Name 3 players you are keen to see in 2014 and why
CBDees replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like your choice of JHK. I think that he could be the big surprise for 2014 just like Howe was when he debuted. -
Don't write off St Kilda too quickl. We thought we could bank Port Adelaide last year and look what happened. IMO we can even beat Carlton and a win there (against Malthouse and Brock Maclean) would be better for our morale than the other four matches combined!
-
Or, better still, share the Punt Road Oval with Richmond!
-
At least he has chosen to play where the Melbourne coaching staff will see a lot of him. Maybe we will see a massive turnaround and he could get re-drafted?

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Or Tanya Hird! -
Personally I would be disappoinyed if either JHK or Barry were not afforded a chance. We should try something out of left field [which is why we drafted them in the firsy place]!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
CBDees replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
28. Darcy Moore (Coll - F/S VIC KPF/Ruck) I see Collingwood have Darcy Moore as a F/S. Would we also have any claim on him, despite him only playing 77 games and winning a Brownlow whilst with Melbourne? -
I was about to post the same comments. 111 pics > good effort.

I am hoping that this speculation and fear-mongering about Frawley is just that, especially after he maintained that he had 'red and blue blood in his viens' and the Club announced back in June the following Headline (link attached): Frawley keen to stay loyal to Demons http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-06-11/frawley-keen-to-stay-loyal-to-demons

The AFL are quoting Collingwood as expecting to have their membership top 100,000. There is no way we can surpass that.

For those interested the AFL phone App has a report on this morning's training session. (There is also a report on Trengove.) -
I completely agree with DC. We did get punished twice by not getting a PP and it now it would be hypocritical to ever award another PP in the future under any criteria (considering a two win season doesn't qualify). The focus however should be away from MFC and asking the hard questions about their (the AFL) handling of EFC and Hird which deserves a lot more scrutiny that it is getting. Question is: "Who scrutinises the AFL"? (or AD).

I too are looking for big things from these three [along with Toumpas, Viney and Watts] -

Not sure I agree with BH and will be disappointed to be proved wrong! IMO both Hogan and Watts will prove to be superstars for MFC as will Toumpas and a few others! -

p.s Instead of taking away Essendon's Premiership points, they should have shared them out between us and GWS and evening up the competition.

An insightful and well-researched article indeed. After reading it, it has not changed my opinion of Hird, the AFL or Demitriou one little bit. They are all complicit and all should be given harsh penalties over and above anyhting imposed on the EFC itself!

As a plug for Fittzy, check out the following vision > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfzWUfnLufY -
If we market this, I think that we might be surprised how many closet Dee fans we can enrol in the Roos vision. I am sure that I can get a number of disillusioned mates to buy in, especially when we may actually be able to go to the footy like old times and see us have a red hot go!

Since it ranks player performances over two seasons and GWS players have only played one season (under the Hun's criteria) it is not surprising that they come last (despite having more first-round draft picks than any other team in the history of the competition). I would not be relying on this article as a true indication of the depth of team lists. I am one of the 'glass half-full' brigade who actually thinks that we will show a marked improvement this year. (My selections are on post #11) -

Dom Tyson for the reasons mentioned above Jay Kennedy Harris - I get a good feeling about this kid. Most don't expect him to play next year [and he lacks in size] but I feel that when he premiers he will be explosive and a joy to watch in the forward pocket. (Another Jeff Farmer?) Jack Fitzpatrick- Another sleeper who started showing potential last year. If given a chance in 2014 (hopefully not due to injury to Clark, Dawes or Hogan), he could become another very good tall forward. For those who don't share my enthusiasm for Fittzy, check out the following vision > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfzWUfnLufY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now that I have those three out of the road, others who I am keen to see next year are: Watts, Toumpas, Kent, Clark, Salem, Cross/Vince and Hogan for the reasons some of you already mentioned above
