They're working on it Demon A http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-11/dees-keen-to-keep-jones

You'd like to think that Clark and/or his connections would get on the front-foot pronto to clarify the situation. The way the media reporting currently reads it portrays him as lower then a snakes belly. Let's hope perception is not reality.

I recall David Neitz (heavily pro-Talia) going pale and shaking his head when Gysbert's name was read out.

This is true, skiing in Japan is now all the rage and when the worm turns (MFC becomes watchable) it's going to be a fantastic boost for late-season crowd attendances.

That's a magic idea nutbean. It's not just thinking outside the box...it's thinking outside the corporate box!!! This could catch on.

Pick 88?

And to think rfpc that we criticise our own players for not taking the first, clear correct option.

This video pretty much sums up my off-season list management expectations:

Timely reminder message for one of MFC's silver partner sponsors: http://www.tyrrells.com.au (I have no commercial relationship and/or interest beyond my compassion for humanity)

And if it transpires that GWS, GCS are at the top for awhile, and combined with prolonged strong club - weak club mismatches, who will care and who will tune in? What will that do to ratings and the ability to leverage TV rights going forward? Personally I believe that crowds attending the game are the real lifeblood of the sport and a key indicator of passion and interest, and I think the AFL have a problem brewing. It would be easy to dismiss my perspective as that of a jaundiced Melbourne member, and so to try and bring some objectivity to it, Iet's look at the crowds of the home games of a 'power club' in contention for a finals berth - Collingwood. How passionate were their members about turning up for home games? The stats are real food-for-thought: Collingwood membership base: 79,579 members: V BULL 28,339 = 35.6% membership base* (*not taking into account that a proportion of the crowd will be opposition supporters) V CAR 40,936 = 51.4% membership base* V ADE 41,482 = 52.1% membership base* V POR 32,804 = 41.2% membership base* V BRI 32,926 = 41.4% membership base*

Great thread this: deserves it's own theme song.

Not commenting on the plan but horrified if that's a genuine leak from inside the club.

Dear Gillon and that other bloke you hang around with (Ewans, or something like that), Last year I told your predecessor that we were stuffed. He didn't agree, but to be fair on him he was on a lot of junkets at the time and it's hard for us blokes to multi-task and/or think abut problems that are so so far away. He said we had Paul Roos now so therefore we weren't stuffed. But now Paul himself has come out publicly and said we're stuffed. Further to that, Joey-Boy from Demonland has come out and declared that we're stuffed - actually verbatim it was "we are stuffed" because all Joey-boy communiques are delivered in 3-words. Redleg also says we're stuffed. So that (including myself) brings the four-horsemen together - to prevent the apocalypse happening could we please have a fireside chat post haste about how you can help contribute to our un-stuffing" Warm regards Peter

Dead right. In the mid 60's the game started going professional - we we're caught napping and suffered for decades. Now the new expansion club's have come in it's changed the game again. Right now we need every bit of assistance we can get and pronto. To do otherwise would be amateurish and potentially terminal.

Footscray v Casey Scorpions (Jesse Hogan returns)

How's it all going at Craigeburn? -
I will have to move on then, illuminated by the hijacking of Tonatopai's Demonland account, and compounded by a Rachel Weisz impostor recently trying to become my 'friend' on Facebook, that the 21st Century is a time of digital disappointment.
-
Dammit Redleg, can't even trust the Interweb anymore!!!
-
Is this the right thread to protest the shutting down of Tonatopia's poetic input to Demonland. It may not have been everyone's cup-of-tea but did it deserve the "Vogon poetry" treatment?

Who are they predicting will be available around pick 12 to 13 ?

Players to target at the end of the year

As I recall, Hitler and Stalin also had a pact. (and yes Big O, I am interpreting your comment as tongue-in-cheek) -
Thanks, enjoyed that. Think the idea's worth exploring.

Half backs: someone like a Malceski (for now) to allow Stretch time to develop Mids: Shiel + 1 Rucks: Back up for Jamar & Gawn (because I care) - maybe trading with the likes of Hawthorn who seem to have a surplus of them.
