So what do you suggest mate we sack the coach mid contract, incur another debtor then begin rebuilding again from scratch with a new coach and staff. if we need Hardwick so much then why was he not eh first choice when the recruitment process began for the coaching position. You say he played so many AFL games well Neil Craig didnt play any and he is a fine coach. I agree with the previous poster how about you think about what you are saying before you go our and make such frivolous comments about a concept which was settled two years ago now. Sorry to all for the spelling in the last post. l have not got back to say my point due to having to work long hours and late nights.

Damien Hardwick played 207 AFL games 153 for Essendon and 13 goals. Under Coach Kevin Sheedy who is one of the greatest coach we have seen.

when at Essendon he won the Best and Fairest in 1998 . In 2000 he played in the premiership side that smashed us and also was all Australian.

in 2000 and 2001 he played in the International rules series and played in a losing grand final side.

he then moved to Port where under Mark Williams said to be one of the best Teachers of football was part of the 2004 premiership side.

Since 2005 he has been working as an assistant coach at Hawthorn . And as you all no won the premiership last year.

in 2007 Hardwick was shortlisted for the senior job at melbourne just like Chris Connolly.

l am not knocking our club or saying sack any one but trying to see who else could bring something to our beloved club.

l think Jim stynes , Cameron Schwab , Dean Bailey , Chris Connolly and James Mcdonald should all be givin a big pat on the back for what they have done.

l was hoping to see who everyone else would like to see at the club .

on top of this Damien Hardwick was a hard nose little player which l thought would give us help in drawing the line in the sand.

but maybe some of our supporters need to harden up too.

Okay. So in the last week, we've had the following suggestions:

- A call to sack Bailey, pay him out, and replace him with a guy whose never been part of an AFL coaching panel in his life.

- A call for a 19 year old kid, who has played a grand total of six AFL games, to be made captain next year

- A suggestion that we should have picked Natanui instead of Watts, on the grounds that he played better in his first game

- A call for us to move our best young defender into the forward line and take two quick midfielders with the first two draft picks, instead of simply picking the best two young players in the country (one of whom is apparently a gun key forward, giving us a chance to develop a great forwardline on top of our already promising backline)

And now we have a thread insisting that Hardwick would have been a much better coach than Bailey, a point that has been substantiated with precisely bugger-all. I'm looking forward to the next "let's do this" thread, which -I expect- will be a passionate 2000 word post, discussing at length why Davey should sit on Jamar's shoulders in the ruck contests, why McLean would be a 10x better player if he had a silver mouthguard, and why it is imperative that we draft Randy "Macho Man" Savage as our next full forward.

great game plan great effort and great coaching. maybe after finally getting the off field stuff looking good and casey maybe we should now look to see who could help us move forward

l was under the belief that we where not that bad. DB was going good and things were good but after today I'm not so sure.

Our older players let us down and made dumb mistakes.

this year l have found myself after the games happy with how we are going. l know that we all want wins at the end of the day but we are starting to show something.

we are so young and starting to stand up to the other teams. we just look like the team needs maybe 2 more years to be right back up there.

l just look at Geelong , St kilda , Hawthorn of last year, Bulldogs and the blues as a blue print to wear we are going .

How can we go past Moloney why when he was asked if he would take a trade that saw him leave Geelong and end up at Melbourne he jumped at it .

he grew up supporting Melbourne . And at the family days is great with children. he keeps his head out of the spot light unlike so many players for the wrong reasons.

the only other player that should be the vic captain is Green . Melbourne like the other teams that have won the Cup all have had Hard nuts to lead .
