I always thought his "hardness" was overrated when he was with the dons. Of course, I will see him as hard as a UFC fighter when he runs out for the Dees. Still think we overpaid greatly for him, but Roos has a habit of getting good value for trade ins. As for the other 2, its free of charge, so I hope like hell they end up here.

Just read your unanswered post about Family Court.
Did anyone reply at all?
I've been through separation and worst of all, Child Support Agency, and have now come out the other side, admittedly many years back now.
You cant and wont have a win INSIDE family court, but I wish you well with whatever happens.

Demons in National Women's League
faultydet replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
It would be hard to conceal any bias, when she has already been the captain of the first ever women's side, for us. Simply must play for us. Fat eddie can gagf. So can dill the dweeb for that matter. -

They will be praying for either carlton or colonwood to win the first "flag" no doubt. Better for the finances and all that. -

Couldn't happen. Nah, no way. Isn't she our nominated marquee player? -
That midfield minus Prestia had delivered us 6 wins and 7 losses. I'm not so sure about "increadible", although I would be excited to get Dion to sign with us for sure.
-
If he does a job on Betts this week, he might start to get a mention. Imo needs much more consistency to be seriously considered. Very happy with the signing though. Others would definitely have been sniffing around. Good stuff Nev, now deliver on Sunday.

There wouldnt be a player in the comp who wouldnt want to play the 2 games. Playing Grimes in 2 otherwise unwinnable games is not going to hurt our chances by a noticeable amount. We can all see that he wont be on our list next year. I hope he gets to play them.
-
If he as much of a destabilizing influence as is rumored, then its an easy No. Would cost a lot, and although a very good player when fit, would not be the kind of "personality", that would encourage team first ideals. Every spare cent should be thrown at Hurley. No picks needed, no players traded, just cash. Prestia, Hibberd, Hurley would make a massive difference to our chances of finals next year, and its simply a leap we must take, for everyone's sanity. Oh, and welcome to the forum TD. You will converse with assorted drunks and perverts here. Console yourself with the fact that most are already in Gods departure lounge, and as such, senility features heavily in their rants.

Greater Western Sydney (a dynasty to rival the Hawks)
faultydet replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good point LG. Equality abounds....... -
I say this with no disrespect willmoy, but....... We bluebloods back the MFC through thick and thin, but I have no doubt that most players from opposition sides would call our bluff, and call "false dawn", as they have a few times over the past 2 decades or so. We need to start winning games. Others can turn it around fast (witness bulldogs), but we have a long history of looking like a list full of young prodigies, only to fall flat on our face time after time. Start winning MFC, and stop making excuses to lose.

So it would be good to acquiesce to the outrageous demands of dodo, and sell the farm, rather than take a fantastic player for free? I think if you were to join our recruiting team, That would be the worrying precedent.....

Mother/Son and Father/Daughter rules
faultydet replied to Demonland's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
At first thought (without reading the rule), it seems incredibly unfair to the teams that dont have a womens side.. Its a new recruiting avenue only available to the select few. -
I think a few people are letting game day excitement get to them. Can see us winning today. Sydney are a damn good side at home. Short break for us No changes... etc etc

Demons in National Women's League

Then why the strange comments from Dil? And why was she saying that she would consider sitting out? Does "nominated" simply mean that we ask, but the afl gets to approve/veto? -

I was under the impression that each team was going to be able to nominate its marquee players, then a draft would be held for the leftover players. When did this change? -

And its a typical response from some to label anything negative as sexist. Its quite a weak argument '14. Most of the comments are based around income/payments. Nothing sexist at all as far as I'm concerned. AS for mysoginistic, you have clearly fallen victim to gillards re-interpretation of the word. No evidence whatsoever, of women haters in this thread. Get a grip. -

I can see the headline now. "Dees investigated for draft tampering". Good for her. Its nice to have the Gary Ablett of womens football leading our mob. -

Will be interested to see how our current memberships will be affected by this. Will entry to Women's games be included in a membership, or will it be a stand alone category? Will we pay more for a membership to accommodate the addition of Women's games? Not sure I would be too keen on paying extra for something I have no intention to use, but they will need to fund the comp somehow. Its for this reason I would like to see the games played as curtain raisers to Men's games where possible. Would minimize the costs involved, leaving more cash for the players. Great chance to gain more followers and members. Lets hope it is embraced by all. -

SURELY you are joking? You simply must be. How about the women build their own brand and followers before anyone whinges about the cash. You need to generate cash in order to pay it out. I don't think you're going to have the men's comp agreeing to part with any of their share for the girls. If the women's comp generates more cash, pay them more, but until that day, you get essentially what you deserve. I expected us and Bullies to get a start, but I'm annoyed about carlton and colonwood. Watch them get the opening game, and all of the prime fixturing. -
If true, I can only conclude that the whole damn lot of them knew exactly what was going on with the drugs.

Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
faultydet replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Cant understand for the life of me why it hasn't happened yet. There must be some serious intimidation going on behind closed afl doors. Dees, tell them all to go to hell. If we are seriously trying to land Hurley and Hibberd, they would surely understand that they have a better chance of playing in a successful side, if that side does not need to entertain that idiot Dodoro. Finally a chance to show some balls. Lets do it. -

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/teams/adelaide/adelaide-crows-linked-with-banned-essendon-allaustralian-michael-hurley/news-story/1822a3d86dcab1a3c59afac05d2f40d1 Under the AFL’s grievance policy, it is understood he could invoke a previously unused clause in his player contract that would allow him to leave the Bombers and join the club of his choice next year. Under the policy, any player who has a grievance with his club has the right to have that grievance aired through the AFL grievance tribunal as part of the AFL collective bargaining agreement. Hurley could argue there has been a breach of his contract, particularly as Essendon has pleaded guilty to two charges laid by WorkSafe Victoria for breaching the Occupational Health and Safety Act over the club’s handling of its 2012 supplements program. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/essendon/banned-essendon-players-could-be-convinced-to-walk-out-on-club-with-rivals-circling/news-story/10d9f4f1f3855939e4cfd6c44cc1eace Up to six clubs have spoken to Hurley’s manager Paul Connors about invoking a previously unused clause in the player contract which would allow the banned Hurley to leave Essendon and join the club of his choice. All 12 suspended Essendon players – who could become delisted free agents if they choose – could use the same trigger to leave Essendon. -

Realistic is living in the real world. Hurley can leave for nothing. Its not make believe. -

faultydet replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why? The last article I read said Hurley had an "out" clause in his contract if he was suspended for the drugs thing. If that is the case, we offer him an attractive contract, and tell him that its on the condition he tells essedon to eff off. It's actually not that hard. Just requires a backbone. This one is not a pipe dream.
