The brown baggers are really feral and entitled.

And all this time I thought the Pies or Tigers mobs were worse!

I did a couple of years work at the MCG, Blues ferals were without any doubt the worst n the league

He was always a heart in your mouth type of player. Sometimes his manic running looked awesome but equally it often cost us.

is there any chance we could play Smith on the wing, and Hawks play Frost on him, that entertainment alone would be worth the price of a ticket :) :)

Thanks, I'll correct the post.  Still think it is poor by the Swans to not get into the spirit of the occasion.

very unlike Swans, they are normally on the ball with the occasion, not sure what happened today.

Swans are a seriously good side though, not many weaknesses and a lot of medium-size firepower, I think will be the main challenger to us. Hope Paddy Macartin is ok, he certainly didn't look happy in the rooms

  4. Ambition - day was planned, pub lunch with a couple of other Dees, arvo ferry from Portarlington staying in town overnight, dining room dinner on 2nd level AFL Members area, celebrate the night after watching the Dees, back on ferry in morning with probable hangover

Reality - came down with Covid 2 days ago, will spend the day coughing and sneezing while watching the game instead !!

    Go Dees

    Sharing-time (again) Humour me please

Yeah so last Friday I had a routine mammogram. Monday I got the call no one ever wants to receive: they think they “saw something” on the imagining. Tuesday back to Melbourne Private for anothery. Was told to expect the results Thursday (today). Didn’t tell anyone, loved ones, friends etc., not a soul. Having to tell them the cancer may have returned is actually worse than telling them it has returned. 😞

So, last night I was effectively Schrodinger’s Cat, if you will, in that I had breast cancer and at the same time, I didn’t have breast cancer. 🙃🙂

SOOOO happy and relieved to have just received the all-clear! 🥳

(Almost 😉) as happy and relieved as I was to have watched our beloved Dees do us all proud last night.

    #NotToday,Cancer.NotToday!

Note to self: you may need to take stock of your life. What does it say about you that you tell a motley bunch of randoms on a fan forum the great news before you tell your loved ones??? And “I just happened to be on Demonland when I got the call” ain’t gonna cut it! 😁

what a fantastic 24 hrs you have had WCW, great news for you, great night to watch the Dees as well

This is only short (and trigger warning for the posters that need it - It quickly covers a couple of those famous losses), but really well done and has a few new insights.

thanks for sharing that Nev, that is a sensational video, powerful insights into the day

I know he's one of your faves but if Jayden has to play as a Defender, our  Backline is in trouble. His benefit is his attacking running so I reckon he's at the wrong end of the ground.

for 19 games before injury last year Hunt played as a defender and did it well, without the injury would've been a premiership defender. His 2021 is underrated I think

Thanks DeeDj. Any stories you’d like to share of your time at the Borough.

cheers Cards, it was interesting as a young bloke trying to break in to a powerhouse club as an unknown after being invited to train, coming from the northern suburbs. If you weren't a local you weren't quite exactly accepted, and it was only after a couple of weeks training (and not being spoken to) that another players father ( a local Port legend) asked if I was related to "my fathers name", when I said yes it was then that they realised I WAS actually from a Port family, I was then immediately brought into the "Port" circle and accepted.

A lot of stories though probably need to stay in house though 🤐🤣

  9. I played with Fred in the red'n'blue briefly, certainly a larger than life character, despite his later troubles was a great bloke to be around, certainly cared for all Borough people, supporters and players alike .

    Vale Fred

  10. can't wait for the game, I'm going broke. Every day I go to the newsagent for the daily paper the owner has a new piece of Dees stuff on the counter, whether it be coasters, bottle openers, etc. as he knows I will buy them !!

He is a Richmond supporter and there has been a lot of stirring going on through the year. He is also Adam Maric's father and so is firmly with us tomorrow!

  11. I certainly agree with Hunt as the sub, (that is if he his not a surprise selection in the 22), I also think he provides more coverage in more circumstances than Jordon. If a mid does go down we have more than enough to cover, ie. Sparrow, Harmes , Gus, etc.

Hunt can cover for most areas (back, forward, wing) and if it is close later in game is more of a line-breaking impact player than Jordon.

  12. hi fellow Demons, 1st time long time !

Quick Dee background - 1st footy memory was sitting in change rooms as an 8 yo before a game in 64 (dad was a friend of an ex-player who took us in) chatting to RDB, my elder brother was sitting with his hero Brian Dixon. Went every week until I was about 16, then spent next 20 years playing and only seeing the Dees once or twice a year until I finally retired from playing. Then re-started my passion for the Dees, so have certainly been through the journey as we all have !

The article below highlights the bad hand the AFL always dished up to us with regards to fixtures etc.. It was published after the 2009 draw came out and we were stitched up yet again, but the picture tells a good story.

The photo was from yet another Sunday arvo game early in 2008 (r8 I think), looking towards the AFL members area. The forlorn looks on the faces of the diehards (yes, I am in the photo :)) is because at that stage of the game early in the 3rd we were down by about 9 goals against Freo . If the picture had've been taken an hour later it would've shown us all jumping up and down like complete fools because we were all still there at the end and WE BLOODY WON  !!!

    Demons article.pdf

Ist time posting, so hope the article shows up, sorry if it hasn't
