Karma on a couple of levels at least; how Essendon have treated their players (Hal Hunter in particular) and other clubs at the trade table. Would be great to pick these two up as DFA.

Agree that this happens too often.

Hits a cord with me. At the AFL level it strikes me as insincere and populist. However at the grassroots level the example set by local coaches can be profound. Decades later i still hold my junior footy coach (who is currently a Strathbogie shire councillor) as being a great role model as to how you approach life and treat people.

It's a cold wet day so for some extra sunshine Redleg you were also pumping up Billy Stretch's credentials; fair to say that's 3 out of 3. The emergence of Hunt and Stretch has been particularly important in light of the decision to draft Oliver over Parish (both good draft choices) as it increased the relative importance of our current stock of outside runners stepping up.

An intriguing player to watch. Often looks like he's just executed a 'hospital handpass' but they frequently arrive to a teammate in space.

Looks like Jane, plays like Tarzan.

Melkshem and Hurley would be great injections for next year's backline. Sound inclusions, lamentable terminology.

Thanks again from all the game updates from people there.

Playing dry weather footy in the first half was costly. Very enthused by Jayden Hunt's game.

Oops my bad, used to be 9 when I was a boy (back in 1892).

Yet to be convinced that basketball is a good comparison. 7 on court v 18 on field, 12 on roster v 22. Adding one gun player to a basketball team makes a much bigger difference than it does to an AFL team. Other posters have made this point on demonland before and I think it's a good one to take on board.

Nullify, the first centre bounce to create a second stoppage. Then the opposition ruckman jumps early to negate Gawn; their third man up punches it clear - sideways towards their Wingman who then clears to their free man wide on the half-forward flank who pinpoints a pass to the free player alone in the centre of 'the diamond'. Not yet sold on this Diamond set-up. Think the top-sides will rip it apart (my apologies for this veil of negativity).

Quite possibly the dominant KPD over the coming decade. The bluebaggers would want an arm and a leg for him though.

MFC 2016 Membership - Record Broken. Next stop: 40,000

Good to hear. Reason for asking is that over the past week I've been really impressed by the effort and assistance provided by the membership services people. -

When did you pay for your membership Biff? -
Not a bad debut, all things considered - did see some very deft skills displayed. The speed of the game must be very hard to adapt to and can surprise even the classiest of newcomers; Cripps averaged just 9 disposals per game in the 3 matches he played in 2014.
