If GWS are not likely to use #29, why trade away or degrade our early picks merely to get a round two pick? Surely we can just give them Jamar for pick #29 as a Win-Win for everybody? Hopefully Zac Jones might still be there at round two.

Apologies to Mike Sheahan. -
The answer is NO. The depth is good with some exciting players still likely be there at #9 but much less so at #14 (or #29). I like our trades to date and we will only embellish things with a gun player at #9. Go Dees!

Is this another rumour whithout substance?

A crumbing forward, my kingdom for a crumbing forward

I am hoping that any mids that rest in 2014 do it either on the interchange bench or in the back pocket. Hopefully with more delivery from our mids then any body who finds themselves in the forward pocket won't be given any opportunity to rest. -
If Zac wanted to play with us he could take himself out of the National Draft and go into the Preseason Draft where we have pick #2 and pole position (if we can come to an understanding with GWS who have to reduce their list).

That is good news for Collingwood if they grab him with pick #6!
-
The article does mention his 22yo brother Josh as well! Who does he play for? (Hard to beleive as the brother in the middle that he would be hopeless!)
-
I heard that Collingwood are keen on picking up Freeman now that they have #6. This thwarts our aspirations for pick #9. Can anyone update on this?
-
We will still do well at #9 if you look at Jordie_tackles hypothetical above. Getting Tyson was a great coup. In effect we received a pick #3 (2011) and a pick #9 (2013) for the cost of a pick #2 (2013), a net gain of one. Not a bad result with effectively two players secured by picks in the top ten, both midfielders.

I agree that there is little urgent need to trade now that we have Hogan coming in plus Michie, Vince,Dom Tyson and pick #9 (Freeman?) all bolstering our midfield stocks. The idea of offloading Dawes, Clark or Frawley is ridiculous. So far we are travelling well and if there is opinion that there is no depth at the back end of the draft, we could do a lot worse than upgrading Clisby who IMO would hold his spot in our backline.

They got a first round pick as compensation for Buddy so what are they complaining about? Whas it because they were Premiers which meant that was #19? I am quite happy is they swapped last years result with us making us Premiers and giving them compensation pick #2. Weren't they one of the seventeen clubs who voted against giving us a priority pick when we finished with two wins for the year? Tough-[censored] i say!
-
Yes but nobody has any interest in her!
-
Suits us perfectly with St Kilda now with pick #9 as compensation! I think Freeman suits us perfectly and has the body to be able to play in 2014.

I presume that you are including Jones and Viney somewhere? -
yes it is not receiving!
-
How do we manouvre to pick up Zac Jones with our committment to Vince with the Compo pick? Surely our later pick #53 will be too late.
-
Then what do we call Mr Clark?
-
Sheil for pick #2 and keep Howe [for Sheil to kick to]

I am also unsure as to why we would need to collect two more defenders (one lightly-framed) although pick #9 could compensate by accessing us a genuine hard-bodied midfielder. I would rather deal with GWS on one of their serious midfielders otherwise we provide little support for Jones and Viney next year and still have problems getting the ball to our forwards. My thoughts are good idea if you take Fitzpatrick out of the equation. I would rather see him as a gun for us long-term than for Brisbane and pick #2 is already 'giving a bit'!
-
Hopefully if we can only only secure a decent midfield, we will have more use for key forwards than key backmen as it is at the moment!
-
I quite agree with other posters about how he would be a good addition to the midfield but surely for pick #36 (start of third round) rather than pick #20. There are better prospects around at #20 (& #21 if we get compensation)!
-
He looks the goods but will we be able to also collect young Zac Jones as well with a Sylvia PP (#21?) as i suspect he will not be there by pick #36?
-
Can we talk about draft rumours again?
