  1. Judging by the growing string of Clubs publicly declaring themselves not interested in Martin and the stand-off between his knucklehead manager and RFC, maybe we should rethink conjuring up a deal. If we thought of a fair package for him, maybe we can convince him to nominate for the pre-season draft, where we will be in pole-position to snap him up (especially in the light of GWS's official statement that they are not interested). Injecting him into our midfield without needing to trade or use a first-round draft pick has immense appeal. I am sure that Roos could devise a management plan to overcome any possible cultural differences between him and the rest of the list.
  2. Well the way his brain-surgeon manager has handled this these negotiations even makes me feel sorry for Martin. Off-the-field he doesn't seem to be able to make life decisions very well on his own and his manager has now exacerbated his position. Surely Richmond cannot change their stand and entice him back for little cash and most Richmond supporters have also tired of him. Despite opposing martin on the basis of being a bad cultural fit into our Club I now think we would be in a strong position to get him for no loss of draft picks if we offered him a reasonable sum and committed to take him in the pre-season draft with our pick No. 2. As GWS have stated so publicly that they do not want him in Sydney this could be a guaranteed outcome. There is no question that he would solve some of pour midfield problems and help us make an impact as early as next year.
  3. Actually that wasn't what I was saying [as you no doubt are aware]! I was referring to three if Cross was one and if Conca stays with the Tigers, I guess that is the same total of who we may be able to entice
  4. I would be staggered if they promoted Magner into the Senior list ahead of Clisby.
  5. It is a shame that there isn't a brother-brother rule like there is father-son! That we we could grab Dylan as well!
  6. Including Trengove and Toumpas (both of whom may surprise next year)!
  7. In other words TD, we are not pulling off any coups whilst all the other Clubs swap their stars around! Mighty disappointing! I hope that we get a PP and can snare Boyd and stick it up them that way!
  8. I so hope that you are right. It would be lovely to steal Boyd from under the nose of GWS and then use pick 3 to trade/draft the best mid (Martin, Swallow, Sloane, Adams etc)
  9. Maybe we should focus on Majak Daw instead of Gysberts? He might bring in the fans disappointed about the absence of Jurrah!
  10. Whilst we are on the trade/draft rumour mill, I understand that it has already started. The whispher that I heard last night is that Cross has already been signed up!
  11. One of which was against Collingwood!
  12. Don't worry about our recruiting this year as i understand that it has already started. The whispher I heard last night is that Cross has already been signed up!

  14. I agree. If you think Martin will conveniently wait until the PSD so GWS qill collect him for free that is being naive. Richmond will trade for Asams if that is their target
  15. Judging from following the posts and the Club's daily reports and videos, the players seemed to embrace Darwin and [even inf nobody else] they were convinced that they got something of benefit out of the program they undertook. There is no question that it was a good bonding exercise and possibly more fruitful than an end-of-season trip to Bali. The sponsorship is also good PR particularly when we play two matches up there and are developing a supporter base.
  16. Rather than turn this into a debate of Montagna vs Del Santo vs Cross let's accept than any of the above would generate short-term improvement and let roos & Co. assess what they will cost us. We should not elect to bring in older players near the end of their careers unless the deal is exceptional.
  17. Why trade for a 29yo midfielder when we can possibly pick up Cross [who is much the same age] for nothing in the pre-season draft? As we have second pick [assuming we do not do a "Hannath"] then it is unlikely that we would miss out. Let us keep all our low draft picks for younger midfielders.
  18. Also Cross short-term but any two of the above nominations would result in massive improvement.
  19. Too many others with a recent interest in Adams. I would rather focus on Swallow who is probably a more elite footballer.
  20. With all the other Clubs and media attention focused on Adams and Martin, maybe we should quietly arranging a trade for Swallow? I would be happy to see him as part of our midfield (longtime- term) and Cross (short- term).
  21. Docherty seems a better proposition than Yeo as he can go into the midfield. Happy to exchange for Bail!
  22. If we release Craig from the last year of his contract we save $400,000 which we can use towards Swallow!
  23. Much as he is talented l would prefer Swallow by a mile if we intend to build a culture at the Club. Dusty seems too high maintenance and our resources could be better utilised developing Watts, Viney, Trengove, Toumpas etc where our future lies.
  24. I am also in favour of Swallow (pick 2?) if we can pull it off. I am also keen if we can entice Cross for the next two years while Viney, Trengove and Toumpas reach their full potential. With a few other additions over the draft/trade periods and with the nucleus of a good back line and forward line already in place we should be able to give it a good shake next year!
  25. Yes they could and i would rather see Adams & Swallow!
