It sounds like Wagner and Hunt are also right in the race for a spot in round 1.
Wagner would need to be upgraded, presumably for Melksham, but Michie and White would surely be ahead of him.

Can't wait for the off-season to be over.

The experiment was on mice, which have a noticeably different lifestyle from humans. Significantly reducing carbs will certainly lead to weight loss if you're a bit overweight, in my limited but very successful experience, but high fat intake will offset that to some extent. Moderate fat, low carbs, you'll get there.

Too many others were hit and miss. Watts sh!ts me. He is the nicest guy Ive ever seen. The love was all around. Id swap him for Robbie Muir.
Harsh, but beautiful.

If I had an ex I would want permanent veto rights over all her future relationships unless it could be proved that her squeeze was mentally disturbed, which I would find comforting.

We all love the way Viney goes about his footy, but this incident just reinforces my belief that Brayshaw is our next captain.

Bizarre imagery.

I never knew wellbeing was an actual academic discipline. Maybe one day I'll enrol in a PhD (Procrastination).

Suspect it's more about tying them both to the club long-term. Especially with Cowan, if the Perth clubs are starting women's teams she'd be an ideal person for them to headhunt as their senior coach, but (given she's surely the premier female coach in the country) we want to keep her out of their hands.
Given there'll likely be a free-for-all with players and coaches when the new women's comp gets up and running, it makes sense to lock down the most important people ahead of time.
Well done to both ladies, and best of luck to both of them.
It's even more than that. This time next year the MFC women's team will be halfway through their pre-season. There' a hell of a lot of work to do between now and then, even though the club has been very proactive in this development. These appointments, whatever the title, have surely been about securing the best leadership for that team and having them available for planning, scouting, recruitment and above all, to signal to women who want to play footy at a national level that MFC is the place to be.

i suppose that is why a club official at the agm, when asked this, said "at worst" we would expect he would only be unavailable for a few weeks but if you want to believe they were prepared for a one season suspension, then go ahead,
If you want to believe a club official at the AGM, back at you.

I thought the possibility of a twelve-month suspension figured in the decision to offer Melksham four years rather than three. Trying to read the minds of the notoriously closed-mouthed Melbourne FD.

It's called evolution.
The average height of the human male has gone up by 25cm over the last 2,000 years.
At the risk of being nerdy:
2000 years is just a blink on the scale of evolution. I put it down to nutrition. Walk around Footscray and you'l see that the Vietnamese kids born here are noticeably taller and bulkier than their parents.
I'm not sure that accounts for the increasing height of footballers, however, but it ain't evolution, even if Bobby Skilton was a chimp.

I just tried to watch on iView and didn't last beyond his first answer. Should be on reverse pay-per-view.

I'm sure CAS is well aware of the world-wide implications of letting a club get away with systematic doping. From that perspective, the careers of individual players won't count for much.

Some of you people out there may not remember a demon player in ALAN JAKOVICH , didn't put a great effort into training and was constantly a smoker. ALAN was a natural freak.
My kind of team. 22 natural freaks with half a dozen unnatural freaks for depth.

Cogent arguments for and against. I like the idea of women's curtain raisers; I've been impressed by the games I've seen and would go early to matches to see them, but I go to enough matches already and I wouldn't make a special trip, although I would watch them on TV.
It seems the obvious way to build a following, even if a stand-alone league might be established later.

It's a very public statement and a clear message. No party boys. I don't feel anxious about the culture or the leadership.

Scully would have been well within his rights to refuse to answer, but he was being questioned by a legend of the game, the club president, who was terminally ill. He shouldn't have lied, but I don't find it hard to understand, or forgive.
Given Jimmy's state of health at the time, I expect he was concerned about the future of the club, and so he asked. But he shouldn't have.
