  1. We need each of Watts, Petracca and Hogan to continue to keep playing the roles that they currently play into the future and Weideman to complete our forward arsenal when he is cherry ripe (which is increasingly close)! Watts is a superstar in his own right and is not keeping a seat warm for anyone!
  2. Or maybe a blue tooth & a red tooth?
  3. This 3,500 up on last year and 6,000 up on the previous year. The momentum is building.
  4. That's why it is Win-Win!
  5. Using the pick we swapped for Tyson (& Salem)! A Win-Win all around! (As was Petracca and Brayshaw using our Frawley compensation!)
  6. The Demonland Membership thread has us already the first week in March (so they have compensated for MFC's additional day)!
  7. 32,899 (& climbing)!
  8. I am not so sure that Frost won't be back against the Saints, nor that we won't see even further improvement in Joel Smith by the First Round. I am feeling much more confident in all sectors of the ground than last year.
  9. No real problems with your thinking but I would like to see Watts play the next game, alongside Hogan, Petracca and Weideman. All four are skilled and unselfish players who I believe will augment each other playing in the same team. Also looking forward to seeing Garlett playing alongside them in the season proper as his last game also saw some unselfish acts, focussed on the team, not unlike Weideman gifting goals to Hogan and Viney on Saturday that he could easily have slotted himself. p.s. Be nice to see Trenners get a run in the JLT series.
  10. You really must be joking or haven't watched many matches, as Watts kicking, smarts and goal sense are exceptional as are his goal assists, an area where Weideman showed yesterday he will be very valuable in our team structure. Although I didn't see the entire game, the two goal assists to Hogan and Viney in particular were very unselfish (and effective)!
  11. JLT Community Series: Round 2, Melbourne v Carlton 1. Jesse Hogan 2. Nathan Jones 3. Christian Salem 5. Christian Petracca 6. Jordan Lewis 7. Jack Viney 9. Jack Trengove 10. Angus Brayshaw 11. Max Gawn 13. Clayton Oilver 14. Michael Hibberd 15. Billy Stretch 18. Jake Melksham 20. Colin Garland 22. Aaron vandenBerg 23. Bernie Vince 24. Jay Kennedy-Harris 25. Tom McDonald 26. Sam Weideman 28. Oscar McDonald 29. Jayden Hunt 30. Alex Neal-Bullen 32. Tomas Bugg 33. Jake Spencer 37. Dion Johnstone 43. James Harmes 44. Joel Smith Let's hope that Trenners gets a run in the final pruning!
  12. Or at least every match where there are four points on offer!
  13. We are now 32,643, 360 up from last weekend, 3000 up,from last year and over 5000 up from 2015. We are tracking ok.
  14. The 32,279 was the number in the morning and wasn't updated all day so you may well be right!
  15. 32279 (up 150 since the weekend) so not quite smashing it yet despite our two wins over the Premiers and the family day! Let's just keep the momentum up and keep selling the message!
  16. Actually one win on Saturday was a 'practice match' against the remaining Premiers playing on their home ground but the other match (AFLWomans) was the main event, also played against last year's "Premiers" playing on their home ground (and we won both)!
  17. Another thing to take out of yesterday was the return of Garlett as a crumbling forward. His goal assists in the early game were very unselfish and he could just as easily slotted a few more himself rather than giving them off. I enjoy having him in the forward line and feel that we are much more formidable to play against than when we lack his creativity (unpredictability)! Interesting that so many AFL promotional articles discount our midfield and forward structure when in reality they will be our greatest strengths this year.
  18. Late posting but was very impressed with the efforts of Hogan, Salem, Brayshaw, Petracca and Oliver and it was nice to see Garlett back and his unselfish goal assists in the first quarter which gave us the momentum. We are a better team when he is 'on song'!
  19. Shame about Trenners and Johnstone. Would rather watch them than ANB for this first match.
  20. What time is the game expected to finish (as my gf is pressuring me to take her to a film at 7.00 and I have to allow time to walk home from the pub)?
  21. We beat the Bulldogs, Power and Saints last pre-season. Let's see in we can go through again undefeated, starting with the Bulldogs this afternoon!
  22. Not sure how deep the expectations are that we make the finals in the AFL hierarchy. Personally I think that we are still under the radar with Gawn the only Demon that they rate in all their published lists of rated players. (They haven't got a Demon midfielder or forward for example.) i concur with the players that you have listed however I would add Hogan, Weideman, Hunt & Trenners! Watts for the Bluey! p.s. Winning our three pre-season games last year didn't set us up to even win the first match.
  23. CHRISTIAN Petracca says the influence of senior coach Simon Goodwin and new offensive coordinator Troy Chaplin have been significant for his game over the summer. Petracca said Goodwin’s elevation and the injection of Chaplin to the coaching group had been positive for him this pre-season. “They’re awesome. They’ve been great,” he told Melbourne TV. Petracca's words on Chaplin: “They’ve been really good mentors for me and a lot of other guys.” Entering his third AFL-listed season, Petracca said he was feeling upbeat about 2017. He expects to play half-forward and deeper in attack, while he hopes to spend some time in the midfield. “The body’s feeling well and I’m running a lot better and I’m feeling a lot fitter, which is good,” he said. “The biggest thing for me this year is playing my role and keep doing what the team needs me to do. “Whatever Goody and Chappy want me to play, I’ll play it.”
  24. 32,137 which is 350 up on Wednesday. The excitement is building ahead of tomorrow's double headerr!
  25. Aren't we allowed to,play the rookies (Keilty/Smith)?
