Wish he'd completed that mark in the goal square against Collingwood some years ago that would have won the game.

To be honest, some light relief
Spirit of '87 replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
"They're a quality side, we have a lot of respect for them, we knew they'd come back at us" Any condescending top side player during a post match on field interview, after yet another win. -
Brett Ratten's son killed in car crash.
Spirit of '87 replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
Very sad news. He became a somewhat troubled boy, I believe. Featured unnamed on TV last year for all the wrong reasons. Freakishly talented sports wise according to some, such a waste of a young talented life. -
Can we show the title as re-sign or re sign please? That heading had me worried about an imminent resignation.

hardtack, on 25 Jul 2015 - 9:49 PM, said: Essendon's supporter base must be fast giving up on them... 23,000 is the lowest crowd they have ever attracted to the MCG (by approx 3,000). If they still drew 23,000 to the MCG while they were playing at Etihad, their supporter base must still be alright.

Doc Larkins says season over for Frawley - likely to be a 3 months+ injury requiring surgery. -
Communicating time left to players

Wouldn't make any difference knowing the time, they'd still find a way to balls it up. -
THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS
Spirit of '87 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I admire your consistent opinion throughout that they will get off, but to keep claiming at this stage that so far you have been right or so far you have not been wrong, is like predicting who will win the game on Monday, then at half time saying that so far you have not been proven wrong - you need to wait for the final 'siren' and outcome before claiming to have been right all along. -
THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS

I'd say that you have Old Dee. When the AFL tribunal let the players off, causing a reaction of uproar on this thread, you said "oh drop it guys, the cheats have won". But they haven't won, at least not yet, thanks to the appeal and escalation to CAS. You've also maintained all along that they would either get off or get a wet tram ticket. They might yet get off, but if it does go against them, we've gone well past the stage of a wet tram ticket penalty, now that it's with CAS. I think you're going a bit early with your claims of having been right so far, when we are months away from a real outcome. -
Case closed, please close thread

I believe the clubs have already knocked that idea on the head and it's back to the drawing board.

THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS
Spirit of '87 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wonder whether the HS have deliberately listed the 34 names temporarily released by CAS, when other media have to date refrained, to make a point of CAS's apparent breach of guidelines? Helps EFC and sympathisers undermine CAS processes and case? -

Can I post the 34 names temporarily released by CAS or will I have an EFC black hawk hovering over my home, with James Hird and Paul Little abseiling in through my window? -
Chris Scott claimed not to be aware of Clark being emotional post game, yet Ch7 just showed Clark crying as he came down the race with Chris Scott putting his arm around Clark and consoling him. Good of Chris Scott to then tell us all that he knows nothing about it!
-
Noticed that Mitch Clark wasn't at the post match singing of the club's song with his teammates. Then Chris Scott was asked in his press conference about "an emotional Mich Clark" in the rooms and what the situation there was. Chris Scott claimed to not be aware of it.

Mitch Clark out with a foot injury ...
Spirit of '87 replied to jumbo returns's topic in Melbourne Demons
Geelong Cats General Manager of Football Steve Hocking said the club was being ultra precautionary with Stanley and Clark. "Mitch is a player we view as a long term player for the club so after his foot pulled up sore following the Kangaroos game we decided to not take the risk in the short-term." Hocking said. -
Who would have thought that after four rounds, only percentage would separate Hawthorn and Melbourne? Both two and two.

I see that they're showing it in ad breaks on Fox Sport already.
-
Yes I guess that explains it, and Michael Warner no less... "The maximum two-year ban will not be imposed because of the unique circumstances surrounding the two year investigation"
-
On what basis does the Herald Sun's report today of the 31st March outcome state that the maximum penalty of two years cannot be applied due to the unique nature of the 2 year investigation? What are they basing that on? I don't see why being "unique" rules out potential 2 year maximum bans.

Breaking our 10 game losing streak v St Kilda?
Spirit of '87 replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't think it's amazing, as you put it, that they haven't beaten St Kilda since 2006. As you said, Melbourne has been terrible during the period, but the Saints were very good after 2006 and played in two grand finals. It's more the inability to beat them in the last couple of years, since they've been dragged down to our level, that has been disappointing. -
No good asking Ross Lyon that - he doesn't know who he is either.

According to Chris Scott on Nine News tonight: "All the indications are that round one's a pretty good target for Mitch"
