I don't. Refer to his good mate Tyson's deal last year. Both highly rated juniors, neither yet dominating, they really want Petracca, we are apparently into Brayshaw & Lever who can be taken a little lower. It would effectively be Petracca pick up grade for them, Lever pick downgrade for us & Trengove & Pick 23 (or Pick 12/10) for Coniglio & Frost. I reckon if that's the way it's headed it's another Roos win-win special.

My opinion is the 3 you mention at 12 are all a couple of years off really contributing at afl level & Petracca is still a work in progress as a mid despite dominating as a junior, he's not as sure a thing or as pure a footballer as Brayshaw. But I'm no recruiter. Despite my smart ass reply above, appreciate you passing in what you've heard! Thnks

So there seems to be a bit of a consensus around Coniglio being the main carrot in our hidden target thread..... How would people feel about potentially turning picks 2 & 3 into Coniglio, Frost, Brayshaw & Lever (at say pick 4/5/6 or 7 depending on the Griff/Dogs scenario)? Could possibly involve Trenners, Pick 23 & other GWS currency too.....

Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off
thevil1 replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
And with an underwelming crop this year I can see why they'd still rate him highly despite not playing in 2014. Would we rate him higher than Brayshaw internally possibly? Cause I'm still hoping we land a few established sorts moreso than kids, despite thinking Brayshaw is the surest bet in the draft & whilst really liking the look (and sound) of Lever. I saw a report somewhere that said he was the most impressive interview at the combine and that we were the best interviewers at the combine...... Sounds like a good match ;-) -

Only if they agree to pay 95% of scully's contract, he'll only be depth for us, & they keep fat phil in Sydney on their salary cap!!!! LmaoIt'll be soo sweet when they start losing players not just cause they're home sick but because of his contract. Still plenty of time left on it for that to happen, especially if they nab griffen. -

I like Lever's 1 min @ 17 years old more than a number of other highly regarded kids this year, looks a natural to me!! -

I think it's still a huge difference, they hit the scoreboard much more, & probably tackle less cause they're chasing less as they are using it better. That said, with better players added in & around our group next year we could certainly surpass theirs. Add Trenners at his best to them, add HL, JG, a Brayshaw, Frost and midfield gun to our whole list & I'm bullish that we can conceivably win more games then them next year. -
My hidden trade guess is Picks 3 & 10/12 (in essence Trengove & Pick 23) for Coniglio, Greene & Frost. Win/win...... Saints take McCartin 1 (big mistake imo), us Brayshaw Pick 2, Petracca Pick 3 to GWS and they get back into the draft after trading & paying a very heavy price Griffen. I base this on absolutely nothing btw. And fwiw, I rate this years draft as particularly weak, the talls all grossly overrated, Moore & Heeney clear top 5'ers who aren't available where they are worth & from his 1 minute highlights package as 17 yo Calder 3rd place b&f I reckon Lever looks like a bigger Hodge potentially, really like his potential.

I'd like to know where it is said his dad is the ONLY reason for leaving the Pies pls??? Yes it is the only EXCUSE given by his manager & Eddie but if it were the only reason why would he have already walked out on the club, didn't go to the b&f? Especially while they are supposedly in talks to get him where he wants to go? Doesn't sound like a bloke who would otherwise be staying at the Lies, I mean Pies, now does it? If it was only about his dad & nothing else his manager wouldn't have ruled the Gold Coast out of discussions (where his dad lives btw) because they can't match the Brissy offer. -
A role player go can play 3 handy positions on the field as a genuinely mature recruit surrounded by superstars. Yeah, they have heaps in common hey?!? Like err....... Being delisted by 2 clubs and, err.......... We are not the Hawks, yet anyways!!

I'd like a late 3rd or 4th round pick thrown in somewhere for Frost (leaving our PSD position still open just in case someone else pops up and it is still a good threat to other teams in negotiations for this week too). But it seems pretty settled we're happy with just Lumumba for Clark. Also, reckon North will push to receive pick 21 rather than 25 for Levi as Geelong appear to be winning that trade big time (I rate Christensen but they've been shopping Varcoe for years for some reason & Christensen has gambling/off-field issues, although Clark is a risk too I suppose). -

