I prefer the new logo. As for jumpers, I like the idea of inversed colours or at worst the royal blue. There's enough white in the white shorts, keep the jumper red and blue.

At the game, I thought that Milne would definitely get weeks for his head-high contact on Frawley. It may have looked different on TV (and it was foggy), but I am surprised that nothing has been reported on it. Has anyone seen the footage again?

Agree. Agree. Agree. Agree.

It is a little difficult when you're constantly outnumber.

I remember bringing up a very similar point to Lane's some time ago.

Pretty much.

He was one of the hardest working players on the field, offensively and defensively. What summed up the games for me yesterday was when Aussie was having a shot for goal from about 50 out. The kid can just make the distance normally, but he tends to kick it very low. The forward line was surprisingly open, however most Melbourne players were too busy having a scuffle in the centre square, leaving Aussie with very little choice but to have a shot. Because he was so far out and kicks the ball so low he kicked it straight into the man on the mark. On a day full of terrible mistakes, Aussie was one of few players who I actually felt confident with when he had the ball. It's just a shame that such poor leadership was shown (on this occasion) and right throughout the day.

I have a three hour exam that starts at 2.30 on Monday. They couldn't have timed it any worse... -
I'm shocked at the votes so far. 6. Aussie 5. Garland 4. Warnock 3. PJ 2. Sylvia 1. Bate (for the first ten minutes of the game)

Drew Morphett doesn't have a team. -
Even more lame. What's with all of the Facebook stalking going on here?

Thanks for the summary Rogue.

See this is where I don't like people having a general go at those who don't go to games. "It was a disappointing turnout, and those who stayed home when they could have easily made it to the match, because they thought we'd get smashed, really need to rethink their status as Melbourne supporters.' For me, it's roughly two hours each way to the footy, that's with driving and a train. I wanted to go on the weekend, however I simply did not have the time to spend almost four hours traveling. It makes a big difference. I realise I'm probably in the minority as most people would live a lot closer to the 'G (and Jaded was probably referring more to these people), but these kinds of sweeping statements frustrate me to no end.

I couldn't make it to the game unfortunately. Roughly how long does it take people to get the MCG, by car or other transport?

Not happy with the other thread that I started and you added to? It's the second time Holland has injured his shoulder diving on the ball. P.S. He is built like a brick...

In order to earn a holding the ball decision, you must tackle legally. Otherwise we may as well allow tripping and head-high tackles if the player has the ball.

As much as we all know that players (in general) couldn't give a stuff about playing for the team they supported, it's nice to hear a young player talk about wanting to play for the club and with the players he grew up supporting.

My 3 word player analysis V The Torks
Straight Sets Simon replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
What I found pleasing with Miller, was despite not continuing his good form early in the game he didn't appear (from watching on TV) to be as much of a liability that he may have been in the past. That sounds harsh, but there is clearly an overall improvement to his game. That contested mark he took was a ripper too. -
A boutique ground at Casey - the vision

You said over at Demonology that you went to Casey Fields, were you impressed with it? -
I did too Jarka. But I stand by what I said, because at the start of the year he was truly shocking. But the guy is getting there and has played as well (if not better) on Franklin than anyone else this season.

With Neitz retiring, much has been stated about his ability to be a first class defender and then forward. One of the reasons that he has been such a great player over the years. Brad Miller has been tried down back, but looks far better when leading up from the forward line. Alas, there is another man who is doing a job at both ends. Ben Holland. Despite his apparent weaknesses, this man time and time again comes in does his job when required. However, it wasn't just the goals he was kicking that impressed me. His attack on the ball and his forward line pressure was superb from the man who runs like a robot. I have no doubt that in a few weeks time, he'll again be asked to do another, vastly different job Anthony Rocca. This is likely to be his last season at Melbourne, and I just hope that some of the younger players like Newton take the time to see just how hard this guy works.

White in for Jamar. Jamar still jumps ten minutes too early in the ruck, is afraid to kick the ball and was fumbling the ball far too often. Yesterday was a better game by his standards, but still not good enough IMO. I pretty much agree with all of those outs, Bell had a shocker yesterday I thought.

The correct decision was made. A push in the back is always a push in the back. Davey made no attempt to roll the player over, as hard as it would have been.

I was thoroughly impressed with his composure and awareness today. He was one of the reasons Melbourne got off to such a good start.
