  1. I think we should sack Leigh Brown. Goals are what win games and forwards kick goals. We haven't kicked many goals so it must be Brown's fault. Also, sack Jade Rawlings because it's the defenders jobs to stop goals, and the opposition are kicking a lot goals, so it must be Rawlings fault. Yes, sack all the line coaches, and next year if we're no good again, sack all the new line coaches, and do this again every year until we somehow magically find the right combination that lifts us in to the top 4. What could possibly go wrong with this plan?

Nash don't bother, you'll give yourself a hernia.

  2. Is it just paranoia or do the Hawks get every player who wants a change? Hale, Gibson , Burgoyne and now Gunston( didn't know who he was until last week.

They have a hard edge/culture and great membership and facilities but so do the other big clubs.

Just don't get it. We need to be as attractive as they are to compete with compromised drafts and free agency.

    One word...Buddy.

As long as this man is in the squad they can win a flag of his own boot.

Seems like there's a few who feel the same way.

  3. Scully, his family, his managment has had no approach at all from GWS according to Scully (he said absoutley)

Wants to be a one club player as it is important to his values- would love to be a one club player and anticpiate that it will happen.

Past month has been a learning experience

Just wants to go out and play footy week to week and do the best by the club

Management and I decided to just concentrate on footy until the end of the year

Scully's idea for the media conference, club totally supportive, he has nothing to hide

love his team mates, enjoys going to work every morning.

Can't control the media, doesn;t concern me whatever the media does

Mike Sheahan rebuke-asked if his father had been approcarched, scully said absolutely not

Scully has not absolutley idea where the speculation has come from

Club has been fantastic to me, coaches staff have been great.

Had a great chat with Jimmy.

    He feels no pressure

if he recieved an offer from GWA he would lokk at it (of course he was implying that if he received a contract offer from anyone of course you would have to look at it like anything else)

Money doesnt matter, he absolutley loves the club, can see where we are going on and off the field and he wants to be part of the future.

  4. I'm not advocating the destruction or demise of the Dees as being the directive . I can see how they might think we've now got all the lollies, more than we were supposed to. That 'wasn't' the plan. Help the Dees yes .. But sh!t they're looking monstrous!! Too soon .. Too soon . Runaway train!!

I seriously believe the AFL is happy to let these occurrences happen ( to any team) if it helps their PP. It just happens to be us. As another suggests possibly more a result of collateral damage .. Our Hirt is their gain. I consider , for the time being, that GWS and the AFL are the same beast. Ones wholesale the others retail ( factory outlet )

The AFL needs us but needs success out there in no mans land. We know they don't really NEED it but they've got their agenda(s) .

They're happy to facilitate reigning in the Devil-rising.

Keep in mind Port lives in. football breathing location. GWS doesn't.. It's poison air there.

Well if they need success out there in 'no man's land' they should be far more worried about Collingwood than us.

  5. Cause Vlad wants the GC & GWS vying for success over the next decade , not us .

The Afl want growth. Success/Winning a flag is just one of many factors that will encourage this growth, not the only factor (see Port Adelaide).

If the destruction of the Melbourne Football Club continues to grow the game then perhaps the OP is right.

So in essence one must ask, would the destruction of the MFC be good for the 'growth' of the game?

If it was good for the 'growth' of the game we would have gone under years ago.

  6. Rather than worrying about where Garland is best suited let's be grateful that we have such a versatile and adaptable player on our list. He is,undoubtedly, the prototype player of the future. 192cm, quick, agile, good reader of the play, good skills and a definite "defensive" mind set.

With our current list of players, however, his best position is in the backline - his dash and athleticism complement the strength and hardness of Frawley and Rivers.

  7. It is my understanding ,it will be held on the 3 rd Feb 2011 @ the MEMBER'S DINING ROOM ---MCG..I think it is scheduled to start at 5.30 pm..but not sure of time.

    Cheers.

  8. Quayle seems to think there may be a few out of the box early on, with Lynch a chance to fall to our pick.

Atley most likely to Essendon at 8, with GC to likely select Caddy at 7 or else bombers will pounce.

We may get the KPF at 12 that we want after all.

She's also saying there's whispers of Conca at 6 to the tiges..?

    Incredible if they do.

Solid player, but a bit vanilla for me.

I just don't know about Lynch, does anyone get 'Ben McEvoy' vibes with the footage they have seen?
