Maybe because of what DD36 said on the other thread: "His girlfriend is apparently living in Melbourne with his Dad who so happens to be Richmond's development coach."
-
One would argue that Chip will be a Dee in 2015 and beyond if you believe the MFC post where he claims "I love this place' and his 'veins bleed red and blue': http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-10-02/frawley-still-a-true-demon-in-dark-times and http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-10-09/players-need-to-drive-change-frawley It is only Demonlanders such as CD which seem committed to turning his departure intpo a self-filfilling prophesy.

THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2013 - TRUTH, LIES AND THE WHOLE DAMNED THING
CBDees replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd like to see that! -
The suspense is killing me in relation to getting an experienced mid in return for pick 2. Every time a rumour or thread starts on Demonland in relation to particluar star player form another Club, either he re-signs, is traded to another Club or the target Club denies that he is going anywhere.
-
Sound argument on the loss/lack of experience however puzzling that Carlton and Essendon seem to by the only two Clubs having a serious discussion with Chapman who would of been perfect injection of experience for a few years whilst Viney, Trengove, Toumpas get more games under their belt.
-
Nothing to say that Crouch and Freeman/Sheed won't be A-graders and they are more ready-to-go in 2014 than Aish IMO.
-
pick 38 is going to be more use than our current pick 108.
-
Nice to know Nathan is still in the mix. He certainly appears ready to play.
-
It looks like we can foget about Freeman as he has now officially become a Lions player with their Round 4 (Academy) pick (currently no. 57). Why can't we have an Academy like the interstate Clubs have? Surely the AFL is breeding an unlevel playing field by letting them claim elite players with late round picks!
-
This seems like a win-win scenario all round. WCE get three first round picks for the loss of a forward and a midfielder, the Hawks get a power forward to replace Buddy for the loss of a late first round pick and we get two quality midfileders whilst retaining our two early second round picks for giving up pick two. Seems OK for us and West Coast, just hope that Hawthiorn feels the same way.

THE DRAFT: TAC CUP FUTURE STARS ROLLING DRAFT
CBDees replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
After reading the thread on Freeman, I am starting to think that he may suit our purposes for 2014 more than Aish. At least he has a more developed body to throw into our midfield next year, especially when we already have a lighter framed and highly skilled outside mid in Toumpas. -
I had the opposite problem. i got it going but then couldn't switch it off without turning off my whole computer!

State of Play - 3 October and beyond
CBDees replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why would we go for Myers at #21 and pass over Nathan Jones younger brother who would still be there at 21? -
Somebody who could be permantly on our long-term injury list?
-
How long before the AFL lets us know regarding what compensation pick we are due to receive? Will we know tomorrow when the trade period commences in ernest?
-
I doubt that Colless will want Dew sitting inside the Sydney inner sanctum for the whole of 2014 in the knowledge that he is committed to Melbourne from 2015 and beyond, any more than we intend to have Craig with us next year when he is not part of Roos longterm plans. I understand that we intend to pay out the last year of Craig's contract and i am sure that Colless will not want to do the same with Dew as he may need every cent for Buddy. Personally i think Colless is posturing and if roos wants dew then he will get him on board in 2014.
-
The press reports which cite Fremantle's interest also admit that he is yet to meet with Roos since his return from the USA. I would back Roos to give him the best advice on his future and that of the Dees and i suspect that he may well be pulling on his No. 12 again next year.
-
Trade Radio are predicting that he will end up at Richmond.
-
I also got the feel from the interview that they have an established player lined up for pick two. That was the view of the radio hosts also as they are speaking right now. Wallace suspects it is someone aged 23 or under who is currently interstate.
-
Then make it happen by convincing him to place himself in the Pre-Season Draft where we can collect him without losing draft picks or compensating Richmond. It would be nice to insert him and Cross into our midfield next year alongside the gun midfielders we get for pick 2 and our second round pick.
-
The only reason you would want Fyfe is to double your chance for 'mark of the round'! His three early set shots for goal yesterday for a return of 1 point cost Freo the game yesterdayand certainly gave Hawthorn the momentum. No thanks.
-
Yes but GWS did not have the inside information that Leppitsch posseses from his time at Richmond. Accordingly Leppitsch's assessment on the Martin risk is likely to be better-informed.
-
Maybe it indicates that Martin is not as much a risk as some portray? I am sure Leppitsch would be well acquainted with Martin and be able to distinguish the facts from the fiction. This actually could motivate our recruiting guys to reconsider. Any downside could be far outweighed by having one of the best players in the league inserted into our midfield.
-
Well today's article seems to confirm that he will be playing elsewhere than Geelong next year. I have no problems in Chappy as a short-term project along with Cross, especially if we can pull it off with no compensation.
-
If he goes into the PSD with an identified minimum figure on his head, doesn't that mean that anybody drafting him has no option but to draft him on his terms rather than the Club's? Wasn't that similar to the Tippett saga?
