He has done some incredibly stupid things, to be fair.
-
Wonder if Port will announce the same thing this round. Those C&*^s get a free ride off us every year. Makes me fkng furious.

Welcome Dee. Its a great place to be when we win. Hope the boys bring it home for you.

Is talking about him incessantly considered by the law to be a breach of restraining order?
-
He probably wouldn't need to if you didn't bait him so often
-
Grow a pair.
-
But it shouldn't be Petrac. They have won nothing this year, and we are said to have improved. If that's true, we should win easily. Too many bloody excuses.
-
Cant argue with that, but at least it appears we are pulling out all stops to change it. That makes me happy.

Freo by 30 odd. And their media to go nuts post game about how they will get Hogan for sure, after embarrassing us yet again.

haha, cut and paste from Wiki. All the formatting was done for us.......

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16
faultydet replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is a game we cannot lose if we are looking to seduce stars across. Too many times in the last decade, have we found an excuse to lose to a mob near the bottom. "They were top 4 last year", "They have had a long injury list", "They have stars who were playing under their ability until this week" etc, etc, etc. Lets make a statement, and nail this mob to the wall. Bugger the short break, stuff the heat, ignore the age/experience profile. Just give us a damn win Melbourne. -
Picket, I agree that he has had his best year with us (limited sample of course), even better than when he finished top 10 b&f. He is very handy depth if he continues to play the way he has this year. He should also be proud of his efforts, considering so many of us were shaking our heads, wondering why he was kept on.. I guess he is another who goes some way to prove that a footballers best years are late 20's. Maybe I should look at our list profile and smile, instead of being a sad sack.
-
I would agree that he has moved up the list of discards with his efforts this year, and at times I have actually been pleasantly surprised. But, anyone thinking that he only needs to eradicate the brain fade moments from his game in order to be a regular, should take a breath. He has been around far too long for that to happen. "Smarts" are not a skill that can be taught, by even the greatest coaches. It's either there, as in the case of Oliver, or it isn't.

Would need a 3 year contract extension to pull that one off. -

Nice post mate, except you can bash the blues where the sun dont shine. Hope you are doing well also kniggit. Its not just the media types who matter. -
etc would surely include my favorite defender ever, in Glenn Archer. How we would love a player like that now. Who were the Swans elite defenders when they won their 2005 flag? B: 28 Jared Crouch 21 Leo Barry 30 Lewis Roberts-Thomson HB: 4 Ben Mathews 6 Craig Bolton 17 Tadhg Kennelly Thats hardly elite. Shows the old "champion team" thingy is sometimes real hey?
-
You know him picket? Wonder what it was about him that kept him out this long? Hope he lights it up, as we could certainly use another hard at it, but skillful half back.

Trenners if finished. Let it go. -
Nice to hear, and thanks for the reply. I was impressed when I saw him play last year. Not a soft koch, and delivers well.
-
I'm really surprised that it took this long. What's his contract status anyone? Is this one of those "let 'im play to see if we bother keeping him" moments?. Or has he won his spot based on form alone?
-
5 more weeks for us to work on him then. I'd happily see our mob pay that for Hurley.
-
Fair enough too. Imagine what Hibberd, and in particular Hurley, are going to cost us. I'm thinking smoke/fire. Hoping like hell that there is something to this. This is a true test of our new found, or should I say, newly declared "destination club" status. Still think we need to get some more wins to make ourselves look like the place to be. Dion would be great for us, but you dont pay that sort of cash, without removing yourself from the market where other players are concerned.
