  1. I couldn't make it to the game, so don't count these votes. 6. Bate 5. Davey 4. Wonaeamirri 3. McLean 2. Garland 1. Green Too many errors from Bruce today.
  2. If you want people to read your posts: 1) Make them smaller. 2) Space out your sentences. 3) Punctuate. But yes, if you're not a player with the profile of Lance or Mitchell, don't expect to have the umpires adjudicate fairly. There's always bad umpiring, but Lance and Mitchell could have gotten away with murder today.
  3. Did you like Casey Fields, Rogue?
  4. I agree. IMO it's a long-term move. There will be no quick fix from playing a few games there but if done well over a period of several years it could go towards helping the MFC's off-field problems.
  5. Just on a side note with relation to Casey Fields, just about all economic research has found that new stadiums provide zero economic benefit for the towns in which they are built. Despite what they have said, whether or not the Casey council go through with the project is another matter.
  6. How much money are Melbourne making playing in front of crowds of up to 20K at the MCG? They are not, they are losing money. All the evidence (that I've come across) suggests that smaller stadiums are more profitable for clubs. The issue is, if there is a smaller ground, will people go? As far as I'm concerned, if Casey does become an option, they won't just be seeking the Melbourne-based Melbourne fans. It will have two key elements; providing the MFC with a more economically suitable facility and using it as a means of growing the supporter base in this fast growing area.
  7. I think he means, different in what you get from the ticket...
  8. They must have been reading this thread I started... Visionary, I am.
  9. Effing Bigpond. I use a Mac, so I can't use Internet Explorer (which is what the site requires) becuase Firefox won't work and Safari (Mac's internet browser) scrambles the picture. The game I was trying to watch is Melbourne v West Coast, round 7, 2004 (the game where Sampi took MOTY). Just look at who is playing on each team, incredible to think (now) that Melbourne could win so comprehensively. It was a great game to watch and some of the best football I have ever seen Melbourne play. I think I might have to buy it through Name A Game.
  10. I'm just going off this article. Hence my use of the word "apparently". Casey in bid for AFL glory
  11. The set-up. The amount of space, there are three ovals I think. There is hardly a lot of seating, but apparently the Casey council are willing to build to give it a 20,000 seating capacity. What is there is modern and in very good condition. There was easy access to and from the area and plenty of parking.
  12. To put in perspective just how long Neitz has been at the club, when he started in 1993 I was just starting Primary School. I'm now in my second year of university (would be my third if I didn't take a year off). It's not going to be the same without him.
  13. Are you thinking of recruiting who I think you're thinking of recruiting? He is a Brownlow medalist after all, and no he doesn't play for the Dogs.
  14. If true, a sad ending for such a great player. Well done Neita.
  15. You sure do love your tackle stats.
  16. The point is, they are opting to play away from the MCG.
  17. Wait I know, the player on the left is going for a low blow. Dirty tactics.
  18. I wasn't being serious...
  19. Stretchy jumpers?
  20. I'm warming to this idea and not just because Cranbourne is a lot closer for me than the 'G. I was thoroughly impressed with Casey Fields when I saw Melbourne play North there, well before the idea was proposed. Hawthorn seem to be doing quite well out of playing some games in Tassie and the beauty of Cranbourne (I never thought I'd say that) is that it is still accessible for most fans in the Melbourne area.
  21. I had a feeling it was at the Dome. Thanks.
  22. Like you, I'm not sure but I think he may have a career outside of football that he did not want disrupt.
  23. While Jamar settles himself in the team with his one handpass...
  24. In Melbourne the ABC are the best for calling footy, but today I didn't even bother because as you mentioned it is all just completely one-sided.
