Saturday Talking Point: The NAB Challenge
faultydet replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Cant believe what I am reading! Some of you dont give a schit about NAB Cup???? It means that footy is back. And I for one couldn't care less if its a glorified practice match, i will be glued to the TV all the same. Ok, call me what you will, but my wife has just joined me from the Philippines, and, while I could have had Optus Internet/Pay TV installed, including a Philippines TV package that would have made her very happy, I instead told her that our best option was Telstra, as it is much more reliable for internet, hence making Facebook easily accessible. Its a fortunate coincidence that the Telstra/Foxtel combo also includes the Footy Channels. I really do love her............but jeeeez, its footy, or crappy Flip overacting TV. What is a man to do? -
Has the title been altered? If not wtf are you on about?

There is absolutely no way on gods green earth the the fixers who run the afl, would EVER allow Colonwood, Essedon, Carlton, or Richmond to be relegated. EVER. I dont know why anyone would even bring that absurd notion up, when referring to the afl.
-
Yeah, poor bugger. The only thing he did wrong was being injected with a banned, performance enhancing drug, and as anyone in the afl will tell you, its not really worth suspending anyone over. Maybe he should be awarded this years also.
-
We would've rolled over, admitted guilt, and had our entire list serve a full 2 years on the sidelines. The convicted drug cheats only lose 12 of 34, for 1 year, with ZERO team penalty. I think we all know the path to take when we feel like cheating.......essedon, the drug fuelled cheaters, wrote a lovely script to follow.

If you can't find the ball yourself, you need to be elite with the other stuff. Apart from straight line speed, does this kid have anything else that would indicate he is an AFL level player? I'm always a sceptic of a midfielder who is not a even a Casey firsts regular contributor, after 2 years in the system. Dont hold much hope for him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
faultydet replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
4 competitive types in that whole list, and none of them a maniac like Viney. Oliver (by reputation) certainly signals a continuation of a very un-Melbourne direction. I hope he is as crazy at the ball as we have heard. Madmen with skill, win finals. Wouldnt we all love to see a winning final again? -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

This thread will continue to veer off in various directions, until we have seen him play. Annoying as it is, nobody can give informed comment yet, therefore the conversation gets sidetracked easily. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
faultydet replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
While I love the look of that, I must admit that I was almost as excited by Scully Trengove Morton Gysberts Tapscott Maric Jones Strauss (for a very short time) God, what a bloody awful group of players. -

Cotchin is better than Oliver ? -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

Ive seen you say this many times on here. I've been saying for years, that the world is full to the brim, with incredibly stupid people. Try working in a coal mine, where the average income, is around twice the average i.q of the workers. If you want to fit in, just add "ay" to the end of every sentence. As for the argument about Jones/Cotchin, haven't people, since the beginning of time, been saying that the greats should be judged by their influence in finals? Compare Cotchin with Hodge. Sometimes raw talent cant overcome whats lacking inside the head. Thats not to say that Cotchin isn't more talented than Jones. I just dont think the gap is all that big. -
Who will form our leadership group in 2016?
faultydet replied to UltimateDemon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Cant lead from the stands Griff. Viney is exactly the type to inspire, like good leaders do. None of that list, with the exception of Jones, does anything to inspire.Just because we made a mistake with Grimes (Trenners exempt due to injury), shouldnt exclude Viney from getting a look in. He appears to have a mental toughness that Grimes could only dream about. And I cant see any reason for Lamumba to be in the leadership group this season. He is not a leader just because he has a premiership medallion. He shows stuff-all else. -
Who will form our leadership group in 2016?
faultydet replied to UltimateDemon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thats a sad looking list Griff. reflective of our standing in the footy world I reckon. Some very ordinary players in that lot, and one or 2 who may see very limited game time. Trengove? Wow, terrible choice. Will be lucky to play again at the top level. Dont lump extra responsibility on him yet. Needs to make it on the park, and show he can be a footballer first. -
Winners are grinners. Drug cheats can please themselves.

CAS has delivered the verdict that many of us had been expecting all along. I'm annoyed about the small penalty, as I was hoping they would miss 2 seasons, but I'm jumping for joy at a guilty finding. For all of those media sycophants, and delusional essedon supporters, who have been spouting [censored] through the whole saga, I say this. Just because you want something so so bad, it doesnt mean that if you say something often enough, that it will come true. Your twisting of, or simple ignoring, of blindingly obvious facts, has painted you all as fools of the highest order. Years of pushing an agenda, of telling and re telling the story through your essedon tainted glasses, in a vain attempt to influence people, thinking this would help to get your boys off, has been seen by CAS for what it was. Nothing but bummers propaganda. You, essedon, are now CONVICTED DRUG CHEATS. Many of you are STILL arguing that this was some kind of conspiracy, a setup. But you have been found GUILTY of using PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS. And one other thing. You were convicted using evidence that was gathered by ASADA. ASADA evidence had you convicted as drug cheats. ASADA AND BEN MCDEVITT KICKED YOUR CHEATING ASSES. The little afl tribunal couldnt protect you from bigger forces, that dont give a stuff about your insignificant schit stain of a club You filthy, stinking, cheating drug users. May you suffer for years after your players return. I hope all of you delusional priks choke on your wasted words. You lost - Clean sport won. Die essedon. Just die.

They simply cannot get allowances for every delay. Do people really think that a drug case like this would have been decided overnight, even if the records had been produced?
-
Agree with this. The only fair outcome, considering the stalling/lying/cheating/covering up that has occurred.
-
Absolutely staggers me that anyone would think this. These delays have been caused by the club accused of drug cheating. They deserve everything that is coming to them, and even more. Couldn't give a stuff for them being "liberated" I want to see them eviscerated. Long may the scum suffer.

I like the way he didn't cower when faced by the gaggle of journos. Its a small issue, blown up by leftist press. Mel is hot. Very very hot. Big deal
-
Gayle is from a different culture. Inappropriate, but hardly worth all the uproar. Would have been funny to see Mel deliver a quick putdown line, but wasn't the case. As for idiotic comments about past inequalities being a basis for ignoring a similar indiscretion by a woman......typical of that poster. A crusader. Female warrior.

Thanks Red. As for Jurrah, for all of his incredible skills, he was easily one of the softest players I have ever seen in a Dees jumper. Remember watching him live in 3 games, and getting quite angry watching him find new ways to avoid physical contact. It was embarrassing. If we had 21 other stars, with manic defensive pressure, we could carry Jurrah, but sadly we dont. Pity, as he is one of the most exciting players I have ever seen, for any club.
-
The AFL should definitely be looked at, and their tip off / cover up exposed. Wont happen though. I still haven't read anywhere if essedon itself can be banned from a competition. It's my belief that they should.
-
Thats right. Victims of their own propaganda. Deserve to get smacked, just a pity it was by the bloke who could have cleared all of this up on day 1, by coming forth with the records of injection.
-
With boxing, the most rigged, and over exposed "sport" on earth. Hey Red, just quickly, has your mate/acquaintance who was involved in the AFL hearing against essedon, offered an opinion of the latest hearings? (sorry, wrong thread I know, just interested)

Dont really need to wish everyone a merry Christmas. I've realised you are all drunks anyway, so holiday merriment is a given. But please stay safe everyone. Families don't need to grieve a lost one at this time of year.
