  1. Just to clear up a few uncertainties: -a 59 ENTER does mean Scully beat 59% of the state, but keep in mind that about 17% of year 12 student will either not last the year or are illiterate. -At a private school 59 would be in the bottom bracket of marks. -ENTER and study scores are related to effort much more than natural ability since the subjects aren't overly complicated. My 2 highest study scores came in year 11 , and since I was just about assured of getting into my course of choice at that stage I dropped off in year 12 and my marks reflected that. 59 isn't a great score, but for someone in Scully's position its not a bad result.
  2. Sylvia Davey Garland Watts Grimes Jurrah Morton Frawley Bennell Rivers I'd imagine after next year Blease, Strauss and pick 1 and 2 will be on that list. I'd also be shattered if we lost any of Petterd, Maric, Moloney or even Dunn on what he's shown lately. If McLean can get back to his 2006 form then he's a must keep, I just hope he's been injured this year. Btw, Sylvia and Davey would be in most teams' top 5 players right now. Colin's quiet games these days are 20 touches, 1 goal performances. I wouldn't trade him for pick 3, 4 and 5 in this year's draft.
  3. All our wins were entered as 300 to 0. Jurrah to kick 200 goals in the remaining 7 games.
  4. We can still mathematically make the top 4. Here's what my prediction looks like: 1 St Kilda 22 21 1 0 1543 1219 126.58 84 2 Geelong 22 19 3 0 1665 1507 110.48 76 3 Collingwood 22 14 8 0 1499 1282 116.93 56 4 Melbourne 22 10 12 0 3252 1560 208.46 40 5 W Bulldogs 22 10 12 0 1694 1333 127.08 40 6 Adelaide 22 10 12 0 1373 1228 111.81 40 7 Essendon 22 10 12 0 1448 1398 103.58 40 8 Bris Lions 22 10 12 0 1407 1405 100.14 40 9 Port Adel 22 10 12 0 1398 1522 91.85 40 10 Hawthorn 22 10 12 0 1293 1451 89.11 40 11 West Coast 22 10 12 0 1277 1443 88.50 40 12 Carlton 22 10 12 0 1539 1766 87.15 40 13 Sydney 22 9 13 0 1358 1705 79.65 36 14 Fremantle 22 8 14 0 1278 1939 65.91 32 15 Richmond 22 8 14 0 1242 1891 65.68 32 16 Nth Melb 22 7 15 0 1109 1726 64.25 28
  5. Fevola: 191cm, one of the best full forwards in the comp Goodes: 195cm, one of the best mids in the comp It would be ridiculous to pass on a draftee purely because of their height when it doesn't always give an indication as to how they play.
  6. Davey had a good game, he is simply our only reliable disposer of the ball, and we need it in his hands as much as possible. The 20m chips were due to lack of options, not through any fault of Davey's. On more than a few occasions he found a creative option and was damaging.
  7. No Yze RR? For me, Schwartz, Yze, what I remember of A. Jakovich, and I also liked the way Rigoni went about things. I think Maric may join that list soon as well.
  8. Yze was listed as injured with a knee problem. If he's fit I'd bring him in for Wonna, we've all seen what he can do but he isn't impacting at all over the last month. Hope Petterd gets a go, and Garland should come in if fit. I'm not a Frawley fan at all yet, but he's shown enough to play out the year.
  9. 1. Garland 2. Petterd 3. Morton (although he could slot in anywhere atm) 4. Jones 5. Bate 6. Wonnaeamirri 7. Dunn 8. Buckley 9. Martin 10. Valenti 11. Newton 12. Bartram 13. Bode 14. Frawley I think Maric will be as good or better than all of them as well.
  10. I agree that PJ would attract more attention at the trade table, but that's because he is superior to Jamar in every facet of the game. Even in ruck contests, Jamar often mistimes his jump, and then becomes useless. If PJ doesn't win the tap at least he sometimes follows it up with a clearance, certainly more often than Jamar. PJ will be valuable to us in the coming years, I don't want him traded.
  11. I agree about Lloyd and Lucas Ash, if anything they are underrated these days. Lucas makes a massive difference to Essendon's structure. Also agree on McPhee, has all the attributes to be a star, but is an underperformer.
  12. Watch Cameron Ling play rather than listen to commentators. He occasionally limits his opponent to 10 touches at the least, and in the same game he handpasses backwards 20 or so times, at best he breaks even. A win for Ling reduces the battle to 17 vs. 17, a loss and Geelong are essentially down a player because he is useless offensively. The best thing for Nick Stevens reputation was having a year off, everyone has forgotten the mediocrity he has dished up over the years. Even this year, he regularly gets 60ish% disposal efficiency, and his effective disposals aren't particularly damaging besides the odd goal.
  13. Overrated: Cameron Ling Dale Thomas Nick Maxwell Anthony Rocca (maybe not anymore, but has never been half the footballer his brother was) Probably Cameron Bruce, judging by friends who are opposition supporters Hamish McIntosh Campbell Brown Marc Murphy Nick Stevens Cameron Mooney Luke Ball Underrated: Brendon Goddard (criticised because no 1 pick, but is a very good player) David Hille, agree with many here Rivers and Whelan, again, going by opposition supporters opinions Kade Simpson
  14. 30%, which is (not co-incidently) about the same chance Rivers has to play any given game it seems.
  15. Bruce wasn't the worst, but Boyd was close to the best, and Bruce's disposals had little impact. I miss 2002-2004 Bruce, owned the corridor, occasionally kicking bags of 5 or 7 and winning games. He gets it now and runs in circles, and when he does decide to get rid of it, he misses targets.
