  1. Not likely, they have some $$ to splash apparently but they'd have to gut quite a few players to get into Danger $$ territory, which makes them a much less appealing destination anyway. Looks like they'll have there hands full retaining Tarrant now too.
  2. Can't Agee re YzeMagic, he was awesome entertainment value IMO....
  3. He played pretty well in the Geelong win, maybe the coaches have a similar role in mind for him this week on the HFF. Spewing about Vanders!!
  4. Well he is a forward. Funny how they tend to look better when the team plays better & gives them some opportunities hey?
  5. Reads the play exceptionally well, takes intercept marks & helps out defensively really well as a result. He has some close down speed & is a good spoiler. He is loose at times but is often given the sweeper role due to his other attributes and as such most sweeper style defenders do get caught out from time to time. He has been solid on gun midfielders who rest forward many times in his career. Defense is not Grimes big problem, it's what he does with the ball when he gets it that has been his issue. He tries to do too much, tries to be too cute & isn't anywhere near skilled enough or strong enough with his disposal. He doesn't provide enough with his forward thrusts out of defense either. I am by no means a Grimes fanboy but he does have some very good afl attributes and some very poor ones. I think this coaching group is well aware of his game & have been trying to help him fix it. He could still be a very valuable contributer, he has another year on his contract & he has eaten a lot of humble pie this year & has not dropped his head once but kept working on his game as the coaches have instructed. He shouldn't be a the whipping boy anymore & if he is named in our best 22 again it is because no one on the list is ready right now to replace him or the job he is currently doing. Most likely in this week based on Casey & our next opponent is Fitzy. Personally I am predicting no change unless someone is too sore next week. We looked stuffed towards the end of the 3rd qtr on the weekend but the way we finished them off in the 4th, I reckon our coaches will be looking to take that momentum straight into next week with as little change as possible.
  6. My pleasure fellas (link providing)...... Trying not to get too carried away (like I said our players did after each win so far this year), but that was the best MFC interview I'd heard for a long time. If you haven't yet please do listen to it, gives me much more hope than anything Roosy could say (not having a go at Roos, but it's really up to the players now imo given the resources & how this club is being run by PJ). http://m.3aw.com.au/news/game-day-collingwood-v-melbourne-at-the-mcg--3aw-radio-20150801-gipach.html

  8. I'm more sick of the media than Adam Goodes these days!!
  9. I've boo'd Goodes plenty of times over the years..... Dog acts like slamming taggers Dunn & Godfrey in the back with no penalties awarded by umpires, unlike what Roos said the other day I do think he has been a sook & stager on field for his whole career. He's also been well looked after by the umpires & AFL in that time also. That being said he's been a gun player & I would've loved him at the MFC all these years........ Couldn't give a [censored] about all this latest saga, I have no interest in booing him other than if he is a dog against one of our players on field again. But I do think a lot of the negative sentiment against Goodes at present is a snap back from many fans regarding political correctness which many people feel has gotten out of control & Goodes has become the poster child for it sadly. I don't think he asked for any of this & doesn't deserve any more being singled out. Maybe he is a bit too sensitive about it all, maybe I'm not sensitive enough about it, but surely everyone can give it a rest for a while & agree to disagree. If you can't at least give it a rest & leave the bloke alone at this point then the booing says more about you than Adam.
  10. Neither is Brayshaw, Watts & VDB who are all already rotated through there. Salem is no midgit either should he see minutes there. I'd say pace & talent/skill in our midfield would be more important than height right now.....
  11. Did anyone else just puke a little?
  12. Jesse's on $500k next year. Not bad for 21. Bet Dawes was nowhere near that at his age & if Jesse really plays his cards right he could very well see $1.5m+ish in a few years given the way contracts for key forwards is going. Man I hope he reaches his full potential at MFC!!
  13. His leads were garbage when he did lead
  14. The bears of old would smash us next week if we keep not putting in for 4 qtrs. As soon as we did it at Geelong & won out 4 games at the half way mark, our players are happy with their progress......
  15. The MFC players cannot handle a big win (referring to Geelong). 2 sub standard efforts since. Lloyd it said on radio after the game a Melbourne player told him that 5 weeks ago. Sounds like he had a reliable source.
  16. And yet he out muscled Rance who is better than both earlier in the year! He was rubbish, led to the wrong spots, poor pressure, poor second efforts. Yes he's still a kid, but he built his body up for 12 months last year on top of dominating men at VFL the year before. He needs to lift but so do plenty of others on today.
  17. No excuses here, players thought they had this game won yesterday & didn't turn up for 2 out of 4 qtrs. The Dons are garbage & today we fell short because of low intensity & Hogan playing crap (although he is a kid & the rest of team should've been able to kick straight & cover him). I reckon a few blokes only woke up in the 4th qtr!!! We found ways to lose this game. Tyson and several others need to lift, too few really working hard both ways in the middle & our youth (apart from Hogan) was solid if not spectacular. Dawes in the team was a mistake today imo, we could've used a Riley type to help win more clearance & take more advantage of Gawn's dominance.
  18. If both he & the club get their way this will be done. & before I get flamed, I heard that weeks ago from a Prestia, they didn't know for sure but they were confident he'll end up at his beloved demons somehow.
  19. Garland only goes if he decides to move on as a FA. He won't cost crazy $$ to keep & he's clearly rated as a required player by Roosy. Unlike Frawley we won't get overs or well compensated if he walks & I have it on good authority the club is confident he'll stay if we keep improving as other clubs pushing for finals are only offering small $ & a chance to play finals to him. If he won't break the bank & the club is confident he'll stay I see no benefit in the club pushing or moving him along. He's a long way off being lumped in with players of Riley, Michie, Bail's ilk, most clubs could find a place for Garland to do a job defensively each week. Anyone here who says otherwise is not being objective imo. His role every week is usually to shut down a bloke which he does very well, both tall, small & on dangerous resting midfielders. If Grimes or H could do it as well or better they'd already be getting those jobs ahead of Garland. Wow, never thought I'd be defending Garlo before, I'm not even a huge fan of his, but he does add value to the team imo..... Howe on the other hand.......
  20. Not really, just be little lighter on for [censored] around here. Now, my prediction, Watts to dominate the taps as 3rd man up & get bog while Gawn keeps NicNat busy in a headlock all game! Ha!!
  21. Plus the dud Neeld recruited from Geelong.....
  22. Newton alone has done just about as much as all 3 of those blokes Neeld recruited in a handful of games this year & he has only been going ok! These guys are a lot younger than Neeld's recruits & have a lot more upside to boot. Even if they don't make it they were better punts than what Neeld went for (which in fairness was mostly age based for experience but these guys had nothing left in the tank, unlike Cross who you also conveniently forgot about).
  23. Finals next year for sure, we can already beat the Geelongs, Tigers & Dogs, time to beat up on more teams we should be beating like the Saints, Blues, Dons, Suns, Lions, Port, GWS & Crows & what do you know we're sitting in 6th next year!! At least we can discuss the possibility now without the aid of mushrooms.
  24. Luckily Essendrugs are still playing & still have potential bannings to come......
