i cant believe we played Godfrey over YZE for starters, Godfrey is a tryer yes but he aint AFL material and never will be, i respect him for trying but this is a business. Also Bate is no Number 6 draft pick what a waste, he is shocking i cant see a very good future for him. Holland should of played instead of wheatley but even he needs to go. These players need to be [censored] off at the end of the year:

They have no future. Daniher would of been better blooding some young guys, what a waste of 2 games.

Give Red Nob (aka Bate) a chance. He was a cracking little player last year. Quite a surprise. Hasn't fired up yet this year, but that seems to be indicative of the whole team.

Alot of you spend time and thought with analysis and opinion, trying to pinpoint the flaw in our team. From these first 2 games I honestly don't know where to start. Absolutely found wanting in every aspect of the game. I don't envy ND's task. He must look at that display and think 'where do I start?'

If we turn after eleven rounds at 8-3 or 7-4, will you still be calling for a re-building stage or will you be pushing for a flag.

Freo looked like a reasonably organized team in those losses. We look to be in complete disarray!

miller was great today, stood up when needed, kicked well, kicked 3 goals what more do you want?

bell i thought was good also but its hard to be great when they run the ball into our backline with little to no pressure, also thought carrol was very good, out marked his opponet about 5 times and spoilt well all day

receiving a hard tag while sewell(his opponent) managed to rack up a lazy 20 possies on him......just didn't work hard enough and at one point threw his hands in the air when mcdonald missed him in the forward line. He looks underdone from that toe maybe, still. Thought miller suprisingly was admirable even though he managed to cough up a chest mark just before 3q time on the 50m arc. Bruce is a very good player and to blame him today is LUDACRIS. Just TOOOOOO soft from a slow weak sh*t melbourne.........again. You wait so long every off season with bated breath and it blows being 0 - 2 again with geelong freo and syd to come. SH*T.

Melbourne will not be a contender in the finals. Even if we make it, we will scrape in and lose our first game or next one. I would like to see some trades this year set for premiership in 2013. Trade players like Bruce, TJ, Green, Bell (if anyone wants him)

Yeah, I agree. The status quo. Though this year looks like a struggle to even accomplish that.

I've come to learn that part of being a Melbourne fan, means the weekly ritual of building your hopes, dissapointment, quickly followed by a feral rant at the same players I'll be hailing as heroes when they occasionally snatch a victory. I think I'd be lost if they suddenly became consistently good.

Yeah, Mclean looks the goods for next captain. But who knows, he could come back after injury and stink. Twice the leadership potential that Bruce has shown.

Completely and utterly disagree in regards to Bell. Was our best defender along with Jared, but an absolute mile. Not sure why he is rated so poorly around this place either. He showed Whelan how it's done today!

Carroll was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. He is a solid FB, but he is no star.

Miller was also good. How anyone can say he failed, is beyond me.

Marked nearly everything that came his way, kicked 2 very good goals and led hard all day. He was the only one still presenting in the last quarter.

White was awful out the middle. Jamar had more influence in the ruck than White.

You know it's gonna be a long, fruitless season when you can honestly say Bell was one of our best. And Miller tries hard. His hearts in the right place. But when it comes to disposal, I'd swear he was blind folded.

I admire you defending your favourite player. Bruce is pretty good, but he's no superstar yet. Unfortunately his kicking is irratic and he's surrounded by baffoons. I see his confidence being sapped by the rest of his team mates lack oif performance, where I'd really like to see him provide some real leadership. Grab the game by the scruff of the neck, like Hird has done on many occasion.

Recalling last season, we didn't start winning games until Byron started throwing his weight about. I'll grant you that the rest of the team seemed alot more compitent then, but if he doesn't play, we'll be battling for the wooden spoon.

You should be able to get your money back on your membership with a totally inept performance displayed in the opening rounds. We're so bad, I can't fathom how we're even gonna get competitive this year. There's so many deficiencies it's heart breaking.
