  1. Exactly, I'm more excited by Blease finally becoming consistent that a 6 point win over Box Hill.
  2. You have to wonder if Roosy has told the MFC players to concentrate on their deficiencies and he's not too worried about the result of the match.
  3. Fitzy seems to have taken a step backwards this year; perhaps Roosy has told him he has to improve other aspects of his game and he's concentrating on them.
  4. I seriously cannot understand why MFC supporters would think we would be better off without him. He's a very good option up forward and once he gets a bit more experience he will be a gem. Bird in the hand versus one in the bush.
  5. We need more than one player setting the example. It's my opinion that Jones is playing better football this year because he's had the pressure of being our midfield taken off him, there's no reason to think that Jordie won't be a better player with Cross, Vince and Tyson taking some of the pressure of him as well. I'm not applauding him for getting a handball or two away, I'm applauding him for being in the right position to be able to. Let's just see how the rest of the year pans out before we write him off, you might be pleasantly surprised, there has been plenty of improvement in Pederson, Matt Jones and Jetta so why not Jordie. I appreciate you don't like him but just give him a few more games before you make a judgment,
  6. Rohan was sub last week and came on for about a quarter; he failed to get a possession. Not sure why everyone on here wants us to put in a bid for him.
  7. Couldn't agree more, he's one of my favourite players to watch; just love his aggression and the way he plays it hard, particularly against the new "stars" to get the ascendancy.
  8. I would imagine he will sign, unless you have news to the contrary. Won't need to look at Patton and we can now concentrate on picking a couple of quality mids.
  9. Great news, now Chip can sign and we will have a finals side for next year.
  10. We are banking on two things here 1) Hogan plays and performs really well 2) Hogan stays; the problem is that he may not play as well as we hoped he would and he may not stay. If he plays well and stays we are on the way, if he doesn't or leaves and we lose Chip we are back to a one man forward line and if Dawes has a problem with his calf again we are stuffed. This is more than Chip leaving, it is about our ability to keep players, especially if Hogan leaves as well and it may mean the difference between us having, potentially one of the best forward lines in the competition to having just another ordinary one, like Carlton, with Waite as their only big forward. This is a big decision for both Chip and the club.
  11. That may be so, but in the meantime we need players that will set an example of running hard and never giving up and Jordie fits that bill. We have to change the thinking of the players and you need players like Jordie, Cross and Riley that will kill to get to the ball. Jordie sets an example that hopefully others will follow.
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if Rawlings gets the gig but after the left field choice of Dew, who knows what Roosy has in mind. Kirk and Ling are both inexperienced but he may think that after 2 years under him they'll be ready. It's a tough one and I'm sure we are in the right hands; hopefully he will just stay on for another 10 years and 5 flags.
  13. If Roosy stays and wins a flag for the Dees he will be Deemed to be the best coach in the AFL, ever. As it is he has performed a minor miracle in getting us competitive and playing to some sort of a plan, as well as resurrecting the careers of several players previously thought of as duds. He's actually made it a pleasure to go to the football again and I thank him sincerely for that.
  14. It was an interesting day for me, it was my birthday, I was on holidays in Paris and we got flogged, at least I didn't have to sit through the game.
  15. If someone said they would offer you pick 5 or 6 for Chip you would tell them to come back when they were serious; that's what we are looking at if he walks so I can't see how we will be well compensated. I understand what the thread is about, but let's not undersell chip and suggest he's worth an ordinary pick. If this is like the 2003 draft we could be looking at swapping him for Brock McLean.
  16. Quite right, Chip is a very good player and for some reason, the speculation that he's going is causing a lot of posters to question his ability, well that's not in doubt. If it was then why would every other club grab him if they could, don't hate him because his manager is doing what he's supposed to.
  17. And we won, they can talk as much as they want to about the numbers, but the only number that counts is the final score. If they feel they were robbed they can try to even up next year, good luck with that.
  18. The fact that he didn't want to go to GWS and has been sub for a few weeks would suggest that he wants to go back home and they know it. Worth a shout but ultimately you'd be looking over your shoulder waiting for him to return to WA.
  19. Exactly, players get tired and they don't always know how much time there is to go, they may have considered that they needed another score to seal the game.
  20. This is a Victorian Workcover matter and they have no jurisdiction in other States.
  21. They are totally different people so that's a bit unfair. Chip will be invaluable if Hogan doesn't come up or if we have an injury down back, he's a lot better footballer than he's given credit for on this forum. We can't continually lose good experienced players if we want to climb up the ladder and if our senior players leave, what signal does that send to anyone we chase.
  22. Could be one of two things; they said they didn't know what they were giving the players, therefore putting them in potential harm, or they did know what they were giving them, knew that some of the drugs were experimental therefore putting the players in potential harm.
  23. It states "The EFC is already the subject of investigation by the Authority. No investigation or prosecution of any other AFL clubs has been announced."
  24. Anzac Eve would be a good get if we played Richmond, you would always expect a crowd of around 60,000, swap home game each year.
  25. I spoke with Jeremy Howe at the FH Dinner and he said the players have respect for Rawlings and they all like him, they think he's doing a great job. I asked him if he would put his hand up for the job and he seemed to think he would, that doesn't mean he would get it of course.
