  1. 'um yeah, morning everyone.. i got a burger and chips and thickshake today on our magnificent journey to the victoria gardens food court. the burger has protein, the chips have sodium - just like our drinks at halftime and the thickshake is making my legs thicker. i think this is good stuff to eat. in conclusion, i hope to continue my good dieting habits daily and thank you very much for your time.'

  2. Brayshaw isn't going anywhere and if he does, I will be heartbroken, cos he's my fave.. Has been since he used to set up Garlett! Love how he's evolved as a player and don't care if he plays wing or half back, he's great and verging on AA at either position. Just love him. Vice Captain I reckon. Although it'd be a bit crap to take that off Viney..

6 - Oliver. Won us the game. Tore away from packs and kicked to forwards lace out. Just a terror.

5 - Brayshaw - My fave. Love him and everything he does. Like to think I'd play like that if I could run farther than the corner shop.

4 - Happy E - Legend. Love the way he plays the game. Always looking for a one-two and loves a goal.

3 - Bowey. Just can't get enough of his disposal. Love he's starting to get a little tougher too. So much time and plays the half back role well.

2 - Weid. Happy he got amongst it, but wasn't as enthused as others about his performance. Seems like a really nice guy and that, but just can't see him sticking around.. Had hoped to see Van Rooyen this game, but Sam went ok.

1 - Joel Smith - Not a fan, but his best game if you ask me. Credit where credit is due. Good spoils. Not terrible disposal. Stretched the lines. Gives us something the other defenders don't. Still, I doubt him.

Hon Mention: Fritsch. Style and technique (lower that hair though Bayley, lol). Loved how he went for the speccie at the end and did basically the same thing as he did in the GF and got one over the back. Cheeky.

  4. I realise it was the first game, but felt that Jordan was a little slow and sluggish tonight.. Although Bedford had a few fumbles early I reckon that if it was out of the two of them for next game I'd be tempted to go Bedford. So glad Toby finally got a chance - such a likeable young fella. I have no doubt that Jordan will be back to 2021 form, but looks a bit off at the moment.

  6. really enjoyable game. loved tayla harris' efforts putting pressure on in the forward line and her flying for marks. she seems so stoked to be playing with the dees and especially daisy again! love to see it.. also, bannan, mithen, pearce, paxman all really played stood out to me. loved the hard at it contest work in the last qtr from both sides.. they were clearly out on their feet.

just watched my second full replay of the GF.. i'd of course done the rewatch skipping the second and start of the 3rd quarters, but am home alone and poured some glenfiddich after dinner and just took it all in.. a few observations:

    - the dogs blatantly threw the ball around 10 times that i saw (we might've done it once?)

    - bont is a great player (obvious)

    - libba really went missing in the second half

    - sparrow was really really good. i remember thinking this at the time, but upon rewatch, he was so calm!

    - although pickett didn't kick a goal, his fingerprints were all over most of them

    - trac and oliver, once they get on top just bullied the dogs and did whatever they wanted

    * i cannot wait to see more of this.

  8. late second/early third rounder at most..

if we'd got rid of chandler, i'd be keen as, but hopeful kade will take the next step and get some games in 2022. everyone at the club seems to love him, still yet to see what they rate about him, but happy to be surprised next season. hope hill doesn't go to essendon. :-/

  9. this guy is legit hopeless.. how can say that declasse is C grade when he hasn't played a game yet? yet turner is 'needs more time'?..

just give up mate. i swear, despite us being premiers and having such a good year, the industry pundits who analyse/comment on our list must do their reports in a 5 minute email. so [censored].

My Essendon friend (yes I know, who befriends an Essendon supporter, but we’ve been friends since high school) reckons they’re right into him.
I suggest if he wants game time he goes to Essendon. They aren’t far off in terms of consistently playing finals.

I've got one of those too.. He's a real [censored]! Lol.

Yep, he can probably get a regular game at Essendon, Carlton, Collingwood, North, Geelong - any of the other shamozzle of Victorian clubs :-P

  11. Just so many.. Wouldn't like to be the one to decide! As others have said though, Kozzy & Fritsch have improved immensley, Petty is a lock down back now, Gawn improved his tap-outs (less 'clever' to effective), Oliver running out of congestion, Angus doing Angus things (in a good way), ANB setting us up as the connector....Goodwin.

  12. When we first got Brayshaw I thought he would be the one.. But he's a bit of a punk kid still, lol.. Lever another obvious candidate, but I am all for Trac. He will be a Dee for life. Love him. Others will follow him too.

I wish Tomlinson and Hunt were in this photo too.

3 superstars in their prime. 3 young guns who just got better as the year went on. 1 veteran who timed his run back in to the side right at the right moment.

May clearly wasn't 100%, Lever didn't have a great game and Petty was kept away from it too. Credit the Dogs for really working around our talls for 2.5 quarters.

But Hibberd and Rivers blanketed their men. Bowey and Salem were filling the gaps to take away the Dogs dangerous runners. And once the mids got back on top this backline found their stride and didn't look like coughing up a score.

    don't forget Nev!
