  1. Apart from Melksham, and despite not having a first Round pick (and apparently committing our second pick for Hibberd), I think that Jason Tayloris going to rock the AFL World again this trading period with a major coup out of left field!
  2. Even before watching the video on the Club website, I had a good feeling about Goodwin. Now I am even more convinced!?
  3. I was sitting one table away from Peter Jackson having coffee this morning and very tempted to move to the next table and eavesdrop however I suspected that I might have overheard something that shouldn't make this site. ?
  4. It would be a bonus if Trenners was in the mix after a full pre-season. He has been consistently one of the best for Casey this year. (And when drafted he was regarded on par with $cully who is proving to be one of the best at GW$)!
  5. He won't be that happy when we thump them!
  6. St Kilda might only be the start. I would like to see the activity on this thread immediately after the upcoming trading period. The obscene amount of early draft picks (entirely at the expense of Melbourne and the other cellar-dwellers), combined with the Academy farce, will stand as a wonderful legacy of Demitriou (as the highest $aleried so-called executive in Australian $porting historry)!
  7. Now if only Jeff Garlett could emulate Eddie Betts, there would be no question about Hogan extending his contract.
  8. Be Nice if we see both Scorpions teams in the Grand Final! A fitting reward for both the Casey and Melbourne-listed players!
  9. This match will end up as close as last night. Right down to the wire!
  10. Maybe they'll draft Harvey to replace them? He's probably good for another 400 games!
  11. You listed five. Who was the success?
  12. Good start! Let's aim to double it by the end of the Trade Period and Triple it by the end of the NAB Challenge (which we should aim to win)!
  13. I bought my 2017 membership a month ago (as did many other MCC-MFC supporters)!
  14. I think that they are more than "in the mix". We will see what upsets there are for the rest of the round but, (with due respect to the Doggies and GWS), I am expecting one or both of them to play off in the Grand Final.
  15. Well I am now effectively out of the Finals Tipping Competition, having fallen at the first hurdle. Well done Doggies. Now we have to watch whether the Kangas also surprise (though I will be barracking against the Hawks tonight)!
  16. Oh now I understand. EFC (& maybe S.J.R.) shares your view that Essendon were poorly done by. I guess the fact that EFC considers that they have not been richly rewarded makes it false. How surprising that they would share your view!
  17. Yes! They should never have got those twelve top-up players! They could have fielded an AFL team each week with the 34 remaining! The Power, Saints, Dogs or us weren't provided with top-up players (and we weren't guilty of a drug culture)!
  18. Great thing for a player to say. There is no call for the "re-introduction" of "priority picks" and it will bite the AFL on the bum if they are foolish enough. Help Brisbane with luring a coach or send them up Kevin Sheedy!
  19. Quite frankly I don't subscribe to taking any sponsor that comes along. iSelect were recently featured in the paper in relation to questionable business practices and their television ads are so irritating that I chucked my tv out in the hard rubbish. Prefer to see our Women's Team attract sponsorship from AAMI, RACV or some other insurer without a dodgy reputation (though judging from feedback to my pre-edited post, the concept of reputable insurer appears to be an oxymoron)! http://www.smh.com.au/business/bupa-calls-for-iselect-to-face-tighter-regulation-20151208-gli6p3.html
  20. Still puzzled as to why Prestia has chosen the Tiges over us? ?
  21. Yes I am on the (600 strong) waiting list for the Long Room W&FS. I suspect that I will be in my eighties before I get in (however the tradition of asking 'waiting list members' to the annual Xmas Cocktail Party eases the pain).
  22. I am a full town MCC member on $661 per year plus a similar payment for a Guest Pass (formerly "Ladies Ticket") making it over $1300 per year plus I have taken out MFC membership for over twenty years. For that I get in free plus my guest for every AFL match, including all the Finals and I go to every Demons home game as I live 200 metres walk from the "G" (plus quite a few of the training sessions at Gosch's Paddock). Next year I will pay only $15pa for my (50 year) Membership however I will still continue paying over $600 per annum for my Guest Pass. In 50 years of membership of the Melbourne Cricket Club I have never been to a cricket match at the MCG. NOTE: When I joined the Melbourne Cricket Club, one of their sporting sections was the "Melbourne Cricket Club Football Club" (before separating in 1980)! I can't believe people were allowed to join the MCC only to support another football club! As we have realigned in 2009, Membership of the MFC should now be compulsory for every MCC member (giving us the highest membership in the AFL)!
  23. Probably the same guys who wanted us to trade Watts at the same time last year!
  24. Which is how we 'traded' Fitzpatrick to Hawthorn!
  25. I wonder if Prestia is having second thoughts?