The Buckley/Trenners comparisons were there before he was drafted your right, many people thought he was as good a junior as Bucks, but surely no one is still expecting that kind of return from him anymore including Crows. Lets not forget what other SA prospects came in between those 2 who were massively hyped SA products before being drafted, there's been many, such as Gibbs for a start, he was the greatest SA product ever according to his pre draft hype. Yeah they'll remember his junior years, but they'll be offering based on his current status, which according to Richmond is only worth an upgrade on picks from 23 to 12..... Adelaide's really only 2 spots better but its still better. And I'm with you, prefer he was a crow then a bloody tiger, yuck!! I still feel trenners has upside, but given his last 3 years how much better than his 2nd year can he get? Thankfully he still has currency & a few suitors, unlike several others we as fans would rather go first I'm guessing. -
Just on that WJ, out of the 3 OOC stars at the crows (Sloane, Danger & Tex) I believe Danger & Tex are the two able to leave under FA, albeit probably restricted. All 3 could get offers of $800k plus in today's environment of expanding salary caps & surely they can't afford them all without the players accepting taking less each to all stay. The one we don't talk about much here is Tex, yet after the Tippett saga at the crows, there was all this talk about Tex being the first crow to be locked up to a really long term big contract. But this never happened!!! Anyone got any 'whispers' as to why? It was over a year ago now they wanted to lock him up long term & if I was them I'd be just as worried about the situation as Danger. Here's one of several articles stating they were going to keep him off the market & he's obviously been knocking back extending for a long time now. http://m.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/adelaide-crows-move-to-lock-in-taylor-walker-to-a-long-term-contract/story-e6frf9jf-1226597643178

Yep, lotta Kent love on DL, he has shown several glimpses, really hope 2015 shows he can do it regularly/consistently, he has several attributes we could really use on the field if he puts it all together.

Anyone who brings up the Fact he was AA under 18 CHF, need I remind you of a Lucas Cook? Cause so was he. Under 18 AA doesn't mean as much when it comes to talls. One dimensional lead up forward and in a good team no more than a 3rd tall who can't pinch hit in the ruck, great set shot but injury prone. Unless he can turn himself into a Gunston type (but he's not as quick, not as good marking, not as good a gut runner) or a true FF he's really a Crameri type at best and a complete bust at worst.

What constitutes a no DH policy? To some of us here HL & Garlett fly in the face of that, both have had plenty of off field dramas and shenanigans in the past. Right now I reckon Roos will take better players wherever he can find them & back himself & his team to manage them being a DH or not. The no DH policy in Sydney saw them appoint one of the biggest DH's in the league IMO as joint captain at one stage (mr big bad baldy).... -

thevil1 replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
All I can find in all the articles re Beams requesting a trade is that Connors, his manager, has said he wants to be closer to his dad as has Eddie Mc.... Yeah, like a player manager won't say whatever it takes to get his client where he wants to be & Eddie doesn't want a reason for the members that doesn't place blame on Buckley! Ha!! He wants OUT of Collingwood (who doesn't these days), a big fat pay cheque & if possible to play with his brother. So to me, if Brissy can't get the deal done, then 2 out of 3 for Beams ain't bad. Latest article from Age has us involved in a deal that still lands him in Brissy however. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/new-name-emerges-in-dayne-beams-deal-as-trades-heat-up-20141011-114s3k.html -

Where has it continually been stated by Beams??? Pls do tell? Maybe one of the blokes who liked your post can provide some evidence also? -

No, I think pick 5 & 25 is unders for him too & the Pies have simply walked away. I think Pick 3 & 12 would be a win-win Roosy special for either of Danger or Beams. Beams at 24 years of age has shown as much & accomplished as much as very few before him. Judd went for pick 2 or 3 & Kennedy who was a top 5 pick also. Plus I DON'T RATE McCartin or Wight anywhere near as highly as others here, I actually think this is a weak draft & the most certain players for mine are Petracca, Brayshaw & Heeney! That's just my opinion & I really doubt the saints or whoever ends up with pick 1 won't take Petracca. Hence why the saints were happy to look at trading down. -

Ha! Obviously, we got HL & Garlett coming over with plenty of baggage ;-p What garbage that no DH thing is! Very subjective in the first place & who says what constitute one or doesn't? Someone may do a DH thing once but otherwise be an awesome bloke. And imo there were plenty of DH's in Sydney when Roos was there starting with big bad overrated bazza & ending in hannebery (at least I think they are DH's but I would be happy if we had players who had their talents playing for us regardless!)
