  1. I reckon Col is gonna have a great 3 years ahead of him, getting back to his best, having a lot more fun & excitement than the last 8 years combined. Love how Jesse acknowledged his spoil in the highlight package. He was better in 2015, now he needs to play with 2013 confidence again.
  2. I'm glad our footy dep agree with me on Garland. I think he might get back to his best for a few years before he retires.
  3. Wrapt to be keeping him involved with us!!
  4. Your point?
  5. Dude, look who your arguing with!!! Granted I've made the mistake a few times also.......
  6. You haven't put this imbecile on ignore yet?
  7. BS Adam, same circumstances as Judd or Boyd leaving before free agency, they would still get a 1st round pick next year, so stop trying to valid your stupid wrong point in first place that they'd lose him for nothing.
  8. Yes..... Stupid me. Pick 6 & Howe would likely be enough, of course they'd want more but if they are convinced he'll look to leave regardless next year it's as reasonable a trade offer as they are likely to get IMO.
  9. No they don't, he's no free agent at all next year, simply out of contract, so if he wants to leave them it'll most likely be a trade.
  10. Hogan already is our biggest fish, and no I'm not expecting pick 6 or 25 to be a big fish for at least a year or 2. Further, I want finals & you usually need several 'gun' players, not one or 2, and all those you mention are still kids. We obviously have cap space to be doing this so why wouldn't we be trying to recruit & fast track our teams development by getting into finals? Recruiting blokes like Parker would certainly help us do that. As much as I'm excited about Petracca, he hasn't even gotten on the park yet ffs, and not all of us are as in love with draft picks & underage players as you are.
  11. Then stop reading it & just wait for the real announcements.
  12. Prestia has not knocked us back forever, all he has said is he will complete his current contract which expires next year. He has no intentions of extending his contract at the Suns in the interim either, so he's clearly a player waiting to see what happens over the next 12 months. And I know for a fact he faces a lot of family pressure to come home. Yes his family are big time Melbourne supporters but I reckon they just want him living close by regardless of which club after this year's drug headlines up there. That is why speculation on Prestia has not died down. In fact, I G'tee the Suns lose either 1 or both of Prestia & O'Meara next year unless they have a truly stupendous turnaround this year, and even then I reckon those 2 boys are as good as gone anyway. And as we've seen with Danger, Buddy, Scully etc, these deals are often organized 12 months in advance..... Plus there's the reports of Clayton & Viney catching up a few times which only adds to the intrigue (although most assumed at the time it was regarding Howe). I'm glad we are being so active & hope like hell we can land one or 2 this year & next.
  13. Isn't Toumpas the name being associated with this trade, not Howe? The Toump showed a few glimpses this year, but in arguably his best game yet for us his direct opponent was BOG & kicked the winning goal with seconds left....... Looks like Milkshake will get his role moving forward & we're looking to give him a fresh start back home & will pick up a depth player at best for him. Not surprising really, the kid has really struggled to acclimatize to Melbourne city & the AFL thus far. If this trade does go down, fair to say MFC have cut their losses here and pick 4 was a bust for us? I think it does. Really can't see him cracking into Ports midfield given Newton couldn't.
  14. If he's more defensive orientated (and we have mids like Vince, Viney & even N Jones who can do a job but still hurt teams going the other way) then Bugg sounds like a potential understudy to Jetta as a lock down small who may be able to release Salem further up the ground in the interim. I like the sound of that very much. I've been thinking we needed to shore up the back half smalls, especially with White still on the Rookie List next year. When Jetta & Salem were injured we struggled with small forwards this year IMO. Of course midfield is still priority number one with a bullet, but as stated elsewhere, we can't be complacent & need more/better everything. He can pinch hit in the midfield too & what I've liked about this bloke when I've seen him is his mongrel, we could use several more dollops of that all over the ground too! To those who say melksham is better, I've seen plenty of him over the years & am not a fan. Whilst I haven't seen much of Bugg, they are clearly very different players, melksham has played predominately forward of centre as a mid. Very hard to compare players in different positions/roles & stages of their careers. But as I said in the melksham thread, I'll trust our current mob to make the call on either of them.
  15. Would he release Salem in the back half, or is he more of a shut down stopper? I like the look of him from limited viewings.
  16. People like you are talking about it here, so looks like some might be interested.
  17. Glad we locked up our Pedo for 2016! Jokes aside, deserved IMO.
  18. I hope we land this bloke, I think he might be a good pickup.
  19. This is a bloke I really hope we land!!
  20. How was his disposal last night? Cause you'd probably want more than a few spoils for his $$ no? Plenty of Hawks supporters I know are still underwhelmed regardless of last night.
  21. The AFL know what players are on too & many media figures come from AFL leaks, so we'll likely get an idea eventually, especially if considered obscene &/or he is a bust for us.
  22. Commentators say Frawley was brilliant on Tex! Ha!! Group think spilling over into Demonland, what's new..... I wonder how many commentators are drinking mates with Tex & how many are friends with Frawley's uncle, all part of the industry commentators boys club if you ask me. The Crows were a shadow of themselves last night, Frawley was barely challenged all night cause Tex couldn't get near it up forward. Clako is 100% correct in giving credit to team defense rather than Frawley. I would go so far as to point out that Dunn has won more 1on1 contests and lost much less than Frawley as a defender over the past few years & is much much better with the ball in hand than Frawley has ever been in his career including his AA season........ That is why Frawley was played forward in his last year rather than Dunn or Garland, I g'tee Roosy rates them above Frawley as defenders & he knows how important it is to have good users of the ball coming out of defense (hence Grimes' struggles under Roos, Salem moving to HB, recruitment of H, letting Frawley walk etc etc).
  23. I reckon they'll be suspended. WADA don't give fines, they only give suspensions. This is not the AFL where they have BS hearings only to find that someone is not guilty but still gets fined!! Under this new appeal the burden is on EFC to prove they did nothing wrong, where as the previous case had to be proved they did take the banned substances. The only reason they got off before was a lack of governance & records. Well that defense cannot work now on the WADA appeal. I feel like the whole media & footy world have decided if the pretend like nothing will really happen to the players it will become reality, however ASADA & WADA are clearly adamant something illegal went down & that the AFL hearing was a farce. Now it'll get tried under very different circumstances.
  24. If he retires we should apply for compensation. Dom Barry, Trengove being out last 2 years, Clark, we still have more of a case then either the [censored] blues or lions!! Pathetic if true, makes Watts look like Hercules by comparison given what he's 'endured'.... Pressure wise.
  25. As I said about 10 pages back, this won't happen because bombers are ridiculous. They accepted the Ryder trade because Patty was ready to sue them as he still believes his sick child is the result of those injections!!! Fact! Imagine that story coming out in all its glory!! Lol Melksham is worth no more than a 3rd round at best, otherwise PSD, as others here have said, no one else looks like remotely touching him for 4 years & $1.6m so he should make it to us easily!!
