  1. Why not have confidence in Craig as a circuit breaker? V successful with Crows
  2. Looking at the past means looking at evidence, not hopes for the future. The evidence was overwhelming in 2012 but most lovely hopefuls didn't want to see it.
  3. Mate I picked us to finish 18th and now feel I was optimistic. I said so on this site and was rubbished. How others could not se that the coach had butchered the list I really don't know. The Board didn't know because it listened to the coach who'd proved to be absolutely hopeless, with a dud gameplan in 2012
  4. Honestly, this is rubbish! You can't justify bad picks on the basis that they didn't cost much. Watching Gysberts v Essendon in 2011shows how much more upside there is in him than in Rodan, trier that he is
  5. Why on earth not play Tapscott in defense? His first 6 games were down back and he was great. Votes in his first match from memory. This brings me to another point. At a recent evening discussion someone asked one of the coaches whether they ever watched videos of earlier seasons. The coach in attendance said that they do not--ever! This amazed those present. One would think that videos would be a major source of information as to why so many players are performing worse than 2-3 years ago
  6. Our fitness levels? What the hell? We were told we were unfit by Neeld who recruits this gee-whizz guru, and trains the guts out of them per-season, and what do we get? We looked fitter in 2010. .Didn't we?
  7. Well Jack we lost by 60 v Gold Coast so I wouldn't lay in the celebratory coke just yet in anticipation of a win v . Must say that both this week and last we were awful, one is really clutching at straws to think of positives. Remember how many outs the Pies have
  8. Frawley and Jamar not trying? I can't believe you could say this, Frawley played a hell of a game and smashed Buddy. Jamr tried his heart out, dominated the ruck and this time he tried something I've looked for for ages--smashed the ball forward occasionally. I wish you could talk to some sponsors, to hear just how hard their "sponsorees" are trying, how hard everyone is trying, how miserable they are at the thrashings they are getting
  9. Mate, I think you would be wise not to be rude! What you fail to mention is that between 2011 and 2012, the club downgraded its senior players. Left the last 3 b and f winners out of the leadership group. Humiliated them in my view. Another poster has again suggested that Moloney sulked because he was not made captain. That's not the view of the players. The previous year after letting himself down, and being dropped from Leadership, he played his socks off and won the Bluey. Not my picture of a sook! True, Mark Neeld can hardly be blamed for the loss of Sculy, but surely his first task was to get the utmost out of his senior men Another poster challenges the worth of the 2011 list. That list beat Adelaide and Freo by 16 goals, and both played senior finals in 2012. Remind me where we finished!
  10. I have high regard for your views Colin, but I don't think anyone can judge the players on the list at present. When a team is thrashed each week confidence plummets. And confidence is everything in this game. A number who looked good in 2010/11 presently look awful. What worries me most is the 4 fellows from other clubs who were not up to it at their old homes, and are no good with us. And we wil be paying them for years. Despite the comments of some, the list was young and promising when the present coach was appointed. Sure, it had faults but there was plenty to work with. Now the list has been butchered in my view.
  11. I think he is dead right! Team so,lacking in confidence, one really can't judge individual young players
  12. Yes but it's very depressing that our star recruit is so bad in kicking for goal. Tho absolutely thrashed we should be 3 goals something
  13. Yes but it's very depressing that our star recruit is so bad in kicking for goal. Tho absolutely thrashed we should be 3 goals something
  14. Yes, he picked Rodan, who people claim cost us nothing. Well the poor bugger is trying but he has cost us plenty today
  15. What the hell is the evidence of a "shocking culture" What was the evidence that at the end of 2011 we were unfit? These are the thrusts of the present coach and his accolades and even supporters on here. Early in 2012 we were told that the list wasn't fit enough, or strong enough. I could concede that as a young list--much younger then than it is now (thanks to th recruitment of Rodan et al) it may have lacked physical strength, but I saw no evidenced of unfitness. Then, after downgrading all the senior players, and at least for the time being, damaging the career of 2 great young men, the coach appears to have panicked and recruited 5 older players, most of whom are no good. Are his supporters on this site happy about a 3y contract for Pederson? We wil be paying for a bunch of Casey players over thei next 3 years. What hasn't been mentioned on this topic is the gameplan, and the fact that as every expert fom outside he club has commented, the chosen gameplan is just unsuited to our list. At least when we were young, light, physically not as tough as opponents, we could under Bailey, turn on a brand of football which lead to a number of big wins. Not a hint of that now. Just bewilderment. One final matter. Many of Neeld's supporters argue here that the players are responsible because they are not trying. I was recently in the company of 3 sponsors--people contributing to the finances of the club but also the well being of their sponsorees. They talked, quietly, sadly, about their "charges", about the fact that these kids are trying so hard, are gutted by the lack of success, and most worryingly, that no-one is enjoying being there. It's awfully sad and before we turn on players we should realize this
  16. But bugger you and all who are lapping up this nonsense---it was not the worst club since Fitzroy when Neeld took over . Was it? Why did we win 4 matches last year, and 1 out of 10 this year, compared with 8.5 each of the two previous years? None of this makes sense! In my opinion you don't ask players to pick the captain--you take into consideration their views but the football sub-committee then makes the decision. Say Moloney was disappointed. The previous year he'd been dumped from the leadership group after a serious drinking matter. So did he quit? Get the shits? No, he put his head down and won the B and F. Had I been Neeld he was the last bloke I would have got off-side with For heavens sake! When will you people admit that the present coach has simply not worked out, it's most unfortunate, I feel sorry for him but we must change course---now!
