I needed to bathe in someone else's misfortune so I had a look at Saint's Bigfooty.

    Had to share this gem.

"My [censored] has put up a better fight against a colonoscopy prep than this s**t club did tonight."

Oh, how I wish I didn't understand that!!!

I find it ironic Joel Selwood would give advice on how not to draw a high free kick like its something he never did.

A bit like Leigh Matthews carping on about not hitting people behind play!

How can a club extend a players contract if he was under an extensive concussion measurement program?

Murphy had 1 year to run extend out to 3 years. Knowing he wouldn't play again would love to know what sort of a pay rise they gave him to strengthen their bargaining power for a comp pick.

Very negligent of Collingwood and the AFL for allowing this to happen effectively ticking off on it to futher their case for compensation.

Very suspicious activity allowed to happen and the AFL and turned a blind eye to it all.

Not really, it is nothing but good form from them. Exactly the same as when we extended Jake Melksham to recover from his knee.

I hate Collingwood, but kudos to them for this. Looking after their people.

I find this sort of reaction to our losses funny. Each time it's "we've been worked out", "this is the blueprint". Most of the time the result was brought about by something different anyway. We haven't been beaten this badly in the middle in 5+ years.

At any rate, the idea that smashing us in the middle puts you in a good place to beat us is hardly earth-shattering, is it?

It's almost akin to saying "the blueprint to beating Melbourne is to play really well".

The thing that concerned me with this game from a tactical point of view is that Brisbane rushed up to shut down any efforts to release out the front of the stoppage. Combined with the usual tactic of bring manic pressure at the contected ball against us, it seemed to shut down our ability to release a bit of of pressure from the skirmish. They were set, had a plan and came to play. We didn't catch on that our 1 wood had been stolen.

    Fun Fact:

When Kolytn Tholstrup was seven years old, Ben Cousins was arrested at Esperance Airport and found to have meth stashed up his Maynard.

Definitely should ask Tholstrup about it next time he joins the podcast.

Little Goffy, that Maynard is an excellent use of a proper noun!

If you can provide a list of players in the rehab group you will have earned the title of um Demonland Trackwatcher.

DL, maybe you could instigate an Um award for something. Trackwatcher of the month may be a good use?

Or post of the week, or faux pas post of the week?

The Ummies have a good ring to it... (unnecessary use of elipsis for effect)

Ummmm, being a proper noun it should be! 😀

Maybe he doesn't identify as a proper noun.

Billings is worth persevering with. He’s coming off two years plagued with injury-setbacks, and is finding his feet at a new club. He was never going to play his best footy in the first few weeks.

(Oh and, my phone seems pretty determined to spell his name as “Billing’s”, so I can understand the errors)

Sorry Mel, I read your post as a question. Fully agree with you.

At this point, I think he is worth persisting with. If he keeps missing tackles in subsequent games then the conversation changes.

Too greedy to ask for a Suns win today?

They received a lot of hype after their first 2 games, but in reality they were against mediocre opponents at home and they probably would’ve won them under Dew regardless.

Big test for them today after a failure at Ballarat.

Quite right. They used to start seasons well under Dew as well.

He shouldn't have played then. We probably wouldn't have beat Port if he didn't dominate the last 1/4.

Gawn went in to round 0 crook, Oliver playing with 1 hand and May is playing with cracked ribs.

We look good but is it sustainable? Our best players are playing when they shouldn't.

Maybe he was OK to play but expected improvements haven't come. Now have a chance to give him an extended break without missing multiple weeks.

I'm only guessing, and have no ownership of the issue at all. Just thinking less linearly than you.

I heard a funny story about when Scott was appointed.

He was meeting one of the coterie groups and the head of the coterie asked for Scott's mobile number.

    Scott said "what for?"

And the coterie guy said "oh i always have the coach's mobile number"

"Not this f**ing coach you don't" came the reply

    Coterie man was shocked 😲

The coterie groups have always had way too much power at bomberland

The club is hamstrung by their glory days,  powerful supporters and an inbred mentality

    Long may it continue

    That's not really on Jnrmac.

You have made me like Scott for something!

It's funny i have cracked my ribs and broken a finger that required surgery playing footy.

I can assure everyone the cracked ribs inhibit you alot more. Unless Oliver has done more damage i doubt he would miss. He is obviously struggling with the hand but why rest him now after playing a couple of games?

I'm amazed May is playing that is alot worse

Maybe his hand isn't getting better through incidental impacts in matches so needs to rest it so it can heal. Resting one week now effectively gives him a 3 weekish window.

    How come harmes isn't playing?

Played reserves last week against Casey following his suspension. Dogs probably annoyed with his discipline and making him earn a recall.
