The first week of the VFL finals co-incides with AFL Round 22 so presumably Sandy will be limited to any 12 MFC listed players available (assuming there are 12 and they are selected to play). If Clint Bizzell plays tomorrow he will be qualified. Holland needs one more game and the rest can't make it (assuming the magic number is 7).
  3. Don't be surprised if he's rested for the remainder of the season to get it right.

  5. If he was on Essendon's rookie list then Sheedy would have already had a good look at him and decided to press the reject button. Therefore, if Sheeds becomes coach, Summers chances of being drafted by us won't be all that flash.
  6. John Ralph has obviously been reading WJ's match preview and his comments about the suitable fit Sheedy presents to the MFC at this time in its history. I agree however, that you simply can't announce an appointment of Sheedy in particular while his team's season hangs in the balance. Perhaps things might be helped along if the Hawks return to form today and give Essendon a hammering and then the Blues continue their improving trend with a win next week?
  7. You can check out the players on You Tube:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLvfLXjVJkU
  8. He's recovering from hi operation and on the mend!!! PETTERD FINE AFTER SURGERY
  9. According to The Australian, Cameron Bruce will miss again tonight:- "A severely depleted Melbourne is tonight expected to lose another key player, with Cameron Bruce a likely late withdrawal, when the Demons host Brisbane at the Gabba. Bruce is still feeling the effects of hamstring soreness that forced him out of last weekend's win over Carlton. He could be replaced by Tasmanian teenager Colin Garland, who made his debut in round five against Sydney, but has not played since. The Demons will miss up to 12 of their best players tonight, with captain David Neitz scheduled to return from finger and knee injuries in round 16 against the Kangaroos." http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...5012432,00.html
  10. Riley said Byron would play VFL, there's no match up for Benny and Bucks has had an article written about him in the paper. That suggests to me that the bench will be:- (1) PJ - back up ruckman, (2) Juice - key forward (3) Bucks - medium/midfielder (4) Dunn or Frawley depending on whether n extr forward or a defender is needed. With no Fevol in the Carlton team we might take the attacking option o I'll go for Dunn.
  11. RATTEN KEEN ON DEMONS JOB Will he firm with the bookies? What does GARRY LYON think of him?
  12. BUCKLEY APPLIES FLOWER POWER Must be a good chance he'll play with this publicity!
  13. Mike Sheahan is suggesting that a TRADE MAY BE FEVOLA'S BEST OPTION. Fevola might have been too radical a player for Neale Daniher who always coached on the conservative side IMO but he might appeal to a new coach willing to take some risks with his list.
  14. And then there were seven ... Simon Buckley prepare to come on down!
  15. # 3 for Victoria today could be # 3 for Melbourne in 2008.

  17. Who are the Lucksmiths for the uninitiated?
  18. Not very promising though from an MFC point of view. I accept that this report was from a Sandy person (where was Barry) but it seems they won the game on the strength of the Sautners, Valentis and Crowes. If there's a shakeup and Bizzell gets in, that might be fine but he's past 30. There was no mention of Buckley and very little about Juice except in the goalkickers for 1 goal. Ricky Petterd sounds like the only ray of hope.
  19. According to a poster on 'ology it was stated on the 7 news.
  20. We get a mention in today's Hun in the Pulse section from Steve Perkin. "You've got to love the passion of football fans, particularly they can turn on their club when things are only slightly off the rails" "Melbourne's unofficial website is called Demonland. Take a look at some of the forum topics being discussed by those online." He goes on to highlight some of the doozies like "We need a cleanout." and Daniher talks the talk. Time to walk the walk," and then hits on the thread about selecting Nick Sautner when he's not even a Melbourne listed player. Steve mate - well done for picking up our talent here at Demonland but you have to understand that we're always thinking outside the square here. Just look at WJ's sausage roll story. You don't get anything like that in the Hun do you?
  21. I think you mean masochist, don't you? The sadists support the Eagles!
