Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off
thevil1 replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
We've been paying this bloke very good $$ (along with numerous others) whilst underperforming, injury excuses/reasons or not. We have been loyal, now we see a way to better ourselves, so too bad. I rate Roos, PJ, Viney, Mahoney & Taylor's thoughts on this above Trenners or anyone here for that matter. Btw, Roos came for $$..... So did Clark..... Ablett Jnr & Buddy?!? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but just give me much more than 4 wins next year please!!!!! I don't care who we have to trade to make OUR team successful again!! -
Sorry, my post wasn't very clear, I don't want Ryder anyway, just went off on a tangent.

Who said we are treating him like crap? Could be done like this: "Look, trenners, we have a massive deal in the works to improve the clubs list but the only player they are interested in is you to get us what we need to do the deal. They are offering you big bucks & security of a 3 year contract which at this stage given your injury concerns & given what we've already invested in you, we are not willing to match at this time. Are you interested in having a look?" The rest is up to trenners, he can't & won't go unless he wants to & if he, having been witness to all the crap this club is coming out from can't see why we'd entertain such a trade then he is not as bright as I believe him to be. He may be disappointed, but he still has his own destiny in his hands. -

Couldn't agree more, and by acknowledging this on Friday arvo as a club we give the rest of the clubs notice & the weekend to think about it, that we are willing to look seriously into anything, thus if they want a trade let the bidding begin! -

He is 24, not even at the peak of his powers yet! I say in the next 3/4 years he could be top 5 in the league. Better than anything we've had in a while...... Jonesy has shown you can ge better & better every year, Harvey & Goodes hit their primes pushing 30!! -

Who knows, we land HL & Beams to go with Dawes & we might have Steele & Pendles knocking on our door by 2016! ;-p

Exactly! This is about 'stuff you Buckley' & getting the biggest pay day possible. If it meant he could play with his brother in sunny brissy, all the better. I reckon Buckley is just pizzed he never won a premiership & he doesn't value the premiership players still at the Pies, he mismanaged soo many senior players now it's not funny, the noises started with Jolly no?

Ha! Swan!! When was that, 2012? Oh no, wait, that was the year Beams won the Copeland..... Steele gets off the chain thanks to Beams & Pendles, the captain, being a top 3 in afl player, is the only player at the pies who can impact a game more than Beams, not even Cloke can or does. -

Throw in watts, scully, scully's compo (hogan etc)....... Yep, Beams has almost more accomplishments as a player than our whole list for the last 10 years ffs!! -

People on here over rating melbourne players cause they're nice guys need to have a good look in the mirror before knocking Essendon, pies and any other supporters for their over inflated values placed on their players!! -

Then your alone..... Harry Collier Trophy 2009 2009 AFL Rising Star nominee Rd 17 Collingwood premiership player 2010 All-Australian Team 2012 3AW AFL Player of the Year 2012 Copeland Trophy 2012 Has finished top 5 at the brownlow, played exceptionally in big games & finals, has led the league in various stats over the years....... Yeah, he's done more than Mitch Clark, Frawley & Trengove combined by the age of 24!!! -

Beams has had a far greater impact on his teams results then trenners & Frawley combined. Plus we may get a pick back for Frost. So Trenners, Frawley, Pick 23 for Beams & Frost? Your kidding if you think that's massive overs. I really really like Trenners, the bloke, & the player in his first 2 years. Atm he is faced with 1 year left on his contract at Melbourne, coming back from a big surgery and layoff with no g'tees of ever getting back to his form of 3 years ago let alone bettering it!!!! If the tiges offer him 3 years on big bucks despite this then good on him & the club for exploring it, which at this stage is all that is happening as far as we know. -
Plus he is threatening to retire should the bombers fail to get him to port this trade period. Doesn't sound like he'd entertain us now does it? People on other threads are worried about jumping into the Beams situation at the last hurdle & calling it Clark 2.0, however I see jumping into the Ryder discussions as much closer to Clark 2.0 than Beams. In a perfect world, players would be lining up to join the Dees like the Hawks, but as it stands we might need to hard sell a few people to initially join our revival. To be expected given where we're coming from imo, but when they are rolling in $$ playin for an up and coming Demons team they will be glad they came!!!
-
Who said the pies want him to go, when it first broke that HE requested the trade it sounded much more like they were spewing!! Given his dad lives in Gold Coast, not brissy, & he would only entertain brissy's offer of massive $$ & to play with his brother, plus hating Buckley, these were always clearly the main motivation for Beams, not his sick father (who gave him no structure or discipline in life apparently & is on the road to recovery with the cancer in remission). I reckon the fathers illness was a smoke screen for the colliwobbles to 'justify' why a gun who they clearly rate internally wanted to leave their 'club'...... Gee, it wouldn't be like Eddie to push a cover story in the media to protect his love child Buckley & beloved Pies hey?!?

And just sooo funny!!!! Hahahahahaha *sarcasm*

We'd be open to trading Jones in your opinion then? Hahahahahaha Oh, but not Dunn, Salem or Tyson......... So they have no currency in your opinion or they are more untouchable then Jones? Lol -

More athletic 'potential' types who entice recruiters to take them earlier, bottom agers seen as having more 'upside' and of course examples like Cockatoo who was injured all year but highly touted still...... To name a few potential reasons. -
Buddy Ablett Jnr Judd Yeah, superstars never go anywhere...... Unless they want to of course.