  17. So where would Stevie J fit into your likes/dislikes meter!? There is surely a place for the mercurial as opposed to the fully committed all the time chaps. As to your earlier comments re Moloney I think you are wrong. My understanding, based upon discussions with other players is that Moloney played a great role in bonding particularly for younger players. He privately explained to Neeld his concern about the gameplan and was then off-sided. His departure was a disaster and very concerning for colleagues.
  18. Sorry mate, many distractions! I disagree on several counts. First, we were not a basket case at the end of 2011. Faults yes--especially in defense. But do you really believe the culture was bad? I was close then to several players, and I knew nothing of bad culture. They were gutted by he disaster at Geelong, but they were largely young and inexperienced. Remember Sheedy lost a match by 160 odd in his 2nd year. Were we unfit? The 2012 admin would say we were, but the 2010/11 results really wouldn't support the proposition. Remember that while the team was winning 8.5 games each year we were knocking off a large debt. Especially at the end of 2010 the club was in decent shape. But we were awfully inexperienced. So why sweep in and downgrade the 3 previous winners of the Bluey? Watching Green in some of the 2011 games I don't think he was gone. Moloney after an indiscretion early in 2011, played a great season. Davey was more problematic, but I would have tried to get maximum leadership from these 3. I simply don't understand his actions at the beginning or the end of 2011.or his decision to get rid of Moloney, Martin, Petterd and Gysberts at the end of 2012 He seemed to realize he'd gone too far and then panicked, picking 5 players, all of whom had played 2nds in R 21 of 2012. 3 had barely played in the 1s. All year! And he offered these strugglers long contracts. 3 years for Pederson! For heavens' sake! Now morale is awful. Players were [censored] off with the treatment of Moloney who (privately I believe) suggested to N that the gameplan was not right for the Dees list, and was publicly humiliated and given a number of games at Casey for his trouble Now do you disagree with what I've said here? Or that the attitude amongst our followers is the worst ever? Why not accept that coaching appointments can go wrong, ie Watson at StK. no recriminations necessary, let's just move on. I believe the Board knows and accepts this. Personally I would appoint Craig, experienced, successful I would definitely NOT appoint Viney. The last thing we need now is a rookie coach. All the best mate!
  19. Look I understand a bit of this. But if you decide you need experienced fill ins you have to pick fellows who can get a game. Don't you? Ask the Cats supporters their view of Gillies? 2 weeks ago Boomer Harvey was on the ABC and another commentator said Pederson played some good games at North didn't he? There was a silence. Rodan!! His selection provoked mirth everywhere, in the meantime the Woods grabbed Russell from the Blues. Wouldn't that have made more sense? Isn't Byrnes a fringe player in a good team? Is that what we needed. More value to us than Moloney? Don't think so! Simon Buckley was on offer. Couldn't he have offered something as a mid? If he wasn't better value than Rodan I'll go he. And you mention Blease who's struggling. But he showed a lot last year. What the hell,is happening that he can't get a game? Sorry, some flaws in your reasoning I think.

  21. Obviously I agree with you RR but I'm hoping we can put aside how this happened, and get on with the next phase. No-one acted in bad faith. There were plenty who thought Mark Neeld would be a great appointment. It's awfully unfortunate and no doubt a good deal worse for him. There is about to be the greatest challenge for us all, to help refix this club. With supporters like you it has a chance.
