Can you possibly post exactly what Connolly said please? I would like to see for myself what brought on the full frontal assault from Jacko. Maybe he was high when he wrote the story.
-
Now if anything is irrelevant to what he said, it's that. Anyone who lines up our club in that fashion when it's completely uncalled for, can gagf.
-
Jaeger could have his leg amputated, and I would still be mightily [censored] if he ended up at essedon.
-
Not a different topic at all SWYL. Jackovich absolutely teed off on Connolly, and brought up the past to back it up, including a huge slight on our club. One already dead and another on the way, from drug use that was present while Jacko was playing. Connolly hasn't stooped to that level, so why would Jacko go in so hard? Glass houses Glen Jackovich, glass houses.
-
Jakovich went way over the top. He can stick his tanking fair up his ass. Did Connolly criticise his choice of W.A players alone, or did he mention that there will always be a massive question mark of the thought processes of anyone who played for the Eagles in Jacko's time, because of the rampant drug use? [censored] him.

Yep, the kid is cooked. Absolutely no hope of recovery whatsover. Really feel for him, and wish him the best in his next career. (P.S.D pick 8 - Melbourne: Ah we will take, hmmmm, not sure. Jaeger O'Meara thanks.)

Melbourne v Bulldogs All-Stars Women's match
faultydet replied to whers_jacka_now's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
Yeah, the insurance thing is strange. Are the representing our club or not? Are the men provided free insurance? If not, then there is no equality issue. I think it will take several years to get the talent base up to scratch to support the growing number of clubs, and I expect the AFL will have the same view. It's a big call to expect girls to play like pro's, and train as such, but risk their main incomes, for a return of 5 grand a season. Hope that increases substantially, as the competition gets fully established. But of course, they need to generate the income also. Time will tell. -

Careful mate, you will be called out for spotting that one of the girls is hot. -
Yes. They could disguise it as allowing the Lions to pick up an extra experienced player, while giving them first crack at O'Meara for free via P.S.D, and forcing clubs to give a good deal to G.C. And it makes things harder for essedon. Nice thinking.

I would like to have had Harris. She is fantastic. This is the best of the best playing for 2 teams. Once the talent is spread out it won't be nearly as good to watch. This game is a good spectacle though. -

Was just thinking that myself. She is a booming kick, and has magnificent hands also. Bloody good looking too. A face that sells memberships. Shame she is a Lion now. That Dees defender that signed with the Crows as a marquee player doesn't take any crap. Quite tough and physical. -
Open Letter To The Melbourne Football Club
faultydet replied to inanunda's topic in Melbourne Demons
To the o.p, you are nothing if not passionate about the club that we both support. Personally, I would be embarrassed to send the club something like that, but at the same time, I am happy that we have supporters who care deeply about our team, and I say thanks for sharing your obviously heartfelt, if misguided post. Many of us, including myself, get cranky when we cop a hiding, but if we take the time to understand where we are now, it's a sunny light we are heading towards. Well done for taking the time, but you need to know that most people in power positions at the club will not read the words you type. Chin up mate, and enjoy the ride that I can see coming. Soon..... -
CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS - VFL FINALS WEEK 1
faultydet replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I usually enjoy your mad posts, but this is not one of them. I am a big believer in making your VFL affiliate as strong as possible. I will be following Casey's finals with a keen interest. If they are happy to associate themselves with a team that nobody else would touch over that past decade, that's good enough for me. Valuable finals experience for our young guys too. Very happy. -
CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS - VFL FINALS WEEK 1
faultydet replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks Declan. Good luck. -
Would be interested to see how he would have gone with the list we have now. The game plan was garbage, but who knows how he saw it developing once we had the list he envisaged. Wait, thinking about it more, we would have been in even more trouble, as the game has travelled in a 180 degree direction from where he has us heading. Imagine playing today's top teams, with a list full of Mortons/Bleases/Gysberts etc. OMG, horrific. Poor bastard really was out of his depth.

Mitch Clark - did we dodge a bullet?
faultydet replied to thesleepinggiant's topic in Melbourne Demons
Clark was a sensation for us early. He really did explode in the early games for us. Such a bloody shame, as he looked like the star we had been craving. -
I kind of get your curiosity on this one Saty. If Oscar improves at the rate he did throughout this year, we will have a top liner on our hands.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
faultydet replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
He is a kid, who has already played dominant games. Seriously dominant games, including mauling the premier defender in the league. He is the kind of player who wins finals for you, once mature. The guy is a star. For christ sake Jesse, stay with the Dees. -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
faultydet replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hogan is going to be a superstar of the league. We have been searching, and praying to whatever deity we believe in, that we could finally find someone that every other club would be envy green over. "Why can't it be us", we think, while watching Dangerfield/Franklin//Fyfe tear teams apart. We have one. Hogan is OURS. It will be a fukcing tragedy if he leaves. I don't get why people are so indifferent towards him. -
Nice lines.........

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
faultydet replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
I badly want him to stay. He is going to be a star of the comp, and I want that to be with us. Don't let a few ordinary games blind you to his awesome talent. On a side issue, what's with people needing to be with their mummy? God damn there are some soft cokcs around. Ever heard of skype, and QANTAS? -
That's why I said what I said. I imagine it would still give a benefit while training also, particularly when weight training is involved, even though its a crazy argument to say that's why people take it, and that's certainly not what I'm claiming at all. It is also the P.R angle. It all leads back to money. Bad P.R, pressure on the Sponsors etc = Money. But they don't care if the players are users, as has been proven by their attempted cover up's. The anti drug stance is just an illusion.
-
Not sure who pushed for it, but I'm in favour of it anyway. illicit drugs? Iv'e worked with people who used to be big speed, and E users. A couple of them used to brag about the damage they did kicking the bejeeseus out of some poor [censored] while spinning from drugs. The word both used was "invincible" Sounds like their "performance" was enhanced to me. I say it again, I'm strongly in favour of drug testing for AFL players.
-
Its quite simple. Whatever job you are in, it is not deemed worthy of press coverage. It's not illegal to report it, and it sells papers, so why wouldn't they report it? I'm in the mines, so I do a alcohol test every morning, and random drug tests whenever my number comes up. I know the consequences, so I am careful with what I do. The football players have the same responsibility as I do. Get caught, get in trouble.
-
When you see someones life ruined by it, you tend to take a harsh view. Also, it's in the rules of the game. Do it, get caught, risk punishment/suspension. That's certainly why I would give a [censored]
