  1. Well he will have a chance to prove he is a champion at Sandy because Nick Saunther is not playing for the next month because of injury
  2. Strange to me to see such a great club like Melbourne which in reality up to the mid 1980s were the the MMC Football Club in its 150th year even remotely thinking of shifting to a shithole suburb 50 kms from the CBD like Cranbourne. If you think the local bogan population all of a sudden is going to embrace the toffy MFC then you have a rude awakening coming.
  3. AT the Morris St ground Willianstown Its a Willy home game so dont to TBO LOL Should be good test for the Zebras as Willy are the top team atm. It will be very interesting how many Dees players are selected as the Seagulls are alinged with the WB so no limit.
  4. Yep Willys ground on a fine day is very picturesque but in bad weather it would have to be one of the most exposed, windswept and almost unplayable in the State. I saw a fullback one day kick the ball in only to have it go back over his head the wind was that strong. When Willy were a very strong team in the 1950s 5 out of six VFA flags losing in 1957 after being undefeated all season. ( same time as Melbourne) they hardly ever lost at Morris Street.
  5. Trevor Barker was Sandy through and through coming from East Sandringham Boys club and his father was a Sandy fanatic all through Trevors St Kilda carreer hardly missing a game. It was his father who approached the club to appoint him coach. So I dont class him as a normal ex ST Kilda player coming to Sandy ( btw he NEVER played a game for Sandy) as he was coming Home! FYI Having been born in Sandringham Ive have been present at ALL of the SFC premierships since 1946 and I do know what I am talking about as far as the SFC goes.
  6. If the MFC alliance finishes Sandy would be better on their own. St Kilda would be the last team SFC would ever want to join up with as the feeling between the two clubs has always been frosty.St Kilda fans have always had the wrong opinion that ST Kilda and Sandy would be natural buddies when the Saints moved to Moorabbin but the opposite has always been true as St Kinda always treated Sandy like [censored]. Melbourne and Sandringham have always had a good relationship right back to the days of the VFA/VFL.Two Sandy premiership captains Fred Webster and Ross Brewer were former MFC players plus captains Terry Wilkins and Dennis Clark and many other players have come from the MFC. Only one St Kilda player captained Sandy in Ian Cooper gives you and idea of the lack of intercourse between the clubs..
  7. 3/4 Time 2008 VFL Seniors Box Hill Hawks 1.3 3.4 5.8 . Sandringham 8.3 17.9 21.10 .
  8. There is nothing funny about being beaten at home by the filth from Frankston and it has been noted not many of the AFL listed champions did a great deal to stem the defeat esp the forward wonderkind Newton.
  9. Looks like the Melbourne disease is setting in at Sandy as well!
  10. Hearing Date - Wednesday 9th April, 2008 Nicholas Sautner - Sandringham Not Guilty of Charging Sorry to upset you but he got off on appeal!
  11. The Zebras lost by one point at North Port today.
  12. Casey Fields (sic) is a looong way from hosting AFL games. It would need tens of millions of dollars spent on it to get to anywhere near the standard expected. It could be a good training ground for the MFC although a long way from the CBD but a better option maybe Moorabbin when St Kilda shift to Frankston.
  13. This is the type of ignorant comment about Sandringham FC that our supporters hate about the alliance. FYI when was the last time MFC WON a flag OH 1964 shees thats 44 years ago and the way your club is going atm it will be another 44 years before you win another if you are not merged ,relocated or fold before that so dont go putting S*** on Sandy.
  14. As a Sandringham supporter and member for over 50 years I dont think Im being arrogant at all and I would suggest a majority of supporters like me also wouldnt care if the alliance with the MFC stopped tomorrow. Especially when you have your fans Rhino Richards ilk every year ( esp this season when it looks like the MFC will finish in the bottom eight) whingeing about Sandy not promoting MFC rookies at the expence of Sandringham success. You should be looking closer to home for your problems. Why do you think that since the alliance the crowds at TBO have fallen away so badly?Ill tell you why, half the Zebra supporters have given up going and only a hand full of Melbourne diehards attend. I dont consider the 4 flags won during the Melbourne alliance era as valid as the ones that were won when the SFC was stand alone 1985, 1992, 1994 and 1997 so dont fool yourselves that Sandy were not successfull before the MFC came along. I am also certain the the SFC wouldnt be long without an AFL partner club if they wanted one if Melbourne were to go alone. Remember Melbourne wanted the partnership with the SFC in 2000 as you were, as now broke, and couldnt afford a reserves side of your own. The major flaw in the Victorian alliance model is the AFL players from one club go to one VFL club unlike WA and SA where the AFL players are spread throughout the competioion.
  15. If you dont like the arragement then tell your board to run their own team in the VFL like Collingwood and Geelong do.Then you can do what you like with all the wonderfull development players you have. It will only cost the MFC about $500,000 per season then again as my old Grannie used to say "beggars cant be choosers"!
