tapscott by far! our chapman, hard at hit, agressive and good skills, can play midfield or forward. he likes to get in opponents faces, doesn't take any crap, exactly what our team needs more of
-
pick 12 has to be Darling. just watched his 2009 state champs highlights, is just what we don't have. big body, agressive (we seriously are lacking in this department) , plays tall, good shot for goal and can take a grab. can also go into the middle and play a bit like Pav. Watts, Jurrah and Darling are the perfect tall options, all quick and mobile and complement each other well. throw in petterd, aussie, bennell, sylvia, tapscott, bate as well as dunn and we will have a pretty exciting forward line

Right. No more guessing.
What have people heard around the traps?
Which players in the draft have the Dees got their eyes on?
What about trade talk?
No more speculation, has anyone actually heard any inside info?
-
hey i need a new wallpaper for my computer, my old one is getting boring. anybody got some good melbourne ones?
-
Pick 12 - Lucas Cook!
Darling will be gone, but I heard he has an attitude problem anyway - don't need that poisoning our club.
I believe we need a key forward with some mongrel in him, in the mould of a Jonathon Brown, perhaps not as good though.
I think Cook fits the bill!

thanks guys

when is our luck going to change? i mean i don't expect us to play finals this year, all i want is steady improvement from the young guys. but so many of them have missed large chunks of development time. Blease will miss the better part of 2 years, garland missed a year, aussie missed a year, tapscott, jurruh and gawn all missed 6 months, petterd is out, morton missed half a year. there are probably more that i can't think of...
just disappointing, the amount of development that these guys could have had in them...
oh yea and strauss missed half of last year with a shoulder.
how much different would our forward line look this weekend with a fit jurruh and petterd down there...
-
any news how maric's pre-season is going? is he set for a break out year?
-
where is his best position?
i say he will be best utilized at CHF with Watts coming out of the square
-
alright, i know this has been brought up a few times before, but does anyone think that all of Warnock, Frawely, Garland and Rivers can all play in the same backline together? i personally think that there is only room for 3 of them. and we also have T.Mac and Martin who can play there but i prefer Martin as a forward and backup ruckman. thoughts?
-
apparently the final version is still being developed....'@nyencken Small steps. Darker navy, 'sharper' V, modern shape...getting there'. cam schwab today on twitter.

did anyone else notice that on the the front page of the sun this morning, scully and trengove are wearing the 2010 jumper. it has the new reebok neck on it. i can't really see a difference in the color though...
-
Nothing article. These are just the 30 shifter knows most about and is trying to hype up.
Max Gawn?
I'm surprised Majak Daw and Serhat Temel didn't make the list...
maybe those 3 arn't top 30, Daw will be a rookie or very late pick, Temel late pick and Gawn's just a big lump of a bloke, he'll go late aswell

take him at 34!
very passionate melbourne supporter and great work ethic just like his brother! say what you want but i reackon having them together will make them both better!
then all we need is Vardy at 11 and one of Black, Griffiths or Carlisle at 18 and we have done very well!
-
do we need to draft a ruckman this year?
we already have 4 designated ruckman plus Martin who i like as the second ruck.
should we be looking at Vardy or James Craig in his coming draft or should we go for another midfielder?
my perfect draft:
1. Scully
2. Trengove
11. Butcher
18. Vardy
34. D. Grimes
PSD 1. Ball
-
No Blease?
he's on the wing
-
Warnock Frawley Bennell
Strauss Garland Morton
Blease Trengove Moloney
Bate Watts Sylvia
Jurrah ??? Davey
Jamar/Messon Scully Grimes
int: Jones Maric Martin Rivers/???
sorry:
Aussie
Petterd
Cheney
Jetta
Bruce
Green
Dunn
-Trengove and Sylvia to rotate
-Can't find a full forward, hopefully pick 11 (Jurrah not big enough, will get out muscled)
-Davey play deep forward as he gets older
-Only one ruckman, martin as back up and swingman
-Can't really fit in Rivers, not sure if i even want him on the bench. replace with another midfielder (luke ball?)
-Maric will become a gun midfielder, great delivery for the forwards
-
i don't get all the new demon logo hate i'm hearing at the moment. i really like it, i think it's way better than the daniher era logo. it has a more retro look to it. love it.
opinions?
-
ok so this year the big break out player was obviously James Frawley. the kid will be a gun full back!
Col Sylvia also finally stepped up and Grimes showed what he can do but i'm expecting next year to be his break out year.
Who's going to come to the party next year?
My tip is for Morton to become a super star next year. Huge break out year for Cale.
anyone else?
-
Should we draft him at 34?
I think yes, some part of that is because I want both the grimes boys at the dees. both supported melbourne while growing up and it would be like having the Febey twins again.
From what I understand, he's not a standout but a reliable key backman and is quick.
People keep referring to Matty Warnock as a young up and comer, he is 26 years old. a late bloomer.
Dylan Grimes would give us another younger key defender for the future to help out Frawley and Garland when Rivers and Warnock are over the hill.
-
obviously going to be moved on the end of next year. Miller to the gold coast for free and they try and trade Jamar to the them aswell to get a good pick as long as he has a good year and stock stays high
-
Yessssssssssssssss, A picture of Jack Grimes and James Frawley would top it off
I agree, Grimes and Frawley need to be here, get rid of bruce.
AND PLEASE SWAP JONES AND SYLVIA THEN UN-REFLECT THEIR PICS SO THAT THE HANCOOK AND AFL LOGO'S ARE ON THE PROPER SIDE!
i don't know why but it really anoys me
-
I don't understand the theory behind replacing Rivers with Talia being a good thing. Rivers is a near superstar getting back to form and we get rid of him for an unproven kid? Bad trade if true.
i'd hardly call Rivers a superstar, in my opinion he is fourth in line behind Frawley, Garland and Warnock.
Talia is the u18 AA CHB

Darling over Lynch. Lynch looks as though he plays a similar game to Jack Watts (not just cause of his hair), same type of player. we don't need 2 jack watts, we need someone who will compliment him, offer what he dosen't and vice-versa
