I like everything you've done here, but there is a major flaw to your plan..... if you think we'd be compensated for Garland leaving after landing Danger as a FA your dreaming!! The rest is optimistically plausible however, and looks bloody good on paper.

Best argument 'for' so far...... If we get him really cheap I might swallow this line. -
Yep, madness. Never in doubt, this kid will be a genuine star through sheer will!!

4 members of the Match Committee vote on our best & fairest. Still going after Garland hey? You have no idea. 24 years old ain't considered young in the afl btw. There's no more excuses after 114 games, soft & slow as a junior in a poor draft year, the exact 2 traits we already have in abundance!!!! -

That environment that Milkshake hasn't developed in is the same environment that Heppel & others have developed exceptionally well in. He's been around a lot longer than just this drug saga. -

4 years? And people think we'll pick him up cheap like Garlett!! Lol They'll want a 2nd rounder minimum purely based on us giving a former top 10 pick a 4 year offer!!! Really wish we had've kept Crossy for another year or 2 instead. He is an upgrade on Cross' 2015 form? I highly doubt it. And I thought Cross was moved on to give more time to youngsters, not a 24 year old who'll be 25 & in his 7th year next year, a veteran who is considered soft and a hack by the majority of Essendon fans (I'd say all their supporters but someone here knows one blind, I mean passionate, supporter that really really rates him apparently - they obviously don't post on Bomberblitz however). -

I would rather pump games into Harmes, ANB, Stretch & even the likes of Newton & Michie (who offer just as much as Milkshake on what is likely to be MUCH less coin)..... Yes we need midfielders but this is not about slight upgrades on M. Jones & Bail anymore, these blokes are on their way out either this year or next, why give Essendon anything for a bloke who hasn't shown enough in 6 years. I'm happy to trade Watts too & anyone comparing the 2 situations forget Watts is much taller, more athletic & will always be worth more than Milkshake based on potential alone, whether he realizes that potential or not. If we got him for a bargain than maybe, but when was the last time the Dons were easy to deal with? -
I didn't vote in that myself, but we as fans don't know what role/instructions players have been given on game day and fan voting vs coaches votes are often very different as a result.

I just can't see this happening. Partly cause I don't rate him but also cause he's not a FA, so gotta deal with the Dons who will probably start negotiations at pick 6 since he was a high pick himself with development (& injections)..... Even if they 'settle' for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, he's 4th rounder at best in a shallow draft imo, and if this is true geez I hope I'm wrong about this bloke. Yuck -
make room for Dangerfield, just to cap things off

More dopey logic!!! Cale Morton & Sylvia were top picks too once upon a time, surely some of that blatantly obviously talent is still there too hey?? Ha!!!!P.S. We beat Geelong without Hogan too, so what's your point again? So Milkshake wracked em up against an opponent who paid him no respect, so bloody what? -

Not fair on Grimes who is a billion times more courageous, & Grimes at least finds the footy enough to be called a turnover merchant, Milkshake barely touches it, a complete dud! I'm not worried, Goodwin would be in a the box seat to make this most obvious call...... No way! Cannot believe people here are using the argument that cause we are 'shallow' in the midfield he would be good for us. Replacing poo with poo is not an upgrade, I would rather pump games into our young core thank you very much!! Or even re-sign McKenzie, at least he can tackle! Lol -
He has at least 2 more years contracted DH, so no I doubt he'll be delisted end of next year. Club has clearly backed him with his last extension.

Actually, several of our selections over the years were surprises, players taken earlier than expected like Gysberts & Cook......

Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...

Hey, stop being so negative fellas...... Remember how under Daniher we had to get more ruthless? I reckon that squad would spank the current crop! Go ahead & prove us wrong this week against Freo boys!! -

What [censored] me off was Roosy saying he 'lives' his job but people like lawyers & doctors etc who write him emails go to work 9-5 and can switch off when their day at work is done....... Are you that out of touch Roosy? You just named 2 of the most stressful professions out there & my lawyer father has been working mostly 7 days a week for 40 years!! Going to the footy is one of the few things we do to have a break from our daily grind (which often gives me sleepless nights too buddy) & all we've been served up as 20+ years of loyal membership is a half assed performance like the last 2 weeks & then for you to put it on us for being negative!! How bout giving me a [censored] reason to be positive?!? I've been one of Roosy's biggest fans around here, & maybe we are a bit of a negative bunch. But so are many tiger fans I know & I've never heard Dimma complain!!! Your paid $1m+ to coach footy mate, not save people's lives like doctors do. Most jobs engulf people's lives, that's why footy often means so much to people, it's there chance to forget their stress (unless they follow the mfc). -
Did I miss a rumor linking Tomlinson to us or does he just have a number of fans here? Not saying he wouldn't be a good pickup, but just noticed his name has come up a bit here lately.

Don't agree, they've been 2 players on their list down all year, will pay these guys another year's rookie list wage & not have access to those 2 spots next year, with all that $, time & effort they've put into these guys likely a write off long term. Their brand has also suffered. And they are trying to support 2 young men who made a mistake so they don't look like they are mercenary with their players welfare. I hate the pies but they haven't done well out of this by any stretch of the imagination, but they've managed it well especially compared to essendrug!
-
Cokingwood doing everything they can to show support for the 2 young men, it's all for PR & they only lose 2 rookie spots for 1 year, not a great scenario for them but not the worst. Highly doubt either player will make it to a senior list in 2017 but good luck to them, hope they get their lives back on track. Illicit drug policy of 3 strikes helped this scenario happen IMO. Coke gets cut with many various other substances & these guys probably thought it was worth the risk since they get 2 strikes before anything 'serious' happens and they probably didn't think 'performance enhancers' would be used in such a way. I hope this is a lesson to all young players!
