It is interesting to read the opinions on how much it shows what was wrong with the club compared with what's wrong with Col.
Col was definitely part of what was wrong with the club, and his departure was a necessary step towards improvement.

Would be nice to get Fyfe, but it's a two-bong pipe dream.

So correcting spelling and/or grammar is worse than referring to someone as a Nazi?
Grammar nazi, feminazi, econazi - they bring out my Godwinazi.

Nor was the person you were responding to... he was asking a simple question and then clarified by stating the reason for the question (although I only saw the line being quoted as the original post had been deleted).
I think it was "I'll see your leg and raise you a back and a long road trip. Now fold, sucker!"

I'm wondering if James realizes that a 2 time premiership coach is doing his job this year and if he starts taking pot shots at his employer during his leave of absence then he might not have a job to come back to? The sense of entitlement this bloke is showing is stomach turning.
Hanke is obviously working for Team Hird to put pressure on Little - unimaginable that he'd have put this out without Hird's approval. Means if Hird returns, coach and president will have the knives out for each other. If Hird returns.

Humans are merely Cancer with shoes....
I don't get this line at all, but "cancer" as a metaphor has been around for a very long time. You'd have to be desperate to occupy the moral high ground if you object to it now.

They need a nickname. The Tabbouleh twins? The Ottoman Empire? The pita partners?
I don't think Dmitri's parents would like that.
On further thought, Christian's family wouldn't be too keen, either.

Clark's progress with his foot could be progressing positivity at the club.
A language in which it's possible to "progress positivity" is just waiting to be flushed away.

I'd hate to have to sell a used car to PJ.

It's not about feeling.
It's about what is and what isn't.
The monkey flinging dung down from the treetops feels no sense of community with his targets, but his existence is meaningless without them. And he gets upset when they start flinging things back.

If clutter's a problem, why have numbers at all? So long as the issue of players sharing a surname is sorted, I don't see that numbers add anything. I try to learn to recognise the new Demons as quickly as I can each season anyway, and I don't buy a Record. The people I go with do, so I'm always asking them "Who's 29 for Norf?" - but names would remove even that diversion.

Can't say I've ever seen the term "PC" used outside the context of a whinge.

I'm with beelzebub on this. You can hold back until you see the direction (Watts, Frawley) or you can get in and set the direction (Grimes, Jones, Garland).

Pert and Roos were both Roy Boys and might relish the chance of teaming up.
It could be a reason for Roos to extend.
They could both be persuaded it represents a chance to show the AFL that clubs can be revived and dont have to be relocated.
Drawing a very long bow, but I like the way you think.

Interesting to hear from Col Garland in the video on Club website, that each player had to stand up in front of the rest and nominate 5 players for Leadership Group, you can't get more transparent than that
Had to update my faves.

There is a history of this which others are probably better off elucidating on but in the old days I understand it was to do with having names & numbers printed in the Footy Record. Forcing people to buy it. An early version of the AFL enforcing their monopolistic all knowing status.
Footy Record sales are probably still a big consideration, but the TV audience is likely a bigger one.

I'm OK with the MFC players after a couple of rounds - a few new faces, new tatts, new hairdos, what the hell - but I'm never going to memorise the opposition, so I'm for it.

I wouldn't think so he is a mid size defender, to short to play a key role.
I was thinking Garland -> Frawley, Georgiou -> Garland
-
I wonder if Georgiou was recruited with this possibility in mind?
-
My gut feeling is that he'll stay - but gut feelings and reality don't share a postcode.

There's a definite NDH quality to that LG. I'm hoping that means that, even when we lose, there'll be no more games when we lose by completely dropping our bundles for a quarter.

Fancy overlooking the bloke who has run a charity for sick kids for 15 years... that's what a victim is, not a millionaire footballer who has to 'suffer' the occasional stupid comment from the other side of the fence., Cathy Freeman and Pat rafter,
Unless you have similar objections to AOTY for Jock Sturrock, Dawn Fraser, Jack Brabham, Lionel Rose, Evonne Goolagong, Shane Gould, Robert de Castella, Kay Cottee, Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh, Cathy Freeman and Pat Rafter, I'd suggest you're just concern trolling. Because it's never about race.
