How on earth can people want Bruce to be captain. His kicking alone should have him dropped! Forget the captaincy
-
So what the hell chance have we got when a player is mauled by 4 blokes instantaneously, 4 blokes who have the discipline, the desire, the passion and the motivation put the man under pressure as soon as he gets the ball.
We're concerned about running the ball forward but we are defensively pissweak. As soon as we loose the ball we stop running. The amount of Adelaide players that were constantly free yestersday...bloody unbelievable. Why don't our play run as much as other teams? Are we not fit? Do we have the motivation to? Why don't we have players constanly free? Why don't we hunt in packs? Why don't we outman an opposition player 4 to 1 when they have the ball. The only way we can win games is to apply constant pressure! Where is it? Why do our blokes not run? We were lucky not to lose by 150 points yesterday. We don't have the confidence, the motivation, the application, the discipline, the desire or the NOUSE to do any of this.
Being attacked by 4 opposition players means there should be 3 unmanned demons players near the stoppage. We are not losing because there is 4 opposition players in a frame. As has been said above there is a number of reasons, but with good skills, Garland should have the skills / awareness to hit a free Melbourne player (If of course, the other players can read the play well enough to be in position).
I'll bet if we took the 'hunt in packs' philosophy into coming games we would be destroyed as it would mean there are even more free opposition players on the ball.
-
So one photo which happens to have a few opposition players in the frame depicts the reason we lose games? Get real. We could have 18 of our players around the ball and our skills would still turn the ball over.
If you can find a photo of us struggling to get the ball out of our defensive 50, then post that

funniest email of the lot, ucanchoose obviously has no idea! (hint: the first email wasn't serious...)
Email? you mean post right?

A bit far fetched given the lack of info we have on all three.

The AFL has moved away from the suburban/smaller grounds. I can't see them going back to them in Victoria. I'm sure the AFL would have contractual obligations with the MCG/Telstra Dome as well.

to be honest I think Ben Holland will retire, to allow him to hold his spot on the senior list...
As far as I know, mid season retirements don't allow for rookies to have a permanent promotion... Unless we can somehow get Holland "injured" for the rest of the season and place him on the LTI list.
-
Without having seen them in action, I have read that both have had ordinary starts to the season by their standards, but I guess all we can do is wait and see how their year progresses.
Anyone have Kreuzer's stats from early last year for comparisons sake? Both are fairly similar in terms of hype.

If Melbourne win a premiership, I'll support another team... Makes me a demon for life.
Just kidding, love the ideas. I haven't even given this much thought to be honest. But I don't think I'd go for the tattoo.

I said we've seemed to do alright. Anyway, in what aspects do you think it compare poorly with most other Clubs' affiliations?
I never said we've done poorly, just more of indifference. Hasn't be bad, hasn't been great.
Just saying it should not be an issue when deciding to align with Casey Scorpians
-
I wonder if affiliating with Casey Scorpions would be a good football move. I don't really know anything about their Club etc, but we've seemed to do alright with Sandringham.
People keep saying we've done well with the Sandringham alliance, but I've never really believed it. How have we done well? Sure, they won premierships, but that does nothing for us. Some say it develops a wining culture with our younger players... again, that has not transferred to our own side.
Bring on the Casey Scorps! This Casey Fields project is incredibly important and a very good move from a membership perspective.
-
Hmm, it does make it almost worth considering...
-
I think the question is worded badly, If there is actually a ZERO percent chance of ever winning a premiership again, then it would be very hard to stay interested. Sure, we have waited 40+ years already, but we have always had a hope of winning one. Taking away that hope, changes everything. What would we be supporting? Guaranteed failure?
-
Ugh, I would have made some good money had he won. He was clear favourite as well!
-
Yeah, we should not be recruiting anyone who less than excellent with their foot skills. Look at Geelong, every one of them are sublime with their feet.
I'm still not convinced with spending a top pick on a ruck. No use having a good ruck when none of our players are smart enough to read where its going to go.

What's this?
David Neitz press conference?

18. calabreseboy is a sensationalist.
19. calabreseboy is really good at copying and pasting quotes from last week's press.

Name superstars which we could actually have drafted with our picks then... Think you will find there isn't much we could have done.
Most people talk about Judd, Ablett, Franklin being the three best in the comp. We could not have drafted any of them.
Scapegoating CAC for not getting Franklin is pathetic.

Retire - Neitz, Yze, White, Holland
Delist - Miller, Garland, Warnock, Chris Johnson, Jamar, Bode
Trade -
Bruce - aim for pick 15-20
McLean - aim for pick 5-10
Giving us 5 picks in the top 18.
Oh yeah, who would give up pick 5 for a former pick 5 who has not delivered on what he promised? And Bruce? Pick 15?! If he is half as bad as you say he is, then we'd be lucky for pick 30.
Jamar is contracted.
-
Jesus, what the hell do you expect him to say?!
"No, we can not make the finals"??? Not going to happen after round 4.
Be realistic, thats giving up 4 rounds in if he was to say that. We know we won't make the finals, he probably knows it too, but I wouldn't expect him to say anything other than what he did.

Bailey can't hold the player's hands while they kick or handball. The blame for today's "effort" rests solely on the players in my opinion.
-
I doubt our players have the skill to follow any game plan at this stage. Id rather Bailey stick to the game plan and improve the skills of our players to make it work.
-
I vote don't even talk to him.
Not worth the trouble, media attention and is not what we need in our current development cycle.
-
Geez, other clubs would have to be smoking something heavy to trade a top 15 and top 20 pick for Bruce and Green respectively
AnyBody out there hear Dr Turf on SEN this Morning?

This guy always has a crack at the board. Im a touch skeptical about the accuracy of his statements. I mean he said himself he wasn't so sure.
