  1. Going by the stats it looks as though Jamar is having his usual influence?
  2. Wow that was quick. Thank you very much.
  3. Quick question for Whispering Jack or anyone else who may know. Where did Melbourne train between 1985 and 1994?
  4. A game such as Queen's Birthday would probably still be a home game, played at the MCG. Currently Melbourne don't play all their home games at the MCG so it wouldn't be a big issue. With regards to finances, I found this interesting article: Bigger isn't better
  5. If you're going to respond, please take the time to read the post.
  6. Firstly, this idea may have been floated before so forgive me if I'm covering old ground. I've been thinking about the new rectangular stadium being built that will ultimately become Melbourne's new training base and headquarters. The idea of the new stadium is to provide something specifically for Rugby and Soccer, but was it ever considered to make the stadium/ground big enough to play Aussie Rules as well? For example, a stadium with a retractable seating system that allowed it transfer from an AFL ground to one suited for Rugby/Soccer. The MCG is a fantastic venue, but is it too big for a club like Melbourne? Instead of being shared by competing AFL teams, Melbourne could share the venue with the Storm and Victory, giving some value to Team Melbourne (which currently doesn't include the Victory). In reality, it will be a rectangular ground and I wouldn't know if making it big enough for Aussie Rules is feasible or practical, but I am interested to see what people think of moving away from the MCG (still within Melbourne) to a ground with a smaller capacity?
  7. If I got the information from Judd's grandma then maybe...
  8. Jamar played one OK game in the time that PJ was out, who until being injured was one of Melbourne's best. Out: Jamar In: PJ
  9. Carroll is a player that can good when the team is travelling well, but shouldn't be relied upon to carry the backline. I don't know a lot about Adelaide, however they never seem to have any big forwards and therefore it may be a match-up issue as much as anything.
  10. This article only makes reference to the AFL's findings, so it's not exactly what I wanted but close enough. "What our figures show is the clubs spending more on their football department are more likely to play in finals" Battling Kangas up against it
  11. Worried that Melbourne might win a contested ball? Leg speed won't be a factor if Melbourne have their kicking boots on.
  12. Found it. Thanks anyway.
  13. Jamar played one OK game while PJ was out. PJ should come straight in.
  14. This was with regards to the whole AFL.
  15. I was just wondering if anyone here remembers the AFL bringing out a report earlier this year, which found that clubs with better training facilities and alike were more likely to be successful? If so, does anyone remember anything being written about it and if so, where to find it? I've been looking for many an hour through various sources but have come up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  16. I actually laughed then.
  17. Sorry, left out key word: "current".
  18. FFS I don't see the big deal about a few posters simple having a chat about who supported what club out of "interest".
  19. I thought McLean didn't follow any one? No.
  20. It's strange to think that not that long ago he was one of us following the Dees through all their (very few) highs and lows. I'd love to see a team made up of Melbourne supporting players, it would be interesting to see. - S. Buckley - Judd - Franklin - Pendlebury (?) - Moloney Who else?
  21. Casey is only a Summer training base, until the new stadium (and everything around it) is complete. At the moment, Melbourne don't have a permanent Summer training base. Over Winter ( or at least until the cricket finishes) Melbourne have Junction Oval. When the new stadium is complete, both Summer and Winter training will be done there.
  22. I love it when an aboriginal small forward comes along they have to have these three attributes for them to be any good...
