.
